Story
Meet Jaden, a.k.a. Moo Moo, a.k.a. Holy Cow 🐮 — an XL Bully mix with a striking white coat, grey spots, and a hilarious love for munching grass (hence the nicknames). 🌾 She was rescued from the kill list by a Good Samaritan and found her way into the care of DMDR. Once overweight, regular walks have helped her slim down—though she’s still every bit an XL girl! At first, Jaden came across as an aloof, independent, grumpy old lady. But with time, her foster family has watched her sweet, affectionate side emerge. She’s incredibly expressive, rarely barks, and has a signature “Velociraptor” chatter that’s both bizarre and wildly entertaining. 🦖 Jaden loves her foster family—greeting them with big smiles, a wagging tail, and full-body joy whenever they return home. She enjoys a game of fetch at her own leisurely pace, gently nudging the ball back to remind you it’s your turn. 🎾 She is wary of strangers and has had a couple of incidents where she nipped without warning. Due to her size and lack of clear signals before striking, she’s currently working closely with a trainer to manage and redirect those instincts. She’s making steady progress, but her future adopter must be committed to continuing this work. With a strong, dog-savvy handler who understands her sass and appreciates her quirks, Jaden has every chance to thrive in her golden years. She’s one of a kind, and she’s ready to find the human who sees that, too. ❤️

Story
Paul (fka Apollo) spent nearly TWO YEARS at the West Valley animal shelter in Los Angeles. And no one can understand why! Paul is a lovable goofball who is in the prime of his life at 7 years old. He is house trained, crate trained, good with calm/neutral dogs, loves to play, LIVES to play ball, and is just an all around great guy. We think Paul would do best in a home where he is the only dog or has a gentle companion around his size. He does seem to prefer female dogs but he has been fine with some male dogs as well. Paul is a really great dog and he shouldn't have to wait any longer for his forever to being. Could you be Paul's person??

Story
Phoenix is such a sweet and gentle soul. He was found in a homeless encampment and presumably lived a life on and off the streets. we can tell he was once a loved family member, we can see it in the way he softens and melts, gently takes treats, sits for a snack, gives kisses to say thank you. He definitely seems to be a sensitive guy, afraid of louder sounds and movements so we think he'd do best in a quiet household where he can go in the back yard sunbathe a bit, come in and find his cozy bed and sleep a bit, eat, and repeat with some intermittent cuddles and kisses in between.Phoenix came to us extremely thin but has gained a healthy amount of weight on home-cooked food and supplements. He recently went to the vet because his fur was falling out and a biopsy came back with Color Dilute Alopecia. He is currently taking melatonin and we have reduced stress and his fur is on the rebound. He is a lovely and quiet gent who is waiting for a place to finally call home. P.S., Phoenix loves the car and will sit in it for hours if you let him!Fill out an adoption application directly on our website at www.lionelslegacy.org

Story
FOREVER FOSTER or ADOPTER WANTED! Meet Lola the cutest pocketpitarottimus! We have no idea what she is breed wise but that doesn't matter she is in fact the goodest most loving girl in the world. Although she lives with multiple dogs in a very experienced foster home we fell like she wants a home and family all to herself. She is all about her people, loving, so very loyal, loves to hunt critters in the yard, loves to go for walks, and wants to gaze deeply into your eyes! Oh and she's useful too, she likes to help with laundry, clean the dishes, and make the bed! She might be a senior but she's active and fun loving! She loves joining our monthly pack walks and she's a western girl with spirit who even likes a good community parade! This girl isn't shy at all!Fill out an adoption application directly on our website at www.lionelslegacy.org

Story
Meet Brownie 🤎✨ This 3-year-old Pit Bull–Vizsla mix is the total package — smart, adventurous, and oh-so-cuddly. Brownie is a slender, athletic girl with medium energy who thrives on walks, hikes, and exploring new places. While she’s not into fetch or stuffies, she LOVES puzzle toys that challenge her brain. 🧩 She’s a quick learner and eager to please! When she’s not out adventuring, Brownie transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. She’ll happily curl up by your side, soak up pets and scratches, and shower you with endless kisses. 💕 Around other dogs, Brownie can coexist peacefully, but she’s still learning how to set healthy boundaries. With guidance, she’ll keep building her skills so she can relax and feel supported instead of having to handle things on her own. She hasn’t lived with cats or kids, so we’re not sure how she’d do in that setting, but out in the world, nothing rattles her. Barking dogs, bikers, skateboarders, even concerts—she takes it all in stride. Brownie is calm, steady, and always ready to be your adventure buddy. 🥾 If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will join you on life’s adventures and snuggle up afterward, Brownie is your girl. 📩 Email peacfulpawsrecovery@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Brownie!
