*This dog is located in the Niagara area*Apply to PALLIATIVE FOSTER at rebeldogrescue.com*Hey yall, Im Otis! One of my hobbies is napping, whether it be on your carpet or in your lap. I might be 65lb, but weighted blankets are a thing these days right!? I love being outdoors, and I use my nose to sniff around and take in all the fresh air. I would like to say that Im a total love bug once I get to know you! Otis has embarked on a board & train program following minor bite incidents so that we could learn more about how we can help Otis succeed and become a well-balanced and confident dog. From Otis' trainer:After working with Otis in our board and train program we have discovered he is not an aggressive dog. Otis is nervous, sensitive and fearful. Mainly to new people and loud noises. He needs an owner who will continue his training. He has learnt place, leash walking, crate training, sit, recall, release command, waiting at thresholds and waiting for food. Otis responds well to a calm, confident leader. He needs someone to help with his decision making. He is not a high energy dog so the walks and keeping his training up is all he needs. Otis will also need an owner who advocates for him, so that means making sure not to let strangers walk up on him. He is unsure of loud noises and even the vacuum cleaner. We continue to teach Otis how to walk away when he feels nervous instead of becoming defensive. This is another example of advocating for him. His new must be stepping in when he feels nervous and getting him to a place where he feels confident and safe. Otis is looking to put his bite history in the past. We are confident with the right owner he will be successful and make a wonderful companion!Name: Otis Weight: ~65lbAge ~6 yearsGender: MaleBreed: American bulldog mixColour: WhiteMedical: Skin cancer, treated for heartworms, received dental cleaning, possible allergies and has been received penicillin inj and dexamethasone inj. Story
Ash is located in St. Catharine's Ontario All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Ash reminds us of the best little Chubby Boy Scout who wants nothing more than to please. He is extremely social and has done great with dogs of all sizes, sexes, and temperaments. He is generally calm in the kennel and loves affection from his person. Ash pulls a little on the leash and needs to be reminded not to jump sometimes - but is very friendly and trainable. He is truly a one size fits all dog as we have not seen him be in any circumstances that he didnt absolutely thrive in. Ash is a young soul - but is a mature dog who will correct a dog who isn't being respectful if he needs to, but quickly returns to his normal playful state. We walked Ash on leash through our cat room - he got swatted at - and ran away! Ash would do best in a home with another dog friend and someone ready to live a moderately active lifestyle.Ideal Home: Ash would do best in a home that allows him on the couch / bed / and any other place his people are relaxing ( as he loves to cuddle ). He would like a medium energy level dog friend who can respectfully play with him. Name: AshBreed: American Bulldog mixAge: ~5.5 years Weight: ~62lb 'very well fed' Sex: Male, neutered Colour: Black and whiteMedical: 4/16/24 during his neuter we removed a blueberry sized mass from his testicle; received treatments for heartworms; no concerns Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Yes, but has not lived with small childrenGood with kids 6+: Yes, but has not lived with childrenGood with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogs. He would prefer a big dog not come barreling at him too quickly at the first intro. He has been off leash with dominant dogs / submissive dogs / low energy dogs - and would prefer a dog that is respectful of his space but that also is outgoing and wants to run and play.Good with cats: Yes, lives with cats in fosterHouse trained: Almost perfectly house trained - about 90% thereCrate trained: Yes, has to be placed in his crate but settles quickly and quietly Resource guarding: None seen Walks on a leash: Walks well, pulls a bit Energy level: MediumRequires detached/single home: Preferred Separation anxiety: None notedBarker: Average

HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HER My granny used to look at my pretty white coat and my soft brown eyes and tell me that I was the diamond in the coal mine. "Never worry, Raye," she'd say, "with a face that pretty there's always going to be a home for you!" I sure hope granny was right, cause boy oh boy! I could use a home about now. I'm looking forward to buckling down and excelling at doggy classes and hopefully making you so proud of me, that you'll never let me go! I need a home without children and without other dogs. Name: Rayse Weight: 60 lbs Age: 3 years Gender: Female Breed: American Bulldog mix Color: White/Brown Good With Adults: People selective Good With Kids: no Good With Other Dogs: Prefers to be the only dog Good With Cats: No, she has high prey drive Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy Level: Medium Can be handled/touched: Yes Barker: some, when she's scared Escape Artist: Yes Food Aggressive: With other dogs Walks on Leash: Pulls Rides well in car: Yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: Yes Needs a home with another dog-Prefers to be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. Needs a fenced in yard to play in. Foster comments: She barks when she's scared, but as we've been working on her sense of security and confidence, it's happening less and less. For introductions to new adult humans, it's best if it's done outside when she isn't startled by their arrival. She warms up very quickly and is very friendly and playful. Training Update: This girl has come so far in her training and learning to trust people, she is doing basic trainingright now with one of our trainers and is doing great!! Rayse is part of our dog walking group and everyone that takes her on adventures absolutely adore her. When she is in a home she has a few fears but with a patient adopter that will show her leadership she will do very well , Rayse loves to be praised for good behavior and really wants to please . This gir has overcome some really big obstacles in the past few months and is now ready for her happy ending . She would excel in a quite home with lots of love and walks ( she loves the water ) the beach is her favorite. She is on special food which is only 60.00 for a 25lb bag and she is worth it . This girl really deserves her happy tail ending . Come meet her and lets take her for walk and you will see what all of us see!!!

HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HIM Must have bulldog experience Name: Stallone (20210614-02) Weight: 70lbs Age: 4 years Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Neutered Breed: American Bulldog/Lab mix Colour: Black/White Neck size (for collar): medium martingale collar Chest circumference (for harness): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: 36” Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: No Good with other dogs: No Good with cats: Lived in a home with cats, but he does chase them, never allowed it to get to the point of interaction. Dog savvy cats might be ok, but likely better in a home without cats House trained: Yes Crate trained: He needs a crate to sleep in and self soothe in. Will go in on his own but runs out if he thinks you'll close the door. Energy level: Moderate. He enjoys daily walks and outside playtime but also enjoys lounging and hanging out. Can be handled/touched: if indoors, only once he’s comfortable, then absolutely enjoys being petted. If he is anxious, he does not like being touched on his head or neck, and he will growl. Best to watch for the warning signs and only pet if he’s okay with it. If he’s outdoors, he appears more confident and is okay with being pet. Barker: He can demand bark at times when he wants to do something such as go outside or when he’s left for an extended period of time. Flight risk: No Food aggressive: No Current food: He will eat any dog food as long as it’s mixed with a little bit of wet food in the start. Slowly start to decrease wet food and he’ll start to eat the dry on its own Walks on leash: needs a front-clip harness, as does not walk well on flat collar. He’s a great walker on a front clip harness. Leash reactive to people or dogs: He gets excited to see people he knows and will bark for their attention. Reactive, no. Rides well in car: Doesn’t love the car. Barks the entire time. He has not had enough time to practice many car rides, so there’s opportunities for improvement Destructive: No. Needs a home with a yard: That would be great but we don’t believe he needs it. He enjoys walks. Needs a home with another dog: no, he should be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. He is too vocal for an apartment or condo building Some information to note from our experiences: Stallone is incredibly affectionate, playful, and silly. He enjoys playing with toys, people, and other dogs. He was in playgroups with many other dogs and did very well. He did not appreciate a spray bottle being used on another dog and barked/growled at the lead handler in the yard. He did not progress beyond barking/growling. We would recommend training based on rewarding desired behaviors and responding to negative behaviors by removing a wanted thing rather than adding a punishment. Stallone is used to trading toys our behavior coordinator has not noticed any guarding behavior but recommends continuing the swapping/trading method for retrieving toys. Stallone enjoys chew bones, Vienna sausages (as rewards). Updated foster comments: Stallone loves to attach himself to one person and follow you everywhere. He is extremely loving to those he trusts. He'd be ideal for a couple or single person without kids. He walks amazing. He licks a lot and is so excited to see you when you come home. Though very anxious he is not destructive and just lays and waits for you to come home. Only whining for a few minutes. He plays rough with dogs but loves to play. He's a wonderful dog. Kids heighten his anxiety, so he needs a home without small kids. Whoever gets him will get a great dog.

