Story
Hi! My name is Forest. If you are looking for an ideal companion, then look no further cause here I am! I am already housebroken, crate trained, know sit, shake, and even know I am not supposed to jump on you or your furniture without your permission! I enjoy snuggling with you if you will let me, and like a good romp in a fenced-in backyard. My favorite thing is being outside and I can be a tad stubborn when it's time to come in. My foster mom thinks I might have accidentally escaped from my people since I was caught chasing a deer. Since my prior owner could not be found, I find myself in need of a new home. My only requirement is a home with no small animals, (cats, rabbits, small dogs, chickens, etc.,) because though I am well trained and super laid back, I do have a high prey drive. If you are looking for a new friend who will not require much training, just a bit of time to understand your expectations, I would love to meet you! And hey, I am even neutered so I can go home with you right away! If you are interested in meeting me too, please contact the shelter so they can get you in touch with my foster mom. She would love to set up a meet and greet so she can show off my good manners and just how much of a gentleman I am. I hope to meet you soon! Primary Color: Tan Weight: 64 Age: 4yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
Hi Everyone! We are needing to rehome our girl Ciya. We're located in Knightdale , NC. We have to rehome her because we just found out our youngest son is severely allergic to her. She is a 10.5 yr old Akita. I would describe her as very calm and peaceful. She is very sweet and loves kids. She enjoys short walks, rubs, exploring outdoors and just hanging out. She is an indoor lady so I would ask that anyone looking to place her outdoors not respond. Please let me know if you have questions pertaining to rehoming her. Thank you so much for reading this far.

Story
(DOB 08/29/2019) Otra is a gentle giant. Dog-friendly with dogs of all sizes. People-friendly, but may be too much for little kids. Oh, and he CAT FRIENDLY, too!! Super handsome, Otra, is an Akita mix and is the goofiest most well natured boy you’ll meet! He weighs around 95 pounds and is such a gorgeous fluffy boy.  Otra is great on leash, is crate trained, and is house trained. Otra lovessss other dogs, sometimes too much for their liking. He loves chasing his doggy friends' tails, which can sometimes annoy them. When he gets corrected, he gets so sad. He is essentially a 90lbs puppy. His ideal home would be one where he has a doggy friend to play with and preferably a fenced in yard.  Otra is a very loving boy. He is very playful and is mouthy during his playtime. He will give you his paw to trick you into putting your hand within reach so he can chew on it. It is adorable and not malicious in any way, but his future family must know about this and be okay with it!  Otra has a degenerative eye condition and will continue to lose his vision over time. Right now his vision is pretty good, but sudden movements do spook him, and he can be a little bit head shy. Due to his vision loss and mouthiness, Otra is looking for a home without small children. As part of Otra’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Otra, you can fill in an online application by going to our website and clicking the" Adopt"  button on his profile at:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1860067##

Story
Meet Capone! I'm a silly, playful, and fun-loving guy who will keep you entertained with my delightful antics. You'll be pleased to know that I'm both crate and potty trained, making me a well-behaved companion. However, I should mention that I prefer to be the only dog in the house, and I'm most comfortable in a home with adults - so no kids, please. I absolutely adore going for walks, and I'm always up for a good cuddle session or some playtime. Chewing on bones is a favorite pastime of mine, and I'm a sucker for treats. You'll find that I'm smart but a bit hard-headed, which can make life with me quite an adventure. Trust me, I'm even cuter in person! If you think I might be the one you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask to meet me. I can't wait to become your best friend and fill your life with love and laughter! Story
During playgroups it was determined that Mama Maddie would do best in a home with no small animals (cats, dogs, etc.) and is likely choosey about what dog personality she would prefer to live with. It's best to do slow introductions with her and an existing dog in the home. Start out having them meet outside on leashes and go for a walk. Then let them separate and have their time apart for a few hours. Repeat for a day or two and then they can co-mingle inside, with leashes on, just in case (easier to grab a leash). If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Mama Maddie 253403".She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
