Story
Hi, I'm Piper Jones! People tell me that my fur is a beautiful blue color. It's funny, my foster family thinks that my coat should be red because I'm a little spicy! I'm a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and I originally lived in a home with 50 other dogs, so I didn't get much attention. I like attention from people and I bond strongly with those who love on me. I especially like ladies and it takes me a little longer to warm up to men. I would prefer a home without young children. I get along well with cats, and dogs that are my size or larger. I have lots of energy and love to run around the yard. I want to stay with my friend Mystic because we love to play and have more confidence when we're together.  Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Piper Jones the home she deserves! Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. If I say so myself, I am a beautiful 3 year old chihuahua mix. I like people, am friendly with other dogs and cats too (although if they run, I do like to chase them. Since most kitties are almost as big as me, I'm not sure what I would do if I caught up to one!) I have been enjoying my play dates at Velvet Snout with other dogs, and it helps me to burn off some energy. I really would like a yard where I can run around and chase the squirrels. I want to stay with my friend Piper Jones, because we love to play and I have a lot more confidence when I'm with her.  My foster family says I have nice house manners! I started out in life in a hoarding situation with about 50 other dogs, so there wasn't much chance for me to get individual attention. I love it now! It takes me awhile to warm up particularly with men, but I will eventually learn to trust!  Come meet me at a Meet the Pets event or complete an adoption application!! Meet Peanut – Your Tiny Shadow with a Big Heart! If you're looking for a puppy who believes there's no such thing as being too close to the people he loves, Peanut is ready to fill that role! This sweet Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix is a champion cuddler who loves nothing more than snuggling up beside his favorite person. Whether he's napping with his little paw resting against your arm or curled up touching your leg, Peanut always likes to stay connected to the people he loves. Don't let his calm personality fool you—Peanut still has plenty of puppy fun in him! He loves spending time outdoors, proudly keeping watch for those "dangerous" squirrels and racing around the yard with the other foster dogs during his joyful zoomie sessions. Once playtime is over, he's perfectly content settling in for ear scratches, belly rubs, and another cozy cuddle. Peanut is a very laid-back little guy who rarely barks and has an easygoing personality that makes him a wonderful companion. He's doing great with potty training and confidently uses a doggy door, though, like any young puppy, he may still have an occasional accident as he continues learning. He's also working on crate training and happily eats his meals in his crate, even though he'd much rather spend the night snuggled up with his people—or curled up back-to-back with his beloved brother, Snoopy. This handsome boy has a healthy appetite and is highly treat-motivated, making future training fun and rewarding. He enjoys the company of other small dogs but can be a little unsure around larger ones. Peanut has not yet been tested with cats or children. He tolerated bath time like a champ, although swimming pools definitely aren't his idea of fun! One thing to know is that Peanut can get carsick, but riding safely buckled into the back seat in a harness has worked well for him. If you're dreaming of a loyal little companion who will happily follow you from room to room, keep you company on the couch, and remind you every day just how wonderful puppy snuggles can be, Peanut may be the perfect addition to your family. Could this affectionate little cuddle bug be the missing piece your home has been waiting for? ##2766752##

