Story
I rescued Mila when she was about 6 weeks old and had recently lost her mother. She is a sweetheart and is extremely friendly with everyone (humans and animals). She has been socialized with all sizes of dogs from a young age. I’m no longer able to keep her due to moving away and unfortunately, I cannot take her with me. I want to make sure she goes to a loving home with a lot of space for her to roam around. Ideally a ranch/property with other animals.

Story
Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-17-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one ever responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love nothing more than to help him find his forever family! Sammy loves to play with toys and with entertain himself or play with you!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.September 17, 2025, 8:36 am

Story
Meet Aurora! This gorgeous girl is a stunning 3 1/2-year-old female Alaskan Malamute. She was surrendered to us when a breeding operation shut down and we had to step in and help her and the others! If there is one thing this girl is obsessed with, it is HUGS! I met her for the first time, and she came right up to me, gently jumped up, rested her paws on each shoulder, and gave me the biggest hug while looking deeply into my eyes. There was no leaving her behind! This amazing girl is great with all dogs (big and small), CATS (yes, that's huge), all people, and kids! She is really an amazing dog that is eager to please and cuddle. She is incredibly smart- she knows how to sit, paw, and hug. She wasn't taken on walks in her prior home, so we have been working on that, and she is doing wonderful on a harness. She does not pull and is gaining confidence on the leash every day. She is not your typical high-energy working dog; she is very low-key and wants to be with her humans. She would be perfectly fine with a short or a long walk, no matter your speed! Aurora would absolutely love to be cuddled in bed and be the couch potato. She paws when she wants to be pet in the most gentle way. She is still growing hair back since she had puppies almost 3 months ago and was covered in fleas. She is 100% potty trained and crate trained. Aurora is truly a special dog. Her adoption fee includes: Wellness Exam, spay, microchip, vaccines and dental.

Story
Meet Hatchi! A soulful young adult Akita/Siberian Husky mix currently in Roseville, CA, whose essence is a whirlwind of energy wrapped in a majestic tricolor coat and anchored by a loyal, tender heart. Hatchi is a 90-pound oversized teddy bear who’s still adjusting to life with only one working eye, the result of stabilized glaucoma. Though he may see shadows, sudden movements can startle him, especially during walks. Because of this, he thrives with a confident, experienced caregiver who can help him feel grounded and secure. Hatchi is strong on leash and reactive to dogs, cats, bikes, and cars that pass by, so he needs someone who’s comfortable working with large breeds and understands the power of positive reinforcement and patient training. Despite his reactivity, Hatchi is a sweet, snuggly companion at heart. He melts into affection and is eager to please, especially when treats are involved! This intelligent boy responds to his name, is crate trained, house-trained, and has lived harmoniously with young children aged 7 and 8. He may do well with a calm, female dog companion but would not be compatible with cats. Daily life with Hatchi includes administering eye drops, which he’ll need for the rest of his life. Thankfully, his love of treats makes this task pretty manageable. A fenced yard is essential, not because he’s tried to escape, but because his Husky instincts and natural curiosity make outdoor safety a must. Hatchi is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, and he’s ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, structure, and confidence-building. His sensitive nature means he looks to his human for reassurance, and with the right support, he has the potential to blossom into a truly remarkable companion! Whether you’re curled up on the couch or working on training together in the yard, Hatchi will be right by your side, ready to soak up your affection and offer his loyalty in return. Could you be the guiding heart Hatchi needs to help him thrive? If you’re interested in providing Hatchi with a loving home, please email meetme@joyfulpets.com for more information about adopting him. Please note that Hatchi is currently in foster care through one of our trusted rescue partners and will remain with his foster family until the right match is found. Because rescue-partner pets are managed directly by their respective organizations, their adoption process, requirements, and fees may differ from Joyful Pets’ direct rehoming program. Our team will be happy to connect you with the rescue and help guide you through their process to ensure everything goes smoothly.
