Story
Through no fault of his own this precious bean, Mr. Moo, is looking for a new home. He is a 3 year old pit mix (35lbs) who has lived with a cat and is good with older kids (8+). He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and has completed a formal basic puppy training course. Mr. Moo would do best in a single dog home. To clarify, he is not unfriendly with dogs, he just does not exactly know the best ways to socialize. Mr. Moo is crate trained and house trained. Leash walk or fenced yard required. He is a medium energy boy, who enjoys active play but also likes to cuddle on the couch. He will hang out in whatever room has people in it. During home alone times he should be crated or limited to a room with lots of dog friendly toys for positive entertainment. Mr. Moo is overall a lovable goof ball who lives simply for pets, cuddles, and play. His favorite things are any length of walks, puppy massages, and cuddling while watching animal documentaries.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please read the bio of the rescue you are interested in to insure you are a match if you are a match the first step is to complete the online adoption application  Unique came to us after her family realized they couldn't care for her any longer.  She was born with some birth defects affecting her 2 front legs.  We consulted with multiple veterinarians who all agreed there was really nothing that could be done for her.  She runs, plays, and does all things any other dog would do.  This could affect her down the road with early arthritis.  Unique is a sweet girl who loves to romp in the yard playing with her toys.  She has gotten along with other dogs her at the rescue but we would prefer if there is another dog in the home it be a male.  We would also like to see her have a safe physical fenced in yard where she can play safely.  She is now spayed, up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines,  microchipped and current on preventatives.   She does ok on leash but could use more practice with it. She will need work on her house training in her new home. If interested in possible adoption please go to www.DelawareRescue.com and complete the online adoption application Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Dog Name: Valentina Breed: Mixed breed Sex: Female Age: 5-7yrs Weight: 52lbs Medical Needs: Sensitive skin & allergies - she’s been treated with antibiotics for months to get rid of infection and will require maintenance with Apoquel going forward. It will be important to have her checked out right away if any skin irritation recurs. Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes, is crated for up to 8 hours during the day a few days per week and sleeps overnight in her crate. Good in the car: She’s ok – a little busy at first but will settle after a while. Good on a leash: Leash walks are a work in progress and will require continued practice (which we’ll continue doing as long as she’s here!) – she shows an intense interest toward other dogs on leash and will pull toward them when passing. Energy level: Medium – she’s a playful girl who likes to walk or run, but has a great off switch in the house. Need a fenced in yard: Tricky question… Not if you’re willing and able to work on her leash manners and will adequately exercise her with walks. That said, if you plan to use a fenced yard for exercise, she is not to be left out unsupervised. Val has been thru the shelter system twice already, both times after being picked up as a stray… statistically speaking, as a black pit bull looking dog, it’s a miracle she even has this chance at a forever home so please understand the importance of keeping her safely confined. Dog Friendly: Yes! She is very playful and loves a good walk or play date with friends. That said, she is not a good candidate to LIVE with other dogs. She has a tendency to guard things (from other dogs only, not people) which makes managing her in a multi dog home difficult. Cat Friendly? No, and no small prey animals. Kid Friendly: Val does not live with kids in her foster home, but is generally pretty gentle we think she’d be ok! If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? I’d defer to parents on this one. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Valentina is like a cat with 9 lives – she’s escaped the shelter system twice now and we honestly can’t figure out why she ended up there in the first place. She’s super sweet, friendly, snuggly, playful and has the most soulful eyes that make you want to melt. She does these cute spazzy play bows when she’s excited about something and is so light on her feet that we joke she’s like a baby gazelle hopping around the house. She’s a little Velcro-like, but not the annoying kind. The kind where she chooses to quietly curl up under the desk as I’m working from home - even though she has free reign of the rest of the house - just to keep me company… or where she promptly hops up to follow if I peel away from our couch snuggle, even if just to grab a quick drink. Val’s ideal home is one willing to give her ample time to settle in… after all, she has been bounced around quite a bit in her life. We’re hoping to find someone(s) looking for true companionship, who will give her the time and attention she deserves. She isn’t a dog that wants to entertain herself, you can tell she genuinely enjoys the human connection. Canine friends can be fun too, so long as they are friends outside of the home as she does not share well (after the life she’s lived, can you blame her?). She takes direction well, and it’s important that you give that to her to bring out her very best. *When Val arrived, she was grossly underweight and in overall poor physical condition. She has displayed some guarding behavior in her foster home, and it has escalated to a bite on another dog. Val has displayed absolutely no aggression toward humans in any way. Fosters Location: Elkton, MD ##1948786##

Story
Meet Coco! We all love some sweet Coco! Coco recently came to us when her previous owners could no longer care for her and she's been settling in here at Rehoboth. Since she was living in a home previously, it was reported that she's crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained but we can't make any guarantees how she'll transition into a new environment. Coco does know sit and paw and she's a big girl who loves her treats - maybe a little too much and could do with losing some weight. Thankfully, Coco adores love just as much as she adores treats so some cuddles and ear scratches are also acceptable forms of rewards for good behavior for her! When she's not out enjoying a walk or playing with a toy, Coco is happy to nap it up! Especially if those naps include cuddles with her favorite people! Coco's met a variety of humans and has done well so would make a great addition to a family with kids of any age. We'll continue to update Coco's profile as we get to know her but if you're looking for a couch potato that will shower you with endless love, Coco is the girl for you! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
