Story
Awwooooo!!! Adopt me!   LAKOTA is an affectionate, gentle, playful (and at first - a little bit shy). but is now available for adoption to the public!!   Background: Lakota was picked up as a stray on 7/27 and brought to a shelter. He was thin and leggy, and originally thought to be a wolf hybrid (and therefore rescue only to wolf-sanctuaries). He stole our heart and we advocated for him by presenting info to the staff which gave them the resources to properly phenotype him. We also presented his photos & videos to other rescue groups that specialize in Northern breeds who also weighed in. Our favorite, wolf-sanctuary-sister-rescue and friend, Dr. Lorin Linder, Ph.D., MPH. of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center also reviewed the photos/videos and provided her expert opinion to the shelter. He's now been properly labeled as an Alaskan Malamute mix and because of his lovely, friendly temperament, can become the forever companion to a very lucky person or family.   Despite all of Lakota's people-friendly qualities, Lakota is reactive to other dogs so only adopters with experience with strong, Northern breed dogs will be considered, and he will not be placed in a home with other dogs or pets. He is in search of his furever home, can't you see the sweetness in his eyes?. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. Does great with other dogs. Just wants to be around people and be loved on. Very sweet boy who would be a great cuddler... WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO CURL UP ON THE COUCH W/HIM ON MOVIE NIGHT? He was a dumped dog on a back road with two others. Kind people helped and kept them fed for a couple of weeks until they were able to catch them and get them all into rescues. ANCHOR URGENTLY NEEDS TO FIND A FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT, FOREVER HOME OR A RESCUE THAT WILL TAKE HIM IN FOR PLACEMENT. HE IS IN CENTRAL CA, BUT TRANSPORT CAN BE ARRANGED!

Story
Hi, my name is Zuko! I’m a 2-year-old Alaskan Malamute with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I’m playful, loyal, and full of love. I adore going for walks, playing with my toys, and just hanging out with my favorite humans. Whether it’s going on an adventure or relaxing at home, I’ll always be by your side. Sadly, due to life changes, my family can no longer give me the time and attention I deserve. They love me very much and want me to find a new home where I’ll be truly happy. I’m healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready to start my next chapter. I would do best with someone who understands my breed — I have lots of energy and love outdoor adventures! I can’t wait to meet my new best friend and show them just how loyal and loving a Malamute can be. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will always have your back, I’m your guy. 🐾 Please reach out if you think we could be a good match!

Story
Heartbroken to have to put Ludo up for adoption. We got him a little over a year ago and he is one of the sweetest, gentlest, most laid-back dogs I have ever met (though he's still a malamute husky so he's not without energy, lol). Absolutely loves people (& kids!!) & will cuddle you at any time & nose you for pets. He is about 3 years old we think (though definitely still has some puppy in him). He is extremely low maintenance for a malamute husky & has had treadmill training. He knows basic commands but is eager to please, food motivated & responds well to training. He does currently pull when walked & gets very excited when he sees other dogs because he desperately wants to play. Can sometimes exert dominant behavior with strange dogs but is great with animals he gets to know and immediately submits to humans. We think that with a bit of training he could become a dog park dog. Truly an amazing pup. Husband lost his job and that's the only reason we're rehoming him.
