Story
My name is Lollie. I am a 6-year old Yorkshire Terrier female and I weigh between 6-7 pounds. My owners surrendered me because they could not take care of me anymore. I am a typical Yorkie in personality: a bit bossy, want to have all the attention and I love to be in my foster mom's lap. I need a home without children under 12 and, if I could be the only queen in the home, I would love it! I am spayed, current on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped, bloodwork and dental cleaning done.

Story
HI! My name is Ashley. I am an 18-month old Yorkshire Terrier mix. I am small, approximately 5 pounds. My coat is chocolate and silver. I was surrendered by my owner for no fault of mine. I am good with other dogs, sweet, friendly, affectionate and very playful. I will need a home with another playful dog to live with. I like kids 7 years and older. I love being with my human and like to sleep with my people. I am spayed, current on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped. I am leash trained and housetrained according to my foster mom. I also know how to use the doggie door.

Story
My dog was given to me as a puppy in Fayetteville AR. I've had him for 10 years. I'm looking for a home that's animal friendly and has patience for dogs. He's very protective and loves to cuddle and be rubbed. He's not an out door dog. He will be out only enough time to poop and that's it unless you're sitting outside with him. Has never really stayed in a cage since about the age of 5, unless at the kennel.

This little lady, Maxie for short, no pun intended, is such a tough girl.  She's had a rough time but the tide has turned since she came to Cody's and we are getting her all beautiful and healthy.  Maxine would be the perfect furry friend for anyone who's looking for a chill, relaxed small dog to share their home with.  You should just give in and meet her! I'm a sweet, friendly, smart, curious, and playful chap. I ended up here in the shelter because of my, uh, slight obsession with mailmen. You see, I just couldn't resist a good chase! One day, I followed one on his route all the way into town. I lost him, but found myself in a doggy jail. Don't worry though, I've learned my lesson, no more mailman chases for me! I do have a small quirk though, I'm not a fan of other dogs on walks. I'm more of a 'one-man show', you see? But don't let that deter you. I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless games of fetch. Adopt me, and let's create our own adventure!July 24, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
Chip Grey is a 4 year old Schnauzer Yorkie mix with a sweet, funny personality to make your heart melt.  He loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters... but his favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and sleep right next to you!  He insists!  If you're watching tv or reading, he wants to be right next to you or in your lap.  He welcomes you home with bounces!   Chip loves toys and sitting at the window or door to see people go by. He walks great on a leash and does excellent on car rides.  He does shed some but with regular brushing his coat is lovely. Chip would be an ideal companion for a loving couple or individual - but in exchange he will need three things:  1)  Time to adjust to you and your home.  2) Trust that you won't let random people pick him up just becuase he's cute and little 3) Time to adjust to you and your home (bears repeating).  If you do these things you'll have a dog who'll love you unconditionally.   Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org   ##1152540##

Story
Now that she has recovered from her eye removal and dental, Wanda is ready to find her forever home! She is 12 1/2 years old and weighs 19lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is mostly a Yorkie/Poodle mix, but has a little bit of Cocker Spaniel and Chihuahua mixed in! Wanda has never met a stranger. She happily greets everyone she meets with tail wags and sometimes kisses. She does great with other dogs, both big and small. We believe she would do well with anyone in her forever home, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Wanda’s foster family says that she is very laid back and mellow. However, she gets super excited for meal time! She will occasionally try to play outside with her foster parents or with the other dogs in the home, but these bursts of playfulness are few and far between. She is less of a lap dog than her buddies, Willis and Naomi, and instead prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Wanda does not require a kennel and sleeps in a dog bed on the floor all night. She does not have potty accidents in the house, but only as long as she is taken out regularly, as she will not alert her fosters when she needs to go out. She had to have her right eye removed, but her vision is normal out of her left. Due to her age, her hearing is not where it used to be, but she is not deaf. Wanda is a chill, independent girl who her foster family says someone will be lucky to have. If you are interested in adopting this sweet senior, please visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an application! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1849749##

Story
Selma is 12 1/2 years old and weighs 12lbs. Per Wisdom Panel she is a mix of 5 different breeds with the main breeds being Yorkshire Terrier and Miniature Poodle. If we had to describe her in one word, it would be SWEET! Selma does not have a mean bone in her body. Selma is blind and almost completely deaf, as she can only hear very loud noises. Even though she is blind, she navigates her surroundings great. She is also diabetic, so she requires two insulin shots a day as well as prescription food. We know this sounds scary to potential adopters. Her foster mom had never administered insulin shots before but said the needles are so tiny, and Selma never fusses when receiving them. Selma is fantastic around other dogs. She does not play with them but will happily snuggle up with another dog in a dog bed. She is also great with everyone she meets! Selma is gentle, independent, and so sweet. She spends most of her days napping in a dog bed but occasionally likes sit on a lap and get pets. She is not potty trained, but as long as she is taken out any time she wakes up from a nap, she doesn’t have any accidents. We realize that Selma has a lot stacked against her - age, blind, deaf, diabetic, and not potty trained. However, she is a special girl with so much love to give. Her forever home is out there somewhere. If you are interested in adopting Selma, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org!  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, zelle, venmo or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. Hi my name is Ethyl and some folks call me Eloise. I am a senior citizen and have my AARF card to prove it despite my youthful appearance. So if you like slow strolls and watching my tricks now and then well I am the girl for you. I like to be the queen and your only pet. I just need love, medication and frequent baths for my allergies. If that sounds like your kinda good time then I can be your forever girl. Please apply at tzuzoorescue.com if you are interested in adopting from Tzu Zoo Rescue. More information is available by contacting tzrinquiries@tzuzoorescue.com. [NOTE: We are a rescue NOT a shelter, meaning WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY THAT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC. Typically, an application and home visit (both of which are required for adoption) MUST be completed, BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets, in order to first determine that our basic adoption requirements are met, prior to introductions being made. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made.
