Story
Kolachi is an outgoing, sociable and fun puppy who lives to give kisses. He is one of a litter of pups surrendered to PUP to be re-homed. The family had two adult females dogs who had pups at about the same time. Not being fussy, the pups happily nursed on and were cared for by both mommies. We do not have a picture of mom but were told she is cream colored and about 30# with a short coat. That fits with what the pups look like. We have no clue who daddy might be. The mommies did a good job caring for them and the puppies arrived at their foster home in good health. We had DNA testing done on one pup from the litter. Here is what we found: 22 breeds including Asian, herding, guard, sporting, terrier, companion and street dog. Here they all are: Siberian Husky, Chow, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed, Chinese Shar-Pei, Shiba Inu, German Shepherd, Border Collie, Australian Cattle Dog, White Swiss Shepherd, Great Pytenees, Amercian Pit Bull, American Staffordshire terrier, Bull Mastiff, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Chihuahua, Dachshund, Norwegian Elkhound, American Eskimo, Poodle and Carolina Dog. Bottom line, a bit of every thing and no possibility of inbreeding. We think Kolachi will be mid-size when full grown but that is best guess and his adopter should be ready to love and cuddle pup if he is larger or smaller than predicted. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, is vaccinated, and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopters expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done by 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered by 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. Professional photos by Clara Metivier, snap shots by foster.

We think Kolachi will be mid-size when full grown but that is best guess and his adopter should be ready to love and cuddle pup if he is larger or smaller than predicted. He is reliably using newspapers in the house and is going outside to potty much of the time, so house breaking started, not completed.
