Story
Looking to rehome my Akita. He’s a very good boy with a lot of personality and energy. He loves to play and be around people, and he would do best with someone who has the time and space to give him the attention and exercise he deserves. He is not good with cats, so a home without cats is a must. He would thrive with an active owner who understands larger breeds and can keep up with his energy level. This is a hard decision, but with my current schedule I can’t give him the time he truly needs, and I want what’s best for him.

Story
In the 1995 animated film `Balto`, an outcast Husky risks his life with other sled dogs to prevent a deadly epidemic from ravaging Nome, Alaska. This tale was actually based on a true story, where sled dog teams transported the diphtheria serum antitoxin from Anchorage to Nome, nearly 540 miles away! We have a stunning boy named Balto who is unsure that he’ll ever have the chance to save a city from an outbreak, but he’s hoping his future family will love him anyway!! Balto is a shy guy who is learning the routines in the shelter; his volunteer friends see so much potential, with one sharing:“Balto is a very handsome blonde pup whose fur looks like it belongs on a stuffed animal! He’s still learning to trust people here in the shelter! He’s a careful pupper and he was very observant, watching people and animals in his surroundings. He would approach me for treats, but he’s not quite comfortable with petting YET. I’m sure he’s just learning who he can trust here in the scary shelter and I believe he’ll come around any day! What a brave boy!” Balto shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Balto is dreaming of a patient furever family who will give him time to decompress from stressful shelter life and who will let him go at his own pace as he settles into a new home. While he may have the looks of a dog whose lineage may have originated in Alaska rather than Arizona, he believes that home is where the family is! He’s hoping to join yours!

Story
Jacob was the most popular name for baby boys in the U.S. for 14 consecutive years, from 1999 through 2012. Its popularity surge was partly influenced by the Twilight series, with the nickname `Jake` also contributing to its widespread appeal. When we think of the “Jakes” we’ve known, we think of laid-back, fun-loving guys, much like our very own pup named Jake!Jake was surrendered to the shelter when his owner moved and could no longer care for him. He was reported to do well with a teenager in the home as well as other dogs that he encountered. Volunteers love Jake, saying the following:“Jake is an adorable, woofy flufferbutt! I I entered a play yard where he was and he ?greeted me immediately with a happy body. He loves pets and snuggles and would follow me around the yard so that I could pet him! If I stopped he would ask me to continue. He`s a chatty guy with a big personality! He is one fun dude and I really enjoyed spending time with him!” “Jake is an adorable, big old teddy bear of a dog. I find him so cute with his bright eyes, perky ears, and fluffy coat. He is easy to leash, easy to walk, and non-reactive to other dogs. He ambles along slowly, taking in the sights and smells, and seems happy to have time outside. He’s easy to return to his kennel.”Jake shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, tolerant and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home. It may be hard to believe that Jake is 10 years old, given his spunk, but he truly is looking for an active senior’s retirement home! He’d love to go on walks and play, followed by plenty of time to rest with his loved ones. If you’re looking for a great pup to add to your family, come meet Jake!
