Story
HI - I'M VAIL! I'm a sweet & loving snow white 4-1/2-year old Pit Bull Terrier girl in need of a foster or forever home. I love people and am quite the snuggler. I also love my crate, and sleep in it at night (though would probably gladly share your bed.) I'm not destructive in the house and am overall a joy to have around. I'm also quite playful. At about 56 lbs., I'm a strong girl, and could use some minor leash training. I'm not great with other dogs so would do best as the only dog in a home. I'd love a warm bed, a person or people to love me and a chance to go for a walk or on road trips. Can you foster adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
MEET GABE! Gabe is a 6-year-old sweet and stocky Pit Bull Terrier in need of a foster or forever home. He was originally rescued from a crowded California shelter. He has waited awhile and keeps getting overlooked. His nose is shaped like a heart and he's ready to love you! Gabe loves humans and loves to go on road trips, walks, and other outings. He makes a great passenger. He also loves to play fetch and can self-entertain. Gabe is good with some dogs but not others - same with cats! So Gabe would probably thrive as the only pet in the home. He weighs about 60 lbs. We're hoping Gabe can find a home in the new year because he deserves it. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M CLYDE, and if you're looking for a big, loyal friend, that's me. I am a studly 4-year-old brindle Pit Bull Terrier with a huge head in need of a home. Despite my imposing look, I am a sweetheart in disguise once I'm in your inner circle. I especially love men - and I bond quickly and intensely to my person. I'd make a great, loyal companion. I'd do great with a single guy experienced with pits who wants to bond. Despite my look, I am very timid around other dogs. So what's my story? Well, I was dumped by my people -- and taken in by a rescue group so I wouldn't end up in the shelter system. I really would love a home where I'm loved and cherished and given all the affection I deserve. I will reward you 100-fold! I need an experienced owner only because I'm shy in the beginning, and I bond so strongly with my person. I also need a foster home if you aren't ready to adopt. Can you foster or adopt me? I weigh about 70 lbs.

Story
HI - I'M TOMMY, a handsome 7-1/2-year-old gray Pit Bull Terrier who has waited much too long for someone to adopt me! I'm currently looking for a foster or forever home. I was originally rescued from a shelter awhile back and was skin and bones - now I'm filled out and weigh about 75 pounds! I tested OK with some dogs, but I would honestly be best as the only dog in the home, where I can bond with my person or people. I'm a very loyal and strong dog, who will be a very faithful companion. I love to play fetch, go for walks or just hang out and snuggle. I'm not good with cats, though. Can you give me a forever home? I'm currently in California, but can be transported to you in Oregon or Washington. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M SIMBA! Sweetness doesn't even begin to describe me! I'm a 3-1/2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier saved from a crowded California shelter in the nick of time. I had been impounded there as a stray, and had kennel mates while there. Now I'm in a foster home in the Greater Seattle area with two other dogs, and I love being in a home! I'm a happy, playful girl, with always a smile to give. I'm great with male dogs and some female dogs, and good with kids, too! I love to snuggle! I weigh 55-60 lbs. I'm currently in Washington, but can be transported to you in Idaho. Please email for an application.

