Story
This studly and handsome boy Chico was rescued from horrible living conditions and was being severely neglected. A guardian angel stepped in and rescued him with the help of the authorities. Chico has been convalescing at his fosters home and is now healthy and happy! Chico loves his people and children but is dog reactive so we think he would do best in a home where he is the only dog. Chico walks nicely on a leash however when he sees a dog approaching he becomes agitated and fearful like he needs to protect and defend himself but has been working with a trainer to overcome his fears and has made such strides! We think Chico will be a lovely addition to someone's family!

Story
Adoptable Mindy is doing amazing in her foster home! She loves to go on adventures around town or snuggle up with her foster parents. She is house trained, good with other dogs, and TBD on the resident cat 😻 The shelter had Mindy listed as 8 years old but we all agree she is probably more like 5-6 years. She’s a great size at 50ish lbs and is currently doing great in an apartment setting! Mindy came from South LA where her heroes @pawpals_southlashelter advocated for her rescue (and even connected us with her amazing foster mama). It’s time for Mindy to have the happily ever after she deserves! Apply to adopt her today 🩵

Story
Maude is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. She is very gentle and very sweet, but can be timid with people. She definitely gains her confidence from other dogs and is very nurturing and sweet with them. Maude seems to be house trained, has done well in a crate, is relaively low maintence, and just needs someone to love her forever. This girl is really special and she deserves the best, most loving home. We don't know anything about Maude's history, but given her timidity with people it seems like she has not been shown much kindness until recently. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

Story
Wilt is best described as a giant puppy - in the best way possible. He is about 3 years old and while he doesn't have puppy energy, he does have an infectious playfulness that cannot help but bring a smile to your face. Wilt is good with other dogs and humans of all ages. He can be a little jealous when he isn't getting all the pets, but he is easily redirected. All he wants is to make his humans happy. Wilt is about 70 lbs and on the taller side. He sort of looks like a mini great Dane. This bully breed boy is sure to bring a lot of love and levity to your life.

Story
Sweet Viola is the definition of resilience. She found herself dumped at an LA shelter in abhorrent condition - she had a severe upper respiratory infection, her skin was in terrible shape, and she appears to have been bred over and over :( But her bad luck didn't end there. Viola was "rescued" by a new organization who was ill-equipped to provide her the medical care she desperately needed. So she sat in deplorable conditions for nearly a week while her condition worsened to pneumonia. By the time Stand Up For Pits Foundation and Mad Mutts became involved, Viola was in critical condition. She spent a collective three weeks in the hospital on supplemental oxygen and the strongest antibiotics available. Now 2 months later, she is ready for her forever home! Viola is house trained, has personality for DAYS, knows "sit" and "shake," and LOVES to be loved. We have not done a dog temperament test on her, because we do prefer she is the only dog in the home. After all she has been through - she deserves to be someone's one and only :) We do not expect Viola to have any long term complications from her illness but her new family will need to make sure they limit her exposure potential to respiratory infections.
