Story
On 10/14/2023 Ruby was born in our home and out of a litter of 9 we decided to keep her. Ruby has lots of energy and loves to steal your socks. She is a real sweet heart and house-trained. She typically enjoys hanging in the backyard throughout the day or going for walks. Due to obligations with my child I do not have time to give Ruby the attention she deserves and it really breaks my heart to have to rehome her.

Story
Have had him four 5 out of his eight years. Chance is very lovable, well trained. He will sit and stay, lay plus house trained! I just can’t give him the time he wants, he has always had someone home with him and kids until the last year which has caused him to be super lonely. Looking for someone that can spend more time with him.

Story
Meet Drako! This handsome boy is quickly becoming the talk of the shelter with his winsome face, tall lanky limbs, and super-duper sweetness! At 66 lbs. and an estimated age of 3 years old, Drako is like an overgrown puppy. After a proper introduction, he interacted nicely with our resident dog-testing canine. He's a bit leash reactive (it's more excitement than anything), which includes getting distracted easily by passing cars, sunbathing kitties, and other dogs passing by on leash. With daily exercise and positive leash-manners training, he will be walking like a champ in no time! Drako is relatively new to our shelter and we are still getting to know about him. One thing's for sure, he would love to have a home of his own! To set up a meet and greet with Drako, go to HSNB.org and fill out a dog adoption interest application. Story
Lexi is a delightful and loving 10 month old spayed dog. She is looking for an adopter with a calm, stable environment because the kiddos and volume of visitors in her current home has her on edge. Her family has realized that, as much as they love her, their busy home isn't as compatible with Lexi's needs as they hoped it would be. She’s smart and snuggly and does great with her immediate family. Lexi has attended puppy school at Napa Humane and is a model student! She sits, stays, spins and also shakes on cue. Lexi is crate trained and sleeps through the night. This puppy is a dream in the car. She runs next to a bike and is happy as a clam. Lexi is an excellent jogging companion, and she does pretty well on a lead for a young pup. Lexi enjoys harassing the resident cat on occasion, but they have learned to cohabitate. House guests, particularly the younger variety, are especially scary because of their volume, speed and unpredictability. This makes Lexi nippy. The volume of boisterous 8- and 10-year-old visitors in her current home means that Lexi is being kenneled more than they'd like in order to prevent any issues and keep everyone safe. Her family loves Lexi and they realize that rehoming her is the best way to help Lexi feel happier and more relaxed. Thank you for sharing to find Lexi her dream home! Please email Deryn with any questions or to meet Lexi: derynpeck@gmail.com   Come see this pup on Saturdays during adoption event hours. Please email Linda at lbredfire@sbcglobal.net or call WT&F's Dog Team voicemail 707-812-9030 to get a jump on the process, ask questions, and/or to confirm they will be there. Dog adoptions are held outside Napa Petco every Saturday - 12:30pm to 4:00pm. This dog comes spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and more with an adoption fee/donation to Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in Napa, CA. Story
"Daisy is about 9-years old. A short backstory about Daisy: Sometime mid 2023, Daisy was abandoned at a boarding facility, where she gave birth to pups. Daisy and her puppies were rescued by Cal Paws; all of her pups have since been adopted. At an unknown time in the past, Daisy was hit by a car and suffered an injury resulting in a "blind" right eye.  So, lets tell you about the Daisy we have come to know since the middle of 2023: sweet, calm, and lovingly responsive to kindness.    Daisy's favorite activity includes her morning and evening walks; and a few times a week, Daisy wil walk out to the back yard and suddenly engage in zooming around the yard, lasting for about 30 seconds, and then relaxing and rolling around. Personal favorites are the occasional treat, chewy toys and frozen femur bones .... and car rides.    Daisy's "Not Fun" list: not a water dog; pickup the water hose to water the garden, Daisy will go the opposite way. She does not like hoses or squirt bottles of any kind. She will occasionally lay in the back yard area, in the sun, by herself but she does not like to be left alone outside. She will walk outside with you, but as soon as you return to the house Daisy will immediately follow; often being first at the door to walk in with you.  Daisy knows "come, sit, stay, down (for treats), wait, No, leave it, heel (during walks), and will go to her crate when motioning with your hand and saying "Crate".    Daisy's LEASH MANNERS are excellent.  Daisy is absolutely great with strangers and children; loves to chase squirrels and cats that run along the top of the yard fences. (Hasn't even come close to ever making contact with them).  Daisy's House Manners are excellent: calm and responsive. At eating time, Daisy will sit patiently until given the okay to eat from the bowl. At home or on a walk, Daisy rarely barks. And when she does, it's one bark in a reaction to something. For example, if someone knocks on the front door Daisy will yelp out one bark.  Daisy truly enjoys car rides: She will, of course, "'call out shot gun'" as she makes her way to the front seat but is easily sent to the back seat, where she is attached to a doggie safety-buckle. Daisy remains calm throughout travels, sometimes resting her head at the top corner of the front seat.   The ideal place for Daisy is a calm environment ... Daisy enjoys her naps and staying nearby wherever you may be.  Another dog who is calm and not anxious would add to the ideal home for Daisy. ... Daisy would be a great addition to any person and/or family, who would be very lucky to have Daisy in their presence."  ##1841728##

Story
Dogs don't come any cuter than Daffodil! Daffodil is a 2-year-old bundle of fun who is eager to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. We haven't had the heart to tell her she is slightly too big to be a lap dog. Daffodil is fully grown and weighs around 55lbs. Daffodil came to us after she was found as a stray. One of our foster homes agreed to take her in until an owner was found, but an owner never came forward. A couple of weeks after she was found Daffodil gave birth to 9 puppies! Her puppies are now weaned and she and her babies are ready for their forever homes! Daffodil is a wiggly goofball and loves to explore and go on adventures. Now that she doesn't have to care for her babies she is ready to enjoy life and soak up all the human attention for herself. She can be a little cautious of new people, especially men, but with some tasty treats, she is quick to become your new BFF. Daffodil hasn't received any training but is very food-motivated and eager to learn. Her new family will need to be prepared to dedicate the time to work on her basic manners with her and help her be the best girl she can be. Daffodil has done well living with other dogs, but also wouldn't mind being your one and only canine companion. She needs a kitty-free home. Due to her rambunctious nature, Daffodil would do best with an adult-only home or with kids 14 years or older. Daffodil has been doing very well with her house and crate training. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well hanging out in there when home alone.  Daffodil is such a sweet girl and she deserves her happy-ever-after. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!   Daffodil's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. October 1, 2024, 5:02 pm
