Millie aka Potato aka Loaf aka Butterball is the most wonderful girl. She walks perfect on and off leash, does not mess in her kennel and does not show any interest in cats. She doesn’t beg food from kids and she gets along well with calm dogs. Millie was reported to have been thrown from a car and left on the side of the road and we just can’t figure out why. Millie desperately needs a diet and some walks. Come down to Macoupin County Animal control and give her a few squeezes and possibly take her home. Our hours are Weekdays 10-2, closed Tuesday, and Saturday 8-12

Hi, I’m Kronk. I’m very loving and I love to cuddle. I can be very hyper. I need someone who is good at training me, and someone with patience. I need someone with a lot of energy, and it would be a bonus to have another hyper dog to play with if they were to get along. I need a yard to run in. I can be difficult on walks, and require constant attention to surroundings. If I get within 40-50 feet of another dog I’ll get hyper. I’m good at staying on my place when my owner eats dinner. It can be a challenge introducing new males in the house, but I’m better if the new person gives me treats. I like to bark a lot!! I don’t do well with being crated. I am fine in the house, up to 8 hours. I can be a really great dog given the right care. My owner just had some big life changes and is too busy to give me the love and attention I need.

Our adoption fee is $275.00 which includes Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, current heart worm test, DHPP booster, Bordetella vaccine, Microchip, Worming.Jax is barely a year old and very friendly with people but not so much with other dogs. He is a submissive male so no dominance in him at all. He loves kids, loves to snuggle and play tug of war. He likes to joke around and stick his tongue out at you sometimes as you can see in his picture here..lolPlease help us make room to save more homeless pets!!! Adopting from Hope Rescues saves the life of two.. the one you adopt and the one your adoption makes room for. We are a Rescue which means we physically go and save lives. They meet you first, and they love you! but they decide they like the color of the other dog better. Then someone else comes with a list of two dogs and they met you first and they said SHE IS THE SWEETEST DOG! but they picked the other one because of you are heartworm positive. So my shelter folks figured out a way to sponsor OVER HALF of my heartworm treatment so that the NEXT person will for sure pick me. And the next couple did come in and they both loved me and I loved their kids! But they decided to wait until the move is finished. It's crazy because everyone that meets me REALLY LIKES ME but there is always something that keeps them from taking me. I know I look like I've had puppies before - I can't help that - people bred me too much in my little life before I got to the shelter. I know I don't bark at my kennel door to get your attention - but that's a good thing! It means I am a more calm, sweet lady. I do like to have time outside to smell the roses but as soon as see you calling to me I will run over, do a little tippy tap dance, and jump up in the air so you can catch me like the baby I think I am. (It really is the cutest thing I do but I realize not every one can catch me) I walk well on a leash, I really try to wait to do my business outside, I love kids, I sit for a treat so pretty you won't believe it, and I have been patiently waiting for someone to see me even though I don't bark as loud as my roommates. Could you be the one I've been waiting so long for?
