Roger is a 2.5 year old American Pitbull Terrier, we think purebred, but we're not sure. We rescued him from a shelter in January 2024. He's very high energy, but loves people and loves pets and scratches. He also loves to chew on bones and likes squeaky toys. We've come to realize his prey drive is too strong to be around smaller dogs or cats, which we have. He would be great with larger dogs. He could probably also use some training. He knows "sit" (most of the time), down and kennel (for when he's supposed to get in his crate), but he definitely needs some leash training and also training not to bolt out the door if you open it! He needs someone who will give him plenty of love and attention, play time and stimulation and hopefully some other larger dogs to play with. We really want to find him a home where he can have the love he deserves!

Got ghost when he was a puppy he turned 3 in July we recently had a baby and we both work he isnt bad with kids but he knocks the baby down and gets high anxiety when we are gone and will tear the house up he needs to be somewhere with someone who can give him more attention hes a sweet dog and loves attention we just do not have the time working full time and having a baby I'm also possibly moving in the next couple months and can't take him with me

Story
Missy came to us from a local animal shelter partner who could not care for her medical needs. “I’m not sure she has a chance here…” they told us before bringing her to BCAR. Since bringing Missy to BCAR, she has been diagnosed with and is being treated for Cushing Disease and a thyroid disorder. Both are managed with daily medications. She has also gone from weighing just over 100 pounds to a healthy weight of around 50 pounds while in our care! She loves a good walk and has great manners on her leash. She is very calm and enjoys snoozing in the sunshine after her morning walk. Missy will be classified as a medical adoption meaning BCAR will continue to be financially responsible for her medical care. At 5 years old, our hope is to find Missy a loving and compassionate person to care for her and get her out of the shelter. She would love a fenced yard and if it had access with a doggie door, all the better. BCAR can provide extra help with transitioning this sweet girl from life in the shelter to life in a home. She will do best as an only pet. Missy is very sweet with people but needs to be the only pet in the family and does not care for dog parks. All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets.
