Story
Through no fault of his own this precious bean, Mr. Moo, is looking for a new home. He is a 3 year old pit mix (35lbs) who has lived with a cat and is good with older kids (8+). He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and has completed a formal basic puppy training course. Mr. Moo would do best in a single dog home. To clarify, he is not unfriendly with dogs, he just does not exactly know the best ways to socialize. Mr. Moo is crate trained and house trained. Leash walk or fenced yard required. He is a medium energy boy, who enjoys active play but also likes to cuddle on the couch. He will hang out in whatever room has people in it. During home alone times he should be crated or limited to a room with lots of dog friendly toys for positive entertainment. Mr. Moo is overall a lovable goof ball who lives simply for pets, cuddles, and play. His favorite things are any length of walks, puppy massages, and cuddling while watching animal documentaries.

Story
We adopted Pinto (formerly Stanley) from the Brandywine Valley SPCA in 2022. He was born on 08/02/2022. He is a mixed breed, mostly white dog who is deaf. He loves to play, chew on sticks, and be outdoors. He gets along well with our other dog. He does not seem bothered by cats but ours do not do well with him. He does well walking on a leash and enjoys going for long walks at parks. He does have a microchip and has been neutered. He is up to date on shots. He eats dry food and enjoys chewing on bones. He has not had any training by us. Pinto is a very sweet dog who needs a space to run and play. He loves attention. We will provide new owner with any paperwork we have on him as well as any supplies/food we have, including a crate.

Why is Esmeralda still here? We ask ourselves that every day. Unfortunately, like so many middle-aged, black, pitbull-type dogs, Esmeralda has been overlooked in an overwhelmed shelter system. With thousands of animals entering shelters every day, dogs like her often fall through the cracks. But we refuse to let her be forgotten. Sweet, snuggly, and full of charm, Esmeralda is a gentle soul who’s ready to bring love and laughter into a lucky home. Small in size and big in personality, she’s won the hearts of our staff and volunteers. She recently went on a Saturday adventure to Tuckahoe State Park, where she splashed in the water, rolled in the leaves, and soaked up every second of freedom. She was perfect in the car, loved the trails, and even helped herself to her human’s water cup. Esmeralda’s Best Qualities ✔️ Has done well with kids she's met ✔️ Has interacted positively with dog-savvy cats ✔️ Has shown success with other dogs after slow, proper introductions ✔️ Appears to be crate-trained, housebroken, and familiar with a doggy door ✔️ Knows basic commands like "sit" and "paw" ✔️ Enjoys car rides, walks, cuddle time, and relaxing by your side She’s smart, loyal, and affectionate…everything you’d want in a best friend. Esmeralda has also spent time in a home during our Shelter Slumber Party and was a total rockstar. Her slumber party buddy was so smitten, they even sponsored her adoption fee to help her find a loving home. Esmeralda came to us microchipped from another shelter, but no former adopters could be located. So now, she’s starting fresh and waiting patiently for someone to give her a second chance. Let’s not let her wait another day. If you can’t adopt, consider fostering or help her story reach the right person by sharing. Esmeralda’s adoption fee is fully sponsored Caroline County Humane Society – Ridgely, MD 📞 (410) 820-1600 📧 adoptions@carolinehumane.org 🌐 www.carolinehumane.org

Shelter life was overwhelming for her with too much stress and not enough space. Since moving into a foster home, she’s completely transformed. Her foster describes her as “probably the sweetest dog I’ve ever met” and that’s coming from someone not easily impressed. She’s currently living in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and even a horse. Poppy is housebroken, crate-trained, and loves people. She’s affectionate and gentle, but also full of energy, and would thrive in an active home where she has space to run and play. Poppy’s Best Qualities ✔️ Living peacefully with other dogs and cats ✔️ Crate-trained and housebroken ✔️ Affectionate, energetic, and eager to please Fostering gave Poppy the chance to decompress and truly shine. Now she’s ready to find a loving new home where she can continue to thrive. Schedule an Appointment to Meet Poppy at the Caroline County Humane Society 407 W.
