🐾 Meet Masha & Bear! Masha and Bear came to us together and are learning that life can be a little softer—and a whole lot less scary. 💚 🎀 Masha — Female, approximately 4 years old 🐻 Bear — Male, approximately 3 years old These two are small white dogs with naturally soft, fluffy coats. Based on their size, coat type, and appearance, we believe they may be Shih Tzu, Maltese, or similar small-breed mixes. They arrived severely matted, which left us with very limited grooming options. Both had to be shaved down for their comfort, so don’t let their current haircuts fool you! Once they’ve had some time to decompress, they’ll be ready for a proper spa day to really feel fancy. ✨ Their coats should grow back beautifully—right now they’re just little blank canvases waiting for their glow-up! Masha and Bear clearly know each other and find comfort in being together, but they do not appear to be bonded and can absolutely be adopted separately. Both are a little shy and cautious right now, so we think they would do best in calmer homes where they can decompress, build confidence, and learn to trust at their own pace. Quick movements and lots of activity can be overwhelming while they’re adjusting, so a home without small children would give them the opportunity to come out of their shells without feeling pressured or overwhelmed. For now, we’re giving them the time and space they need to realize they’re safe. Soon enough, we think we’ll be looking at two fluffy, fancy little dogs wondering why anyone ever let them live any other way. 💚🐾✨

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Jazzi is an 11 year old female Maltese mix who weighs in at 8 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $300. If you are still interested, please read more below. Jazzi came to ARF as an owner surrender from Tennessee. She was a matted mess but is so much better now! She will be spayed and have her dental on Sept.14, 2026 and will be available for adoption once those are completed. Jazzi is very sweet and likes attention from all people! She gets along great with other small dogs! She does not like being in a crate and will sleep in a gated area on a dog bed at night. She is mostly housebroken,  will go outside, and also use pee pads. Frequent breaks outside help to keep her on schedule. She does like things her way, and she will let you know that, but she is instantly your friend again! She loves her food and treats! She walks very nicely on a leash!
