New situations can be a little overwhelming for her—she can be nervous around loud noises and is still learning to feel comfortable walking on a leash. With patience, consistency, and reassurance, she continues to make progress every day. Because of her sensitive nature, Theresa would do best in a calm home with someone who has Akita experience and understands the value of going at her pace. Cookie was adopted a year ago and recently returned to the shelter when she was not doing well with the new baby in the home. Cookie would prefer to be the only pet in the home and prefers a home without children. She is very devoted to her humans and loves to go on walks! She has been to the groomers and has done will with grooming! She enjoys getting treats and loves playing with squeaky toys! She does know sit and lie down. She loves to be with her people and would love to have another chance at a loving forever home soon! She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Blitz arrived at the shelter with his sister Raven as strays. He is around 2 years old and weighs in at 60 pounds. Blitz is a fun loving guy that loves to run and play! Potential adopters should have knowledge of the husky breed. Blitz is a lovable, reserved guy that enjoys going to the play yard to run! He does show interest in chasing cats so a home without cats may be best. Blitz would love to find his loving forever home soon! He did test positive for a tick borne disease called Ehrlicia but is currently undergoing treatment for it and doing well. Blitz has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.
