Due to a severe personal medical crisis, I can no longer give her the care she deserves. Jupiter is a “Queen Bee” who needs to be the only pet and in an adult-only home. She prefers not to share her space with other animals or small children. She has a tender heart and struggles with separation anxiety when crated or left alone too long. She needs a home where someone is around often (work-from-home or retired) and can provide plenty of opportunities to go outside for potty breaks. She thrives on routine and specific attention. Akio's Story Meet Akio! Akio is a handsome 1-year-old Akita/Husky mix who came to us as a stray and is now ready to find his forever home. Weighing in at 73 lbs, this big guy has the looks—and the potential—to be an amazing companion. Akio likely spent much of his life outdoors, so he’s still learning some of the basics of indoor living. He pulls a bit on the leash and will benefit from continued socialization with people, but he’s already shown that he gets along well with other dogs and seems to do just fine with cats, too. He’ll need some guidance with housetraining and basic manners, but with consistency, patience, and positive training, Akio should thrive. He’s a young dog with lots of room to grow and would do best with an experienced adopter ready to help him learn and build confidence. Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!!
