Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Story
Awwooooo!!! Adopt me!   LAKOTA is an affectionate, gentle, playful (and at first - a little bit shy). but is now available for adoption to the public!!   Background: Lakota was picked up as a stray on 7/27 and brought to a shelter. He was thin and leggy, and originally thought to be a wolf hybrid (and therefore rescue only to wolf-sanctuaries). He stole our heart and we advocated for him by presenting info to the staff which gave them the resources to properly phenotype him. We also presented his photos & videos to other rescue groups that specialize in Northern breeds who also weighed in. Our favorite, wolf-sanctuary-sister-rescue and friend, Dr. Lorin Linder, Ph.D., MPH. of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center also reviewed the photos/videos and provided her expert opinion to the shelter. He's now been properly labeled as an Alaskan Malamute mix and because of his lovely, friendly temperament, can become the forever companion to a very lucky person or family.   Despite all of Lakota's people-friendly qualities, Lakota is reactive to other dogs so only adopters with experience with strong, Northern breed dogs will be considered, and he will not be placed in a home with other dogs or pets. Meet Katya, she’s a beautiful Malamute/Husky mix of 2 years old. She was saved from euthanasia at the shelter for having been there too long and just overlooked amongst so many huskies. Katya loves life, loves to play fetch, to go on hikes and runs, and is just a wonderful companion. She’s best with older kids and large dogs. She has prey drive with small animals/cats. She is spayed, chipped, and vaccinated. Only asking $100-Adoption fee to try our best to get Katya a home - she has been kenneled for almost a year!! If interested, please come by the ranch ( 34128 Agua Dulce Canyon Road in Santa Clarita) any day between 8-6

Story
🐾 Meet Frances Buckley 🐾 Frances Buckley is a 6-year-old Husky/Malamute mix with a story that could have ended very differently. He was just hours away from being euthanized at a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles—despite a heartfelt surrender letter from his owner describing what an incredible dog he is. His only “mark” against him? He once snapped at a stranger who approached his owner at night—protecting his mama. No skin was broken. But in overcrowded shelters, even a moment like that can become a death sentence. We couldn’t let that be the end of his story. Thanks to an incredible foster, Amanda, who stepped up without hesitation, Frances Buckley is now safe—and we are forever grateful. We truly cannot save dogs like him without committed fosters opening their homes and hearts. And what we’ve learned since rescuing him? Frances is everything we hoped he would be—and more. ✨ He loves car rides ✨ He is loyal, gentle, and deeply connected to his people ✨ He has a calm, soulful presence that makes you feel safe ✨ He is settling beautifully into home life and learning to trust again ✨ He will also be receiving professional training to help set him up for long-term success Frances isn’t just a dog. He’s a second chance. A protector. A survivor. He is ready for a forever home that sees him for who he truly is—not for a moment taken out of context, but for a lifetime of love he still has to give. 📍 Located in Los Angeles 📩 To adopt Frances Buckley, please send an inquiry to info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org