Story
Adorable Callie's story broke our hearts. In her previous life she was an ESA for her owner that sadly passed away, and was left to the other adult in the home, who was in a motorcycle accident and passed shortly after. She ended up in a high kill shelter and we swooped her off of the euthanasia list just in time. Now she is on the hunt for her new forever family in the PNW! Callie is great with other dogs, but may do better as an only dog as she can be a bit bossy in her own home with other dogs. She loves pack walks and being involved with other pups. She has been around cats and didn't seem to mind them. She does great with all people big and small! Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her adoption fee. Story
***NEEDS FOSTER or FOREVER HOME*** Currently boarding in Boise Meet ROXY! She is a 5-year-old, 46-lb affectionate, people-loving cuddlebug who will melt into your arms the moment you sit down. She is housetrained and good with kids. ROXY's story hasn’t been an easy one. This beautiful pup spent too long fending for herself, trying to get by without the love and care every dog deserves. While she was technically "owned", the owners didn't care for her, letting her get pregnant, and roam the streets. But even after all she’s been through, ROXY is still the sweetest girl. In our rescue, ROXY finally knows what kindness feels like and is soaking it all in — and giving it right back. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, resting her head on your lap, or greeting you with a happy tail wag, ROXY's favorite thing in the world is simply being loved. She is old enough to appreciate a good nap, but still young enough for playtime and leisurely walks. After everything she’s endured, ROXY is ready for her next chapter — one filled with belly rubs, soft blankets, and a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her $150 adoption fee. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart, ROXY is your girl. Please share this post to help ROXY find her forever family. She is ready for her new life to begin ❤️. Apply to meet and learn more about ROXY at www.freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Meet Butterball! This nakey boy is looking for a family with a little extra love in their hearts. Butterball waited in the shelter full of mange and completely naked before he moved to foster care. Now he spends his day wagging his tail, loving on other dogs, wrestling in the yard, and being happy all day. He loves to snuggle on the bed and enjoys his shirts. He is a super sweet boy that is grateful for his second chance. He has the BEST personality, squishy face, and is a great cuddler. Butterball is going through heartworm treatment (covered by the rescue in Meridian). He also has an unrelated heart disease that is being managed. He is a big lover, stage 5 clinger, and is just looking for someone that wants to give his sweet soul a family for the rest of his life. He is the best boy. Neuter, microchip, and current vaccines all included in his adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Roxy’s story hasn’t been an easy one. This beautiful, middle-aged Pitbull mix spent too long fending for herself, trying to get by without the love and care every dog deserves. Story
Young, sweet pitbull baby name Bruno. My mom recently suffered a fall less than 6 months after her and my dad adopted this sweet boy and they are no longer able to give him the care or training he needs. He is fairly young (less than 2 years old) and starting to learn many commands but needs someone who is able to offer him consistent training and energetic release. He loves hiking, camping, dog parks, couch cuddling, running. He is absolutely fabulous in the car even for long road trips. We've had many dogs over the years and know that he will be the perfect companion with a little bit more structure and strong owners. He needs a tall fenced yard as he is able to jump the short one. Ideally a dog door. Luckily he is not a runner and comes on command. He's great with other dogs (loves playing with our pitty mix.) but I would watch him around cats. Not recommended for a home with elderly family members or super small children until he's had training to learn not to jump.

Story
Tiny and Marlie are very gentle and good-natured dogs that we would love to see adopted together if possible. Both are cuddlers although Marlie prefers to lay on top of you rather than to the side. They are both such sweethearts and love people. They're good with kids. With new people and situations, however, Marlie is a little timid at first. These youngsters are super playful and love toys, treats, and bones. Tiny lives to play tug-of-war or keep-away and his favorite toys are ropes. Marlie is content with a chew and a shade tree. They are both treat-motivated. Once, their temporary foster mom took them to a park where there were other dogs and while Marlie was a bit standoffish, she didn't act like she minded the other animals. In the temporary foster home they did not get along with the senior Pitty but were okay with the other dogs. It is hard to say if they will do best with just the two of them or be fine with another friendly, confident dog of middle age. Marlie walks with a hunch in her back like maybe she sustained an injury at some point that wasn’t treated. The landlord at the apartment where they came from said there was a time when she didn't get around much and seemed like she hurt her "rear leg or something". Tiny stayed at her side the entire time. These two are a bonded pair, not siblings, but they love each other dearly. From what we were told, their prior owner tried to separate them at one point and they both did poorly. They are very attached to each other. That being said, the situation was already less than ideal, and they probably needed each other to cope. They can go to separate fosters if needed, but after the trauma and abandonment they have endured, we would love to keep them together. They absolutely love car rides and behave wonderfully. They have great leash manners. They get along with the cats in their home. Both are estimated to be about one year old at the beginning of July, 2024. They are in our satellite foster group in the Salt Lake City area. If you’re interested in one or both of these big bundles of love, please visit our Linktree page and complete an application. https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue

Lily is 6 months old. She is a boxer mix. She was adopted from West Valley when she was 2 months old. She is close to being fully house trained. I am relocating and unable to take her with me. I think she would be a great fit for a 1 dog home. She comes with a kennel and some food. Really want her to go to a loving and forever home.

MEET BILLY THE BOXER MIX! If you're looking for a quirky, energetic dog, a ball of energy ready to rumble and roll, Billy is it! He is a fun-loving 1-year-old Boxer-Staffie mix who is ready to rock your world. He's just a puppy and could use some leash training, but he's got a lot of good things going for him. First of all, he's unique and funny - he's got big floppy ears, and one is usually up and the other down. Secondly, he's good with other dogs. He was basically raised in an animal shelter so got used to having other pups around. He absolutely needs an active person or people and a yard would be a plus so he could run around, and then take a snooze. He is stocky and built like a tank, and weighs about 65 lbs.