Story
Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection.  Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. If you are that special person, willing to give me a chance at my forever home, I can return that with loyalty and love. Let's meet and see if we can make the best team and live our best lives together. Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Pugsley the home he deserves! Meet Snoopy – The Happy-Go-Lucky Puppy Who's Full of Kisses! If happiness had four legs and a wagging tail, it would be Snoopy! This adorable Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix is full of personality and brings joy wherever he goes. He's the kind of puppy who greets each day with excitement, whether he's exploring the backyard, chasing his dog friends, or showering his favorite humans with sweet puppy kisses. Snoopy is a social butterfly who loves being around people and other dogs. He's quick to make friends and fits right in with his foster siblings. When playtime is over, Snoopy turns into an expert snuggler. He's incredibly affectionate and has a funny habit of giving kisses wherever he can—your face, your hands, even your toes aren't safe from this little love bug! His adorable snaggle-tooth smile only adds to his irresistible charm and is guaranteed to make you smile right back. While Snoopy enjoys relaxing with his people, he's definitely the more active brother and would love a family that can keep up with his playful spirit. Whether it's backyard adventures, walks, games, or simply exploring the world together, Snoopy is happiest when he's part of the action. This curious little guy also loves keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the windowsill, watching the world go by and making sure nothing interesting escapes his attention. He's a bit more vocal than his brother, but it's simply part of his expressive, happy personality. He's making great progress with house training and confidently uses a doggy door, though he's still learning and may have the occasional accident as any puppy would. He's also working on crate training and willingly eats his meals in his crate. Snoopy enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those closer to his size, and has not yet been tested with cats or children. With his playful energy, loving heart, and easygoing nature, Snoopy would make a wonderful companion for an active individual, couple, or young family looking for a puppy to grow up alongside. If you're searching for a best friend who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and never miss an opportunity to hand out kisses, Snoopy is ready to meet you!  ##2766755##

Story
Hi! My name is Pocket, and just like my name, I’m the perfect little companion to keep close. I’m a 6 year old Chihuahua weighing in at a whopping 7 pounds of cuddles and character. I’m a pretty low-maintenance guy. While my foster human works during the day, you’ll usually find me snoozing peacefully in my favorite cave bed. I love having a cozy place to burrow, and I’m an expert napper. When I’m awake, my favorite place is outside! Give me a sunny backyard and I’ll happily spend time soaking up the rays. I’m not much of a leash walker yet, so a fenced yard would be my dream. The good news? My recall is fantastic. I come running when I’m called! One of my greatest talents is my adorable happy dance. Every mealtime is worth celebrating, so I spin the cutest little twirls when I see my food coming. I also love plush toys and playing fetch, proving that little dogs can have big fun! At bedtime, I’m the perfect gentleman. I love my crate, sleep through the entire night without making a sound, and wake up ready for another great day. I’m friendly with other dogs and people, too. My favorite way to show affection is by cuddling up next to you. I just ask that you pick me up gently and slowly, since that helps me feel safe and comfortable. I’d probably be happiest in a quieter home where I can relax and enjoy life’s simple pleasures, but I’m adaptable as long as I’m surrounded by kind, patient people who love me. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend who will fill your home with cuddles, sunshine, happy spins, and unconditional love, I think we might be the perfect match. Love, Pocket

Story
We rescued Penny approximately 8 months ago. The vet puts her around 7 years old. This sweet little girl was found wandering around Lake Worth. She's affectionate, super snuggly, loves to follow you around, go for walks, and roll on her back to play with you. She gets along with the kids, cats and other dogs. She's never bitten and responds fairly well to commands. We've done our best to potty train but she still has the occasional accident. Being able to be outside with her for every potty break is a must. When we rescued her, the vet said she has worn down teeth - likely due to being crated too often or too long in her previous home or homes. I have tried saving for her dental work, yet through a series of unfortunate events, I can't scrape together enough money to help her. Now we're displaced from our home and it's become painfully clear she needs more stability and care than I'm able to offer her right now.

Story
Meet Louie - A gentle boy ready for a loving home! Louie is a 6-year-old Pomsky with a heart as big as his smile. Recently diagnosed with diabetes, he takes his medication like a champ. His eye sight has been damaged from his condition going untreated for so long but he really gets around great! Louie is one of those easygoing, gentle souls who loves everyone—dogs and people, kids included, alike. He enjoys going for walks and spending time with his humans, though he can’t get too overactive because of his condition. Louie has impeccable house manners and is truly an easy boy to love.  He would do best in a home where he can stick to his regular meal and insulin schedule, but beyond that, he just wants to be by your side. Louie has so much love to give and asks for very little in return—just a caring family who will give him a loving, steady home. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion, Louie is your guy! ##2555582##
