Story
~2 yr old, 11 lb Border Terrier/Min Pin/Chihuahua (?) Mix NEUTERED MALE needs ADOPTION Meet Mister ThunderEGG Gem! ThunderEgg Available for foster-to-adopt or adopt. He is being neutered on Monday 2/13   ThunderEgg was dumped in front of our vet clinic with a litter of puppies   The first day, he was assumed to be ”mom” until the vet did their exams and found all 4 dogs had a penis     We think he’s a Border Terrier and MinPin mix (likely chihuahua too because you know…)   He’s around 3-4 years old and 11 lbs   He’s shy for like 32.5 seconds and then he wants to be INSIDE you.   Needs to build confidence in public and we suggest obedience or trick training (we will pay for first session of classes) because learning a command and getting rewarded for doing that command builds confidence in dogs   He was likely used only as a breeder for his whole life until last week so it’s all he knows. He’s a humpy-McHumpster so right now a home with dogs who are larger than him OR are good at appropriate corrections would be great. He could be an only dog if his people were incredibly active.   His neuter is pending and he’s otherwise fully vetted and healthy   We think he would do best in a home who was active daily with hikes, walks, runs etc — he has terrier energy x 2. He NEEDS an outlet as he is VERY active   He would likely be a great barn hunt, agility, obedience candidate for competitive sport homes or 4-H   He is fine with older children. His energy level might be a bit much for children under 5 but all kids are different and you know yours   He ignores cats in his foster home     No signs of aggression. He has been a little barky but it also seems like nervousness in his new environment (he went from breeder, to vet to new foster in less than a week). Unless you work from home or are a hermit who never leaves, an apartment or wall-sharing close neighbors would probably not be a good idea at least initially (he has improved significantly) .   He is a LOVE with his humans. He will cover you in all the kisses you can handle. He wants to go where you go. enjoys running errands to Home Depot or Starbuck meetings with friends.   If you are interested in adopting or foster to adopting this sweet boy who just needs his opportunity to find his place in this world, please send us a detailed email to beourpet@gmail.com .   ***IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ADOPT BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!***  GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: He knows to go outside.  He was SUPER marky the first few days but that has resolved and we hope will be permanent once he recovers from neuter Crate Trained?: Eh... marginally but would need practice Leash Trained?: Yes, but practice would not hurt and he prefers harness Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes, ignores in foster home Good with dogs?: Yes but needs larger dogs or dogs who will correct him  Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: Regular (discounted) adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet.  Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service.   We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.  We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  April 28, 2024, 7:59 pm
