Story
10-Year-Old American Eskimo I’m looking for a loving new home for my 10-year-old American Eskimo. He is a sweet, friendly dog and great with kids. He has a gentle personality, enjoys attention, and still has plenty of energy for walks and playtime. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I’m no longer able to keep him, and I want to make sure he goes to a safe, caring home where he’ll be loved. He is house-trained, well-behaved indoors, and loves being around people. He’s also very loyal and enjoys simple routines like relaxing near you, going for short walks, and being brushed. He would be perfect for a family or someone who wants a calm, affectionate companion. I’m hoping to find someone who can give him the comfort, patience, and stability he deserves. Serious, responsible inquiries only—his happiness is my priority. He has always been a loving part of our family, and I truly want to find someone who will appreciate his gentle nature. If you feel you can provide a warm stabl

Story
Phoebe would make an amazing dog for a pet-free, child-free home. She is great on a leash, house-trained, crate-trained. She does require inexpensive maintenance medication for incontinence due to birth defects that were surgically treated. She has not had any incidents of incontinence since being placed on her medication regimen, so it is well-managed. She is up to date on all vax as well as heartworm/flea/tick. Will provide new owner with all meds and a supply of food. She needs to be rehomed due to her penchant for picking fights with larger dogs in the household and losing those fights.

He has been neutered, microchipped, is up to date in vaccines, and had a dental cleaning in September. Buckley is wonderful with all the other eskies at the ranch and with visiting dogs (see videos). Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization or individual. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him/her. Kiba is a lap dog if you let him. He is 10 but has so much life left to live. His favorite place in the world is the mountains. He frequently visits the Blue Ridge Parkway and loves to go in the creek. His favorite spots include the Peaks of Otter lodge and Little Otter River, as well as any lake in the region. He is great on leash, and has a great recall. He used to be a therapy dog and has retained much of his training even into his old age. His ideal home would have a yard, or woods. Maybe even chickens. He has lived on a farm with ducks, chickens and other animals his whole life up until this year. Apartment life is stressing him out a lot. He takes his duties as a livestock and home watchdog seriously and the comings and goings of apartment life stress him out tremendously. He has recently become very anxious in a crate but we credit this to him being left alone more than we would like him to be. He has no preference to men or women. He loves anyone and everyone who will give him attention. He loves squeaky fluffy toys and takes good care of his toys. He loves having his own stuffies and donut shaped pillows. His ideal family would also enjoy spending time in the woods and mountains, and let him visit the creek. He is well mannered and knows all basic commands. We had been monitoring him for thyroid issues as he ages. Following some excessive drinking, we had a check up donw his bloodwork came back fine, but it is something we want to be aware of in the years ahead. The vet said he looks very healthy. He may be due for a deworming. He is sensitive to food changes. Chicken based foods cause him to itch, so we try to find Salmon/Lamb based foods to help him.For more information please contact Adam  Adamrexrode96@gmail.comRehoming fee appliesVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 29, 2025, 12:45 pm
