Story
Hi, I’m Oso.  Oh-so-adorable, that is!  I’m a 10-year-old Yorkshire terrier boy who weighs 12 pounds.  I’m smart and snuggly and ready to greet you with an enthusiastic wiggle when you walk in the door.  I’m looking for a special person or persons to love and lean on when thunderstorms come along. General Behavior: Oso is a very loving, loyal pup who enjoys being around his people. Likes & Dislikes: This little guy loves food and is food motivated.  He can take or leave toys and car rides.  He gets anxious during thunderstorms and when left alone too long. Training: This sweet boy walks well on a leash and has good basic manners.  He tolerates a car ride and he sleeps well at night in a secure place. Medical: Oso just needs his heartworm and flea/tick preventive medicines, like any pup.  Other Animals: Oso gets along well with dogs his own size, especially female dogs, but is not comfortable with large dogs or cats of any size. Children: Given his age and size, Oso would do best in a home where any children are at least eight years old. Home: Oso would be fine in any type of home, including an apartment, townhome or condo. Grooming: With regular baths and brushing, this handsome boy will look and feel his best. Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate, clever pup whose happy wiggle will never fail to bring a smile to your face, Oso may be the one for you. Are you the one for Oso? Please visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and recently had a dental cleaning. His adoption donation is $275. ##2271175##

Story
Adult Yorkshire Terrier, 4 years old. Beau doesn’t think he’s a small dog—he is so brave with such a big heart. He’s a total lapdog one minute and a fierce little bodyguard the next. He responds very well to firm but gentle training using positive reinforcement and treats. He’s food motivated. He’ll gaze at you with soulful, loving eyes and follow you around all day. He loves hard, recklessly abandoning his sense of self in service to his person. He will also sleep with you if you allow him. Though he’s done well in a home with a small dog and cat, he’ll thrive as a solo pet living indoors. Escape artist—digs under fences. He may exhibit leash and barrier reactivity—hence recommending experienced adopter familiar with this breed. Beau is affectionate, brave, and loyal. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and loves car rides. He’d be the ideal companion for someone who works from home. Due to his small size, and risk of injury, he’s not recommended for homes with young children.

Story
Kerfuffle is an 11-pound, 9-year-old Yorkie mix. Though he’s a bit scared and cautious right now, with patience and kindness, Kerfuffle will warm up to you on his own terms. Once he trusts you, this sweet little guy will keep your lap warm and your hands busy because he loves belly rubs. He’s also a great snuggler and will keep you entertained with his charming personality. Kerfuffle needs a patient and loving home that can give him the time he needs to adjust and feel safe. He does have his momments when he is nippy, so no young children for him. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $200 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org.  ##2253121##

Story
Meet Kevin! This adorable 8-month-old Maltese-Terrier blend weighs a perfect 14 lbs of pure cuteness.   General Behavior: Kevin is the ideal companion—sometimes a relaxed couch buddy, other times a playful ball of energy. One thing’s for sure: he’ll do anything for a treat!   Likes & Dislikes: Kevin absolutely LOVES his walks and enjoys running around in a fenced yard. He’s not too fond of robotic vacuums (who can blame him?), but apart from that, he’s a pretty easygoing pup.   Training: Kevin is a smart little guy! He does well with his housetraining when let outside regularly and will let you know when it’s time to go. He walks well on a leash, rides nicely in the car, and greets his humans with the happiest tail wags when they come home.   Medical: Kevin is in great health! He’s up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. Like all dogs, he’ll just need monthly flea and heartworm prevention.   Other Animals: Kevin gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but his foster believes he’d likely do well with them too.   Children: Kevin would do best in a home with older kids (ages 8-10+), but families who are experienced with active puppies would also be a great match for him.   Home: A single-family home would be best for this active and vocal puppy.  Grooming: Kevin will need regular brushing and occasional grooming to keep him looking his best.   Overall: Sweet and friendly Kevin is ready to bring joy, cuddles, and wagging tails to a lucky family. He’s looking for a forever home where he’ll be loved, walked, and spoiled—just as he deserves!   Has Kevin won your heart? He’s waiting for you! Head over to  www.poodleandpoochrescue.org where you’ll find the application to adopt. He’s up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered.  His adoption donation is $500 ##2300192##

Story
Hi! They call me Mr. Paws. I’m a 10-lb Maltese – Poodle (Malti-Poo) blend and I’m 11 years old. I’m a great friend: I’ll always be by your side. General Behavior:  Mr. Paws is a great buddy.  He is a very good listener and will lend a floppy ear to all your problems while he follows you everywhere. He likes sleeping on the back of the sofa where he can keep any eye on whatever is happening. He loves visitors. Likes & Dislikes:  Mr. Paws loves being with his person, and he loves going outside (and going outside with his person). He enjoys his meals and would like to have some of yours as well. Training: This floof is a little gentleman! He is working on his housetraining. He walks well on a leash, loves car rides, sleeps in the people bed at night, and generally has good basic manners. Medical: Mr. Paws is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Other Animals: A friendly fellow, Mr. Paws gets along with other small dogs and will wait his turn (as long as he doesn’t have to wait too long). He hasn’t been observed around cats, but his foster thinks he'd be OK with them. Children: Mr. Paws needs a home with kind, gentle, understanding, older children (ages 8+). Home: This vocal little guy would probably do better in a single family home. When he wants something, he can use his big man bark and/or talk in his special dog talk. Grooming: As a Maltese blend, Mr. Paws will need regular brushing plus professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks. Overall: Mr. Paws will make a wonderful companion for someone who can give him the love and attention he deserves. Do you love Mr. Paws just the way he is? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $200. ##2381757##
