Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Playful, goofy and friendly 1 year old male pit mix. Meet Simon, a lovable, friendly and playful goofball who loves humans, gets along with other dogs, is housebroken, and has loads of personality. He will do well in a home that can give him all the love he deserves, and would love to have a sister dog buddy. He likes to play fetch and tug with his toys, and thinks he's a big lap dog and will crawl in your lap with his toy and flip over for belly rubs. He's well mannered in the house and will quietly chew on his treat while his humans relax, but he does get lonely and will bark and chew when left alone.  He is still very much a puppy at heart and still learning his manners, but is housebroken and walks well on leash and has learned to Sit for treats! Simon would do well in a home where he can have a female dog buddy, or a human companion who can spend time playing with him, go on daily walks to explore, and have a secure fenced yard to play in. He is probably not suitable for small children or cats, because of his size and playful nature, but he gets along well with female dogs. Simon is fully vaccinated, sterilized, healthy and ready to find his forever humans! Simon is currently being fostered in La Paz, BCS, but is available for video meet and greets and can be transported anywhere on the US West Coast or Canada. Be sure to watch the video below of Simon to get a feel for his goofy personality! Story
She was adopted at the San Diego Humane Society. She has such a playful personality, she likes to jump up when saying hi, so training can definitely help her to not do that. Needs space to run and play, we have children under 3yrs old and since she is playful and can jump up, we do not feel comfortable with her around them. Really do not want to do this but we have to!

Story
PLEASE SAVE ME FROM BEING PUT IN A SHELTER! My names Mila and i’m an anxious doggie but love attention. My owner is looking for a singular person and has to re-home me due to moving in a house with other dogs. This is her only option of living and needs help to rehome me. She’s showered me with love, long walks, and toys! I love to play tug of war but only if you let me win. I know a few tricks and LOVE treats. I am also potty trained but love to be in a backyard to roam freely and sun bathe. My owner is so sad to have to rehome me but she needs to. I am on best behavior when I'm the ONLY dog in the house because I don't get along with others, I am best alone. It’s very hard for my owner to give me up but she’s given me another year of life and i hope i can be apart of your life for the remaining of my doggie years. I’m 11 years old. I have to find a new home very soon, so please help my owner find me a good home and i promise to love and protect you.

Story
Hi there! Lylla is looking for a new home! We rescued her through the San Diego Humane Society in June so she has been apart of our family for a short time. We highly recommend someone who is experienced with the American Pitbull Terrier breed, and someone who is able to run out her energy. She is house-trained and potty-trained, but when left alone, she tends to redecorate the house while you are out. Lylla has had obedience training and knows basic commands. She is very energetic when meeting new people and other dogs, but she tends to not know other dog’s boundaries. Her behavior towards little ones is unknown, but please be aware she is a jumper but can be corrected with name recall.

Story
Queenie's foster is committed to helping her find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to her foster directly at: FosterFurMommy@gmail.com How this pet arrived: Queenie was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Queenie has been vaccinated, microchipped and is spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Meet sweet Queenie! We aren't positive, but we think she may be a mermaid trapped in an adorable dog's body - this girl is simply obsessed with water! When she's not playing in the sprinkler or drinking from the hose, she enjoys being close to her people, snuggling up on the couch and chewing on squeaky toys. If you want to feel like the most special person in the world, Queenie is your girl. That's because it takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, you'll be welcomed into Queenie's inner circle - and she'll reward your patience with LOTS of kisses and unwavering loyalty! Because she can be nervous in new surroundings with unfamiliar people, Queenie is looking for a calm home where she can settle in, feel safe and thrive. And back to Queenie's inner circle, she appreciates friends who will go at her pace and respect her boundaries, so an adult-only home would be best. Queenie wants to settle into a loving family more than anything, and she's just waiting for compassionate adopters who will give her the time she needs to shine. If you can offer her the patience, consistency, snuggles and fun water activities she needs to thrive, please reach out to her foster at FosterFurMommy@gmail.com!