Hanky Panky is our shelter goof ball! Big, Strong, Clumbsy, Highly Active, Playful, Foodie ... these are all terms that fits perfectly for Hank! Hank arrived to our shelter as a stray and so his history is a little unclear. While he has been staying with us we find Hank to be an Adult that hasn`t outgrown his puppy behaviour quite yet! You can often find Hank in the park running around, playing fetch, tug-o-war or simply just seeking some affection. He loves to be by your side and if treats are involved - He`s in! Hank loves to make friends, but is shy at first. He does take a few moments and yummy treats to open him up and taking that step to becoming your best friend. Once he feels safe, you`ll see him bounce off the walls for you to show how much your friendship means to him! Training is a work in progress and will require ongoing work with basic training and manners, as well as socialization. Hank would do best in a home with experienced owners who are comfortable with training a strong boy and an understanding of behavioural cues. He would also do best as the only pet in the home at this time. If you`re ready for our goof Hank please contact Toronto Animal Services - West Shelter at 416-338-6271 to start the adoption process.

Story
Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you??He`s right here at Toronto Animal Services West Region as a matter of fact! This charming, active and goofy young boy brings all the fun, thrills and excitement of his namesake cartoon character. So be prepared for unexpected adventures around every corner!Mr Scoob LOVES to be around his people; whether it`s going for a nice long walk, engaging in a wrestling match, playing a game of fetch or tug in the park, or having a snooze in front of the TV. He`s gonna be your new best friend!A typical Bully-breed dog through and through, Scoob thinks nothing of leaping up into your lap and smothering you with sloppy kisses. His enthusiasm and zest for life is evident in the way he eagerly drags us out to the park every time we walk, and how he jumps up to greet everyone he encounters.Family`s with young children may find him a bit too boisterous. Though he has not met a doggie playmate here at the shelter, we feel a nice careful introduction to other well-mannered dogs may result in an excellent play session. When it comes to cats - we have no idea how that may pan out.Scoob is a little on the lean side, and could benefit from putting on a couple pounds. Scoob was recently neutered and is still recovering. He is currently wearing a satellite dish (much to his displeasure) to speed up recovery time! For more information on Scoob`s quirks and charms, and to learn about our adoption process, please contact our West Region shelter at 416-338-PAWS (7297). We are open from 10:30AM to 6:30PM!

Story
Smooch (named Schmoopie in the shelter) was saved from being killed at BARC in Houston on April 16, 2024, where he'd been taken in as a stray. He was absolutely petrified in his little cell, not trusting anyone and not wanting anyone to touch him. For 5 days, he huddled in a ball in the corner of his little cell, shaking in fear, begging to be left alone. He was so scared that any time anyone tried to get near him, he growled until they moved away again. Dogs like that don't last long at the shelter, and it was only a few days before Smoochie was put on the list to be killed. Seeing the fear in his eyes, we decided to give this guy a chance, and boy are we ever glad we did! We got him out of danger at the last minute and whisked him off to a foster home to let him decompress in peace. After a few days of quiet crate time, he finally started to show his true loving nature. He is the MOST loving and affectionate doggy on the planet! All he wants is to be close to his person, to be snuggled and held. Sure, he loves treats, but we think he loves praise and attention even more. He's young and healthy and ready to fall in love. The one thing about Smoochie is that he really hates other dogs. We're convinced he's had trauma in his past, and we don't think this is something he should be expected to get over -- he's told us in no uncertain terms that he will only be happy living apart from other dogs. Of course this limits his opportunities to find the perfect home, but the good news is that he's fine with cats! Wooohoo!Sadly Smoochie's shares his foster home in Texas with several other dogs, so he spends more time in his crate than a dog should. He badly needs out. He needs his own family to adore and be adored by. He can travel to most corners of the US and many parts of Canada! Please go to our Facebook page or our website, lastminutedogrescue.com, to complete an application! Story
Karma is currently in a foster home in Oklahoma. She's available for adoption throughout the US and Ontario. We still haven't found anyone who's met Karma and hasn't fallen in love with her. She is the SWEETEST! She's as loving and affectionate as they come. Calm, quiet and relaxed, Karma's happy to hang out in the grass with the other dogs or sit at your feet while you work. She's wild about toys...not necessarliy playing with them, just having them -- she goes around the house collecting them to make a pile on her own bed. So darling! She doesn't have an aggressive or feisty cell anywhere in that squishy doughboy body of hers! On top of being sweet and gentle, she's also hilariously cute, with her one little eyebrow and a perfect giant spot right on her rump. Karma's going to be the light of someone's life! Karma was originally rescued from BARC in Houston back in February 2024. She was with another rescue that ended up finding themselves overwhelmed with too many available dogs, and Karma just didn't get the exposure she needed to get adopted. We've taken her on now and can't wait to get this adorable doll into the loving forever home she deserves!
