Meet Neko 🤍 Sometimes life deals you an unfortunate hand — but I pulled through like a champ and now I’m ready for my new home. I’m Neko, a 3-year-old Mastiff/Akita mix with a gentle soul and a big heart. I recently finished treatment for heartworms and did an amazing job resting and healing. Now that I’m feeling better, I’m ready to get back to enjoying life. I’m potty trained, independent, and love being around my people. I’m also a big fan of other dogs, which is why I sometimes get excited when I see them — I just really want to go say hi! When I’m feeling my best, I love long walks (2+ miles) and exploring the world with my person. I was previously living with a family, and now I’m looking for a fresh start with someone who will love me as much as I’ll love them. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who’s overcome a tough chapter and is ready for a happy one, come meet me. 🐾

Story
Please help us find a home for Honey. This has been one of the hardest decisions our family has ever had to make. We have a young child, and after exhausting every option available to us, we can no longer safely keep her in our home. Honey cannot be around other dogs. She has attacked our little dog, causing injuries that required veterinary care, and she has also attacked our other dog. Because of these incidents, we cannot risk another attack and must prioritize the safety of our child, our other pets, and Honey herself. For months, we have been trying to find a safe and appropriate solution. We have contacted rescues, shelters, and surrender programs, but everywhere has been full or unable to take her. We have explored every avenue we could find because we wanted to give her every possible chance. We have an appointment with our veterinarian on Monday to discuss our remaining options. Our goal has always been to do what is safest and most humane for both Honey and our family.

Story
She is spayed and completely updated on vaccines for this year. She turns 5 in August and has undergone training. She will sit, come, place, down, and kennel on command. She is not a purebred husky, but we are unsure what her full mix is. She is great with other dogs and people and well behaved with small children. As expected with her breed, she is very energetic with a goofy personality that makes her easy to love. Due to our rapidly growing family, we can no longer provide an ideal home for her energy levels and are looking for someone that can properly meet her needs. We love her very much and this is very hard for us, but we know that she is a happy soul and will be great in any family she goes to. Look forward to quite sassy personality and a ton of fun.
