Mellie is a gorgeous Terrier/Yorkie mix ready for a forever home. She came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and never reclaimed. It was reported that she had a seizure at animal control on her first day, but has not had any seizures since. Our vets completed bloodwork and an exam, which came back great. They said sometimes dogs may have seizures due to stress, if they had gotten into something toxic, or that a dog may have 1-2 seizures a year without requiring medication. Mellie does not currently require any medication for the past seizure and has been doing well. She loves greeting staff and rolling in the grass. She is looking for a home without other dogs. She can be dog reactive on leash, which can make walks more difficult, so a yard would be beneficial. Mellie can be nervous with new people, so she will require a slow introduction. She is looking for a calm home without children. Mellie LOVES to run around outside and play with toys. She does get mouthy when she gets super playful or over excited.

Perfect Pooches welcomed Milly this past week after her owner could no longer care for her. Milly was originally from a puppy mill and was adopted from us 6 years ago. Milly is a sweet girl who is 13 years old and looking for a home where she can live her golden years with unconditional love. Milly never learned the skills of good potty habits, so her future family must be prepared and accepting of that. Her previous owner reports trying to train Milly with no success. Milly is toothless and very quiet. She is a dream of a senior gal for someone who is accepting of her potty challenges. She currently weighs 6.8 lbs, but should probably be closer to 5.5 lbs. Milly's adoption donation of $300 helps cover the cost of her medical care. Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks, vet checks, and home visits required. We do not do same-day adoptions. Email us with any questions info@perfectpooches.org. This handsome little fella is Gizmo, a 3-4 year old, 16 pound, Yorkshire Terrier mix who came to our rescue as a stray a couple months ago. Gizmo is a super sweet, super friendly, and sensitive little dog. He loves kids and enjoys running and playing with them. Gizmo does better having a fenced yard where he can run and play safely; he does walk nicely on a leash too for those daily walks. Gizmo is completely housebroken.  Gizmo has some separation anxiety so we are seeking adopters who are home most of the day. In addition, there must be another smaller dog in the adoptive home to keep him company because it helps him feel safe and less alone. Gizmo does not do well in a crate; he is not destructive in the home but will bark and drool if crated alone. He really is a super great little dog.  This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped.
