Story
Hi, I'm Piper Jones! People tell me that my fur is a beautiful blue color. It's funny, my foster family thinks that my coat should be red because I'm a little spicy! I'm a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and I originally lived in a home with 50 other dogs, so I didn't get much attention. I like attention from people and I bond strongly with those who love on me. I especially like ladies and it takes me a little longer to warm up to men. I would prefer a home without young children. I get along well with cats, and dogs that are my size or larger. I have lots of energy and love to run around the yard.  Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Piper Jones the home she deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs. ##2476417##

Story
If I say so myself, I, Mystic, am a beautiful 3 year old chihuahua mix. I like people, am friendly with other dogs and cats too (although if they run, I do like to chase them. Since most kitties are almost as big as me, I'm not sure what I would do if I caught up to one!) I have been enjoying my play dates at Velvet Snout with other dogs, and it helps me to burn off some energy. I really would like a yard where I can run around and chase the squirrels.  My foster family says I have nice house manners! I started out in life in a hoarding situation with about 50 other dogs, so there wasn't much chance for me to get individual attention. I love it now! Come meet me at a Meet the Pets event or complete an adoption application!! Story
Meet Cholula! This sweet and spicy little lady is a young mama who's done a fantastic job raising her pups and now it’s her time to enjoy all the fun puppy life has to offer! A Chi-Dachshund (Chiweenie) mix, Cholula is the perfect size for cuddles but has enough spunk for games of tug, chase, and catch. She’s ready for a home with a yard where she can zoom and play to her heart's content. Cholula is fully housebroken, loves kids, and gets along great with dogs of all sizes. She would thrive in a home with another playful pup or children to keep her company. After playtime, she's all about curling up in your lap for a belly rub and a nap. This affectionate girl would love a cozy spot on the couch and a forever family to share it with. If you're looking for a playful, loving companion who’s ready to soak up the good life, Cholula is your girl! ##2431503##

Story
Meet Stitch: The Chihuahua with a Heart Waiting to Trust Again Introducing Stitch, a 5-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 13 pounds. Stitch was recently surrendered to Chloe’s Pet Rescue after his owners were displaced. Adopted from the SPCA several years ago, Stitch likely hasn’t seen a vet since—but we’re happy to report he is heartworm negative and ready to find a home where he can finally feel safe and loved. Chihuahuas have a reputation for being a bit particular, and Stitch is no exception. He is not a dog for everyone and absolutely cannot go to a home with children. Stitch needs someone with patience and a gentle touch to help him feel comfortable and learn to trust again. We don’t know what he’s been through in the past, but we do know that with the right person, he can learn what it truly means to be loved. If you’re up for the challenge and have the heart to give Stitch the love and understanding he needs, please submit your adoption application today. We are also searching for a foster home where Stitch can begin his journey of healing and trust. Are you the one who can show Stitch what love really is? Apply now to make a difference in your life (Dallas TX) https://chloespetrescue.org/application

Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Treated for Heartworms, but still testing medium positive.  ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Meet Lil Buff, the sweetest, most laid-back boy you'll ever meet! At 7 years old and a petite 7.5lbs, Lil Buff is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loving and mellow friend. He adores attention and loves to snuggle right next to his person on the couch or in bed. While he may bark occasionally, it's rare, and his favorite pastime is simply sunbathing in the backyard. Lil Buff has been treated for heartworms and is still on his journey to full recovery, so we keep things calm and quiet to help him heal. He may show some interest in chasing the cat, but he's wise enough to know when to rethink that plan—especially when it's a one-on-one situation! Buff is great at using the dog door, enjoys his meals, and loves a good nap. He's currently working on his house manners and has discovered that he absolutely loves carrots! This playful and adorable boy also gets along well with other dogs, making him a lovely addition to any home. Lil Buff deserves all the love and hugs a dog could ask for. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this charming little guy, apply today to make Lil Buff yours! -- Where did he come from:  He came to our rescue from a hoarding situation.
