Story
💙 Meet Tru 💙Our big-hearted bulldozer with an even bigger personality!Tru has been at the Marion Area Humane Society for far too long, and every day he reminds us why he deserves the best home ever. He’s a big, goofy boy who loves nothing more than to romp around outside, soaking up the sun with his favorite toys. Stuffy toys, squeaky toys, chew bones—you name it, he loves it! His toy collection is basically his pride and joy, and he never turns down a treat (or five).Tru might look like a tough guy, but underneath all that muscle and mischief is a dog who just wants to be loved. He’s happiest when he’s playing hard, rolling in the grass, or carrying three toys in his mouth at once like it’s an Olympic event. He gets along great with other dogs who share his rough-and-tumble playstyle, but he would do best in a home without cats or young children—he doesn’t always realize his own strength.Tru has spent so much time waiting for someone to see past his big body and silly antics to the incredible heart inside. He’s loyal, loving, and full of life, and he’s ready to finally trade his kennel for a backyard and a family of his own.If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh every single day, keep your toy budget on its toes, and love you with everything he’s got—Tru is your guy. 💙More information? Story
Meet Lt. Dan Meet Lt. Dan — one year old, American Bully Pocket, full-time heartthrob, part-time speed demon (currently operating under a temporary speed restriction). He was born with congenital elbow dysplasia and a rotational deformity, which sounds very serious… but Lt. Dan remains unimpressed. Surgery? Not happening. Sympathy? Hard pass. A wheelchair? Pending delivery. And make no mistake: the only thing slowing this guy down right now is the lack of wheels. Once those arrive, physics will once again be challenged. Lt. Dan is pain-free, carefree, and absolutely convinced he’s the main character in every room he enters. He LOVES kids, LOVES other dogs, and will probably LOVE you too—unless you’re a squirrel, in which case negotiations may be required. He’s a special-needs boy on the outside and a certified adventure bro on the inside, ready to roll (very soon, literally) into his next chapter. If you’re looking for a compact comedian with an absurd amount of charm, Lt. Dan is reporting for duty.

Story
My name is Bloom! I’m about 1 year old and weigh 50 pounds. I am very gentle, love meeting new people and will happily cuddle all day especially if there are tummy rubs involved. My favorite place to sit is wherever my human is sitting and I’m happy to keep your place warm while you run to the fridge. I do well with other dogs however if they are mean and bark at me first, I will eventually bark back. Life’s too short for haters! I’ve seen lots of birds, cats, bunnies, squirrels and deer in my life and although I wanted to check out the deer, I wasn’t very interested in the others. When I get really happy, I will smile. To be honest, it’s still a work in progress and looks a little funny but I think it’s important to offer my human positive feedback when they get something right.I’ve been working very hard on potty training. Now that my life has settled down, I am doing pretty well in that department. I don’t love getting baths but, in general, I trust that my human is doing the right thing for me and will quietly stand there until we’re all clean. I’ve also learned that getting dried with a towel includes tummy rubs so I’ll put up with the washing part. I’m starting to learn some commands but still have a lot of potential. I think I understand what “no” means but sometimes reserve the right to ignore it based on the situation. I let my human know how much I love them all the time and would love to have a forever family to love me back. I look forward to the chance to see and sniff you in person!
