Max Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Available for Adoption
Meet Max
Max is a 4.5 months Great Pyrenees mix (best guess Labrador Retriever or Great Dane) who recently made the journey from Texas to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is now searching for a forever family of his own.
Max has been in rescue since birth alongside his mama and siblings and is excited to finally experience life as a beloved family member. He is a happy, social puppy who loves meeting people, playing with other dogs, and exploring everything around him. With his goofy personality and affectionate nature, he has a way of bringing smiles wherever he goes.
Like most puppies, Max is still learning the ropes. He is crate trained and making great progress with potty training but will need continued consistency as he settles into a new home. He is also working on leash manners and can be enthusiastic when heading out on walks. Max is very food motivated, eager to learn, and enjoys being praised, making him a great candidate for ongoing training.
Having grown up in a foster environment surrounded by people and other dogs, Max has developed into a friendly and confident puppy. He enjoys attention, loves being included in family activities, and is always ready for playtime or cuddles.
Max is expected to be a very large dog when fully grown, but right now he is still a big puppy with a playful spirit, a loving heart, and plenty of growing to do. He would make a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loyal best friend to grow up alongside.

1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure itâs the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too!
