Story
Cash, isn’t he gorgeous?! and he is oh so sweet, his foster says she is constantly covered in puppy kisses and greeted with his beautiful smile. Cash is a 11 month old Akita who found himself in rescue when his senior owners were no longer able to care for him. He doing wonderful in foster care, playing with other dogs, rolling in leaves and going on adventures. He doesn't like to share a food dish with his dog friends (who would?) so he eats alone but that's very easy to accommodate. Cash is a smart, outgoing, loyal athletic young dog, he will need continued training as he continues into adulthood. He is great with other dogs medium sized and larger, no small dogs for Cash as he does have a prey drive indicative of his breed. Cash has been great with older children (8 and up). He is friendly with new people and shown a fondness for leaning in and back scratches. Cash is housebroken and leash trained. He will make a great addition to your home. Cash is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Saki came to HHR by way of our rescue friends in GA. Saki was scheduled for euthanasia for being a special needs dog. She is at least partially hearing impaired and has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). CH is a permanent condition caused by exposure to distemper while in utero. The exposure causes underdevelopment of the cerebellum in the brain- the part responsible for fine motor skills. CH does not affect Saki’s health, but it is the reason her head bobbles and she walks a little differently than other dogs. We think it only adds to her personality. She is a silly, playful, energetic girl that loves to run and play. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home but can also be a bit rude in the beginning because her condition leaves her less able to read cues from other dogs. Saki would be best suited for a home with adults or older kids (teens and up). Saki is about two and a half years old and weighs 58 lbs. She is spayed; vaccinated for rabies, distemper, and bordetella; microchipped; and recently treated for heartworm by our veterinarian. Saki is current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Interested in meeting Saki? Please complete an application By visiting our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org. Adoption donation $500

Story
Sweet girl dumped by her owners after 9 years. Left at a pound in LA Kiss went on the euth list and we scooped her up. She loves walks, is cute as all get out, and would make a low maintenance companion dog! She is heavy set at about 35 pounds but is quiet and lazy and very cute if you like an open face and low maintenance companion. She is housetrained, gets along with cats and dogs but would love to be an only dog and be fussed over. Debarked she is quiet tho can make a noise when needed (sad attempt at a bark). I thought she would be popular but here she sits. Her adoption fee is 195.00

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 11/28/25**Malcolm has become urgent. He is safe in his foster home but he really needs an adopter ASAP*** Please message us for more info. His adoption fee is WAIVED!    Highlights- House trained, crate trained Good leash manners Knows basic commands No small animals No young kids Does well with the dogs in his foster home but is not good with the dogs that have come to visit his foster home. Details: Malcolm had a home once. Before he became a stray he was neutered, someone loved him enough to do that for him. Then did he get lost, or was he abandoned? When he entered the high kill shelter he had no baby teeth, so he was 6-8 months old. He was pulled from the shelter to save him from euthanasia. After getting into our rescue, Malcolm went to the Paws in Prison program where he learned all the commands a good doggy needs to know. Now Malcolm is in a foster home, practicing how to be part of a family. He loves intensely, but sometimes in the daily chaos he forgets that he is safe and does not need to struggle to survive anymore. He is a resource guarder and is protective of his people. Malcolm would do best in a home with no small animals or young children. He is fully house trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, and plays great with the resident dogs, but he does not want visitor dogs in his home. He loves puddles, and car rides, and walks in the woods. He’s sort of a goofy, bull in a china shop kind of guy! Malcolm is a fantastic mouser! He has to be touching his person on the couch and in bed. He chews toys to bits, but he has not been destructive otherwise. He just needs a special adopter to give him the time and patience he needs to thrive. He is a mixed breed, estimated 1.5-2 years old, about 70 pounds. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In New England. Story
Wolfie is a smart, loving, husky mix. He loves to take naps, lay by your feet or accompany you on errands or roadtrips. He’s a bit on the leaner side but that is because he loves to run and play at the dog park twice a day - if you let him ☺️ I love him soo much, he’s my first husky and an amazing dog overall so it is very hard for me to rehome him as I planned to spend the rest of my life with him. With this in mind, I’m hoping his new family will keep in touch with me so I can stay up-to-date on his well-being and provide any support or help in the future when able.
