Chip Grey is a 4 year old Schnauzer Yorkie mix with a sweet, funny personality to make your heart melt.  He loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters... but his favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and sleep right next to you!  He insists!  If you're watching tv or reading, he wants to be right next to you or in your lap.  He welcomes you home with bounces!   Chip loves toys and sitting at the window or door to see people go by. He walks great on a leash and does excellent on car rides.  He does shed some but with regular brushing his coat is lovely. Chip would be an ideal companion for a loving couple or individual - but in exchange he will need three things:  1)  Time to adjust to you and your home.  2) Trust that you won't let random people pick him up just becuase he's cute and little 3) Time to adjust to you and your home (bears repeating).  If you do these things you'll have a dog who'll love you unconditionally.   Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Hi my name is Noodles. I'm a 1 year old yorkie terrier mix and am 9 lbs. I was found as a stray and adopted from a shelter and then surrendered to rescue the very next day. I haven't had the greatest start in life but I am an energetic happy-go-lucky kind of boy. I've already been neutered, microchipped, am HW- and up to date on my vaccinations. I would love a family with another small playful dog. My foster siblings don't really like to play and get frustrated with my puppy energy. I have not been around cats, my foster mom says I am very gentle and would likely quickly learn appropriate boundaries. I am still learning how to walk on a leash and am coming along on my house training. I still sometimes have accidents but I'm getting better. Meet Cindi, a very 11-12 year old, 4 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Please meet precious Cindi. Cindi, lovingly named from "Cinderella", is a mere 4lbs and 11-12 yrs of age. She was found by a wonderful lady who searched for weeks for her owner. Sadly, this was all a dead-end as Cindi's microchip was never registered, and no one ever answered the ads in the Lost and Found or area shelters. Luckily though she will get her Cinderella as the finder reached out to our rescue. Cindi came to us as a hot mess. She was severely matted and her eyes were in such a horrible condition with ulcers on both eyes and a condition called dry eye. Not to mention, Cindi's skin and coat were so dirty and her nails that were painfully long. Although she has spent the better part of a week at the vet getting treatment for her eyes, she is otherwise very healthy and her blood work looks great. She will revisit the vet this week for a follow up with her eyes and has an appointment already setup for a spa day! She did receive a medicated bath and luckily, the vet was able to cut away most of her matting without losing all of her coat. The staff said she loves to snuggle and give kisses and I can assure you she is all full of love! As you can see with her prior hot mess of a coat, she will just be so gorgeous with that coat!! Cindi is now in the arms of her loving foster momma and dad and is absolutely just as sweet as they come. Meet Penny, an adorable 7 pound Yorkie sweetheart who is being fostered in Spring Branch, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered! Meet our little Penny poo. She and her sister's owner recently passed away leaving them alone in their apartment for days. A caring neighbor reached out concerned for them so UYR scooped them up and got them right into foster care. This sweet little girl is 7 lbs of cuteness and will have her 8th birthday in May! Once Penny has her dental procedure, she will be a completely healthy little pup Although we were told she is potty-pad trained, she actually potties outside...Whoohoo! Penny has an adorable personality and will melt anyone's heart! Her calm quiet demeanor is so awesome! She loves to go outside and run around and when you see her little ears flop while she runs its love at first sight! She follows her foster Mom & Dad around everywhere and loves belly rubs. She also loves to play with little squeaky balls but most of the time you will find her hanging out in her new little dog bed. She's a great sleeper and her foster parents are very happy about that!
