Story
Plinky is an ultra sweet senior girl that is significantly hearing impaired, if not completely deaf. Plinky does great with humans and interacts well with dogs as long as no toys or food is around so for this reason, Plinky must be the only dog. She is reported to be potty, trained and rides well in the car. Plinky is very sweet, she loves to relax, and she walks well on a leash. She isn't super interested in play, and would be great for a family who is looking for a calm companion.

Story
2-year-old Athos is currently in a foster home, and so far he is loving it!His foster family says he has been a model dog in their home:"He is truly the best. He loves carpet.. likes to roll all around on it. Never begged for people food.. was amazing in the car.. we were worried because he never made a peep.. we kept checking on him.. never have we seen a dog be so good in the car. He loves playing ball with the boys. He has been on like 6 walks and is the best! We have had no issues at all. He heels and sits at the end of the streets before we cross a road he is doing great. My youngest took him on a walk and was nervous because there was a squirrel in front of us.. he told Athos to heel and they just walked right past the squirrel.. it was amazing!!! He never gets on furniture until we tell him up. We have had to take bones away from him and he is perfectly fine with it. He loves to sit at the door window and just watch the people going bye.. even when all the dogs on the street started a barking concert last night.. he still did not bark.. just sat here and watched back and forth with just one ear up ?? he is truly amazing!! And we are loving fostering him! Could not have asked for a better dog."He has undergone training and is looking for a family that will commit to not only him but to continuing the training he has been given as well. Story
Moodonna is an energetic happy dog, who has learned to trust that people are her friends in the time she has been with us. She knows how to sit, will stay, and is good on a leash after her initial excitement of being out and ready to go is abated. She has been exploring new areas around town to help build confidence in herself and the world. When meeting new people it is best to let her approach because her world has been small. She is easily bought with praise and a treat. She is good with vetting and toenail trims, likes to play tug, and knows when to drop, never getting your fingers by mistake. Moo is happy to lay or sit quietly beside you for a little downtime. She enjoys walking around the shelter and visiting her friends while they work. She enjoys belly rubs too. Moo is NOT a fan of cats, so her future home has to be feline-free. Moo has been with us a while so she will need a home that will be patient in letting her adjust to new surroundings, sounds, and expectations. A home that will let her adjust before exposing her to a lot of new people and new experiences until she settles.Moo weighs 48.2 poundsAdoption Fee: $100Estimated Date of Birth: 12/1/18Intake Reason: Transferred in from animal control with mom and littermatesAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
By appearance, Loretta has had one main purpose in life until this point and it is being a money maker for a greedy owner who let her continually have babies. No more! Her recent litter was just weaned, Loretta has been spayed and is looking for a forever family of her own. Loretta is a love with humans. Everyone is her best friend. We aren't certain if she has lived as a house dog before so she may take some time learning to live as a house pet but we predict her favorite activity will be Netflix and chill, though she may take some time to decompress, relax and learn the comforts of living in a home. We've done two dog intros with Loretta and right now, she's very nervous and unsure and stiff in posture which makes our team uncomfortable pushing her for more interactions. At this time, we think it would be best for Loretta to go home as an only dog to allow her time to relax and decompress and see once she's used to just being a dog, not a puppy maker, if that changes. After all, if every time you encountered another dog you ended up with a litter of puppies, you'd be nervous too.Cat test done in controlled environment, she had no reaction to themLoretta weighs 67.2 PoundsAdoption Fee: $100Date of Birth: 11/7/2019Intake Reason: Transfer InAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Bailey carries the emotional and physical scars of a hard past. She is learning to trust our staff and volunteers; however, there are still a few men that she still will not allow to freely be in her space. She also has not learned to trust hands in her neck region to clip/unclip leashes so will need patience and work in this area. She has been on a few outings and rides well in a car. She seemed non-reactive to cats in a controlled environment but definite slow intros will be necessary. We have not done direct dog to dog intros but she seems non-reactive to other dogs in the kennel environment. The biggest obstacle to adoption for Bailey is building trust with a human so you can safely handle her if she would get in a tussle with the dog or cat. While she currently has no bite record, and does a great job of giving signals for when she is being pushed beyond her comfort level, we do believe that she will bite if someone doesn't read her cues so it is very important that an adopter understands that they have to go at her pace. Leash Manners: excellent, heals and sit heals Basic Commands: sit, down, heal, drop, stay, recall. Rides great in the car and waits if you go in some place. Cat introduction in a controlled environment: no reaction she is friendly toward them in control environment them Good with dogs? Eligible for dog intros Special Notes : does not like leash clipped on and can be touchy about using a slip lead in and out of her kennel (reactive with slip lead only in her indoor kennel) Adoption Fee: $100Estimated Date of Birth: UnknownIntake Reason: Transfer from another shelter, at risk of euthanasia at time of transferAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. If their kennel card on display at TAPS shelter facility is marked as unaltered, the animal will be altered prior to being released for adoption. Story
My name is Binx. I am a 15 week old energetic puppy who loves to play and have fun. I have 2 great dane foster siblings and I play with them all the time. I have also interacted with other dogs and puppies and have behaved really well. I am a huge fan of squeaky toys, the more the better. My foster mom and dad call me a “goat” because I love to jump around like a baby goat. Par-core! I am really good at going outside to potty. I love being outside. Right now I have a fenced in back yard and I love to run around with my foster siblings. Don’t just judge me by my good looks, I am also really smart. I am very treat motivated and willing to learn all kinds of tricks with someone who is willing to invest the time. I do well with children also. I appear to be a boxer/husky mix and should be 50-60 pounds once grown (I am 29 pounds now). I'm looking for a forever home where i get alot of attention, love, and exercise. Binx's $300 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, and microchip registration. You can apply at  https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##1979870##
