He a BIG cuddle buddy who regularly will love on you and be all on you. Hes good with kids, loves to spend lots of time with the family and be Up uour butt if you allow him. He likes his cook food as well as belly rubs nonstop, lol he likes to take walks, but he does never been an outside dog for some odd reason he Does not like baths. lol or the rain. He loves to play & sleep with you

Story
Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it’s been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Hi, I'm Piper Jones! People tell me that my fur is a beautiful blue color. It's funny, my foster family thinks that my coat should be red because I'm a little spicy! I'm a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and I originally lived in a home with 50 other dogs, so I didn't get much attention. I like attention from people and I bond strongly with those who love on me. I especially like ladies and it takes me a little longer to warm up to men. I would prefer a home without young children. I get along well with cats, and dogs that are my size or larger. I have lots of energy and love to run around the yard.  Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Piper Jones the home she deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. If I say so myself, I, Mystic, am a beautiful 3 year old chihuahua mix. I like people, am friendly with other dogs and cats too (although if they run, I do like to chase them. Since most kitties are almost as big as me, I'm not sure what I would do if I caught up to one!) I have been enjoying my play dates at Velvet Snout with other dogs, and it helps me to burn off some energy. I really would like a yard where I can run around and chase the squirrels.  My foster family says I have nice house manners! I started out in life in a hoarding situation with about 50 other dogs, so there wasn't much chance for me to get individual attention. I love it now!
