Story
Hanky Panky is our shelter goof ball! Big, Strong, Clumbsy, Highly Active, Playful, Foodie ... these are all terms that fits perfectly for Hank! Hank arrived to our shelter as a stray and so his history is a little unclear. While he has been staying with us we find Hank to be an Adult that hasn`t outgrown his puppy behaviour quite yet! You can often find Hank in the park running around, playing fetch, tug-o-war or simply just seeking some affection. He loves to be by your side and if treats are involved - He`s in! Hank loves to make friends, but is shy at first. He does take a few moments and yummy treats to open him up and taking that step to becoming your best friend. Once he feels safe, you`ll see him bounce off the walls for you to show how much your friendship means to him! Training is a work in progress and will require ongoing work with basic training and manners, as well as socialization. Hank would do best in a home with experienced owners who are comfortable with training a strong boy and an understanding of behavioural cues. He would also do best as the only pet in the home at this time. If you`re ready for our goof Hank please contact Toronto Animal Services - West Shelter at 416-338-6271 to start the adoption process.

Story
Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you??He`s right here at Toronto Animal Services West Region as a matter of fact! This charming, active and goofy young boy brings all the fun, thrills and excitement of his namesake cartoon character. So be prepared for unexpected adventures around every corner!Mr Scoob LOVES to be around his people; whether it`s going for a nice long walk, engaging in a wrestling match, playing a game of fetch or tug in the park, or having a snooze in front of the TV. He`s gonna be your new best friend!A typical Bully-breed dog through and through, Scoob thinks nothing of leaping up into your lap and smothering you with sloppy kisses. His enthusiasm and zest for life is evident in the way he eagerly drags us out to the park every time we walk, and how he jumps up to greet everyone he encounters.Family`s with young children may find him a bit too boisterous. Though he has not met a doggie playmate here at the shelter, we feel a nice careful introduction to other well-mannered dogs may result in an excellent play session. When it comes to cats - we have no idea how that may pan out.Scoob is a little on the lean side, and could benefit from putting on a couple pounds. Scoob was recently neutered and is still recovering. He is currently wearing a satellite dish (much to his displeasure) to speed up recovery time! For more information on Scoob`s quirks and charms, and to learn about our adoption process, please contact our West Region shelter at 416-338-PAWS (7297). We are open from 10:30AM to 6:30PM!

Meet the handsome McFly! Named for the classic, Marty McFly, from Back to the Future. This McFly is on his own epic journey, searching for his very own forever home! McFly is your typical bully mix, full of beans and super sweet with his people. This adorable pup is sure to win over your heart with his good looks and sweetheart personality. McFly loves to be outdoors and would love a family that will include him in their outdoor activities. He would be a great hiking buddy! He also loves car rides and will make a great companion for all your adventures. McFly is one smart cookie! He already knows a few commands and even takes his treats gently. What a good boy! He is crate trained and does not bark in the crate, though he will bark sometimes when playing. He is still learning some leash manners as he can pull but he would likely respond well to consistent positive reinforcement training to help him be a star at walking on leash. Initially McFly was quite fearful but has improved with time and has become less so. He seems to be a bit wary of strangers and new people. He would benefit from a home that would help build his confidence and become more comfortable with handling and new people. McFly has shown some reactivity towards other dogs as he has reacted back when other dogs have barked and lunged at him. He has done better around more neutral dogs. With the right family, McFly will flourish into a truly amazing dog! If McFly sounds like the perfect fit for you, please submit a Canine application: covetedcanines.org/application

Story
Meet Winston, a 7-8 year-old boxer mix, is a sweet, gentle soul who’s been dealt an unfair hand in life. Abandoned and brought to a shelter in Quebec, he faced the heartbreaking reality of being scheduled for euthanasia due to his significant medical needs, including bilateral perineal hernias and two fractured teeth. The shelter, unable to provide the level of care he required, had no other options. But just when hope seemed lost, Team Dog Rescue was contacted and was able to give Winston the chance he deserved. Despite everything he’s been through, Winston is a true gem, radiating joy and affection wherever he goes. He meets each day with a wagging tail and endless affection, ready to befriend kids, dogs, cats and any human lucky enough to cross his path. But his one true love above all else is fetch. With a tennis ball in sight, Winston’s focus sharpens and pure happiness lights up his eyes. He can even shake his nerves at the vet when he proudly carries his prized ball around. When it’s time to wind down, Winston’s second favourite thing in the world is cuddling. He loves snuggling up on the couch for belly rubs, where he’ll melt into your side, drifting into a peaceful, snoring sleep. Even though Winston has been a brave little soldier since the day he was found, he has exhibited separation anxiety when left alone in enclosed rooms. He’d excel in a home where he can be left to roam the house freely and where someone is around more often than not, especially during the first few months as he adjusts. With training and support, Winston has made great progress and is ready to continue building his confidence in a patient and understanding home. Winston’s medical journey is already underway, with surgery to repair his hernias scheduled for next week. While he recovers in his foster home, we’d love to begin the adoption process so he can transition to his forever home once he’s feeling better. He will still need to have his fractured teeth repaired, but we don’t want this sweet, sensitive boy to wait too long to find his family. We’ll continue to work with our vet partners to ensure his dental care is completed once he’s adopted. Winston is ready for a fresh start with a family who will show him the love he’s always deserved. This sweet boy is eager to be your loyal companion, whether it’s joining you on life’s adventures or curling up for quiet moments on the couch. Winston has so much love to give and is ready to embrace life’s second chances. If you’re ready to be the family that changes his life, visit www.teamdogrescue.ca/adoptables and apply to make Winston a part of your story.
