Butchy, our 3 yr old, 120-pound American Bulldog, is for Rescue Placement only. While at the shelter Butchy has been able to make many human buddies. He loves to romp in the play yard with his tennis balls, splash in our doggy-pool (warmer weather), investigate on our creek trail and enjoy all the different scents of our flower garden. He earns plenty of treats from all the tricks he's learned. He also has found friends among his dog-walking buddies. Butchy was adopted as a puppy from a breeder, and lived with his family but there was an incident in the home where the family felt it was best to surrender him to the shelter. Butchy arrived to the shelter as a nervous 8-month-old puppy. He needed time to decompress so we could begin working with him. Butchy has shown the shelter staff and trainers he is eager to learn new things. He excelled in "how to trade", among other tricks. Butchy's ONLY option is to leave the shelter with an experienced rescue group that understands resource guarding & extra large breeds. Butchy will need a Board and Train facility so he can receive the much-needed continued behavior modification he deserves. Orson, our beloved 2.5 yr old, is one of the most adorable low-riders matched with a bulldog face that will melt your heart. He shines with personality, he could become your favorite friend, he wants to be part of the action, which to him includes, whatever you are working on and doing. He is a busy body and will make sure you don't forget he is around. Orson has energy to exert, he is happiest after he has walks outside, not just a stroll for 5-10 minutes, this chonky fella wants to explore. We have been working on his leash pulling and found he is very receptive to a gentle-leader. With his willingness to learn new things, he already knows "Sit" and "stay" (especially for a tasty treat). Orson does get excited, so he will need a home where you want to really work with him on his manners, he is a quick learner but will always try to see how far he can push. Orson loves his toys so much, that its not unlikely for him to be seen on a walk with a stuffy in his mouth. This 50+ pound pooch was born with muscle and he loves showing off his agility in the play yard. He will love to run around and play in your fenced yard, where he can frolic in the grass, fetch the balls and toys and above all, just hang out with you. Due to his strength and sometimes mouthiness, we recommend him to be in a home with teens (14+yr old). He is housebroken, living life in one of our offices, where he is often fitted for doggy-clothes, eating stuffed kongs and curling up in a crate (he goes to on his own) for a mid-day nap. He will win the contest for loudest snorer. Stretched out on his back, sleeping the day away. Orson is ready for his forever family to take him home! She was rescued from a shelter after she was found on the streets of Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria in 2017. She fit right in with her adopted family, and they have loved her ever since. Unfortunately, a new family member is allergic. Her family is heartbroken, desperately trying to find Maggy a happy home where she will be loved as she deserves. Maggy gets along great with the resident cat, even giving him kisses every morning 🥰 ! She loves going to dog parks, the beach or for a good road trip! Maggy is very gentle with & loves children of all ages. Above all, Maggy loves food, sleep and RUNNING! (She's also very good on leash for a nice leisurely walk!) CHARLESTON IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN. CHARLESTON WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    This hunk is Charleston. He is a four year old Bulldog mix. He is the sweetest fun loving goofball. He is a big boy who loves attention. He wants you to pet him, and he wants to lean into you with his whole body. He does not meet a stranger in a person or dog. He loves playing in the backyard with his toys, and then lounging on the porch sunbathing. He gets excited to go anywhere. He will run to the door and wait for you to let him out- then he jumps right in the car. This adorable boy has the most stunning eyes. We believe Charleston has some hearing loss. He seems to hear some pitches, but either doesn’t hear the others or ignores them. He does good walking on a leash, is kennel trained, and house trained. He loves greatly- he will become your shadow. If he wants your attention he will whine/talk to you to let you know. Charleston is a big boy with still a lot of puppy energy so a home with older children would be best. This guy is amazing, and deserves the perfect forever home! **POPPY IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED** Poppy is a silly and fun loving little 3 month old American Bulldog mix. (We were told the litter was full blooded American Bulldog, but we really have no idea/guarantees on her breed.) She is currently in a foster home with her siblings, Violet and Marshall, and other fur animals. She enjoys having someone to play with, but she can also be caught snoozing all by herself. She does follow her siblings when commands are given, so she may benefit from an older dog in the home to show her the ropes. She lives in a home with a 7 year old girl which has proven she is excellent with children. Poppy's favorite thing is to give KISSES. She will lick you all day to show her affection. She is an amazingly sweet and playful puppy. She is working on her sit command and is treat motivated. We are working on pottying outside which is going really well.  Poppy is looking for her forever home that will continue her training since she is still a puppy with lots of puppy behavior. Poppy will be available for travel Memorial Day weekend to head to CT, but she is currently taking applications for her NEW BEST FRIEND, and she cannot wait!  Upon adoption, Poppy will be fully vetted including all shots; she will be spayed and microchipped. She's also current on heartworm prevention. Poppy's adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to CT.
