Story
Saki came to HHR by way of our rescue friends in GA. Saki was scheduled for euthanasia for being a special needs dog. She is at least partially hearing impaired and has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). CH is a permanent condition caused by exposure to distemper while in utero. The exposure causes underdevelopment of the cerebellum in the brain- the part responsible for fine motor skills. CH does not affect Saki’s health, but it is the reason her head bobbles and she walks a little differently than other dogs. We think it only adds to her personality. She is a silly, playful, energetic girl that loves to run and play. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home but can also be a bit rude in the beginning because her condition leaves her less able to read cues from other dogs. Saki would be best suited for a home with adults or older kids (teens and up). Saki is about two and a half years old and weighs 58 lbs. She is spayed; vaccinated for rabies, distemper, and bordetella; microchipped; and recently treated for heartworm by our veterinarian. Saki is current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. *Name: Gili *Age: 7.5 years old *Current Weight: 50 lbs  *Adoption fee: $400 Meet Gili, a 7.5-year-old rescue from Bali with a gentle spirit and an independent, loving nature. She’s looking for a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and truly at ease. Gili is low-maintenance and enjoys spending her days roaming the yard, soaking up the sun, and relaxing around the house. She’s fully house-trained, doesn’t use a crate, loves neighborhood walks, and occasionally gets happy zoomies in the backyard. While Gili often chooses her own sleeping spot, she loves coming in for morning cuddles—especially gentle ear and chest rubs while she sweetly licks your hand. Gili is a devoted companion who likes to stay close and will follow her people from room to room for comfort. During summer storms, she can be anxious and seeks extra closeness, sometimes cuddling under blankets. Gili can be cautious with strangers and sudden movements so she would do best in a home without young children. She prefers to be the only pet and thrives in a peaceful, predictable environment. With adults who love her for who she is, Gili is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted in her own quiet way. She has so much love to give and will be a wonderful companion!  To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs  ##2634318##

Story
Bailey is a beautiful four-year-old Akita who came to us as a puppy and has been a loyal companion in our home. Bailey enjoys observing the world around her and is especially intrigued by children, often watching them curiously from a distance. However, due to her temperament and comfort level, we believe she would do best in an adult-only home where her boundaries are well understood and respected. She has formed a strong bond with her primary caregivers and responds best to clear leadership and consistency. Because of her protective instincts and challenges with accepting additional family members as authority figures, Bailey has bitten our daughters. With this in mind, she will require an experienced, adult-only home prepared to provide structure, training, and careful management. Our decision to seek a new home for Bailey comes from a place of care and responsibility, with the goal of finding an environment where she can feel secure, understood, and able to thrive. She needs a home.

Story
Meet Toby, a handsome adult (estimated age 2-3 years old) neutered male Akita mix who is every bit as sweet as he looks! This boy weighs about 55 lbs. Toby can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how he settles in before committing to adoption. From Toby's current foster:  •He's great with kids•He's cautious of men, not women but once they show him love he's been great•Not cat tested but has shown prey drive seeing neighbor's chickens•He's housebroken but will have occasional accidents if he's nervous or learning a new routine of what door to go out of•Very eager to please, loves calm and soft, happy interaction •I'd say he would only do good in an apartment if he was actively being taken to the park and long walks often as he loves to explore to get energy out,f but otherwise he just wants to lay with you and hangout. •He's interacted with my female akita, while under my extreme supervision. They have trouble reading each other's body language but both seem to want to play. I believe with more dedicated patience and time working together they could be good together. He's a dominant dog, I'd recommend no other male dogs He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this good boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2689622##
