This malamute and pittie mix is seriously handsome. He is a big boy with a sweet side, and now he is looking for a new home after his family had to move. Koda is housebroken, knows cues like sit, down, paw, and go to your room, and he is very food motivated, which makes training a great way to connect with him.Koda is a strong, active guy who loves walks and takes his sniffing very seriously! He can pull when he gets excited, so he will need someone ready for a dog with both strength and enthusiasm. He has lived with other dogs before and done well, but he prefers to keep his favorite toys and treats to himself, so his future home should be thoughtful about managing those things around other dogs.At home, Koda is happy to meet new people and has done well with kids. He gets so excited to say hello that he sometimes throws his whole body into his greetings! He is also a bit of a Houdini, so a secure yard and careful door watching will help keep him safe.Koda is a lot of dog in the best way. He is beautiful, smart, and full of personality, and he is ready to be somebody’s very lucky dog.

Story
Meet Scobby!Scobby is a high-energy, 51lb, 2-year-old, Alaskan Malamute who is ready to find a family to call his own. Through no fault of his own, he was surrendered to the shelter and is now hoping for a fresh start with people who will love him forever.According to his previous owner, Scobby gets along well with other dogs and does great with children of all ages, making him a wonderful candidate for an active family. He hasn`t been around cats, so his compatibility with feline friends is unknown.Scobby is comfortable spending time in a crate, which can be a great tool as he settles into a new home. He is not yet housetrained, so he`ll need a patient family willing to help him learn a consistent routine. With positive reinforcement, structure, and plenty of opportunities to succeed, he has the potential to make great progress. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please use the link below to fill out the application. Once we receive that back, then we can schedule you a meeting with the animal you are interested in.https://form.jotform.com/261544309434052

Story
Please read entire description. Blu's adoption fee is $175. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the first step of the adoption process.    Meet Blu. This gorgeous Malamute mix is looking for a new home. She will be 3 years old in October. She is a sweet, gentle girl that knows several basic commands and is solidly house trained. She is crate trained, but would likely be fine left out or in a baby gated area. She hasn't been destructive. She would ideally love a fenced yard, but is also good on leash. She tends to whine when in the car and would not be the best traveling dog. Blu has been around children of all ages and does well. She has never lived with cats.   Blu tends to snap at larger dogs when she first meets them. The reason for rehoming is due to not getting along with one of the larger dogs in the home. She seems to be very tolerant and ok with smaller dogs. Blu occasionally does take Trazadone when going to the groomers to both help with the car ride and the groom.   Blu is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. If interested in Blu, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $175. ##2507787##

Story
Meet Axel! This big guy is all about play and has energy for days. He would thrive in an active home that can keep up with him. Axel loves being part of the action and definitely knows how to make himself noticed! He can be a little jumpy and right up in your space so some basic training would go a long way. We recommend older kiddos since he likes to play hard. He’s open to meeting other dogs and previously lived with cats!
