Story
Remy!     DOB: 9/2020    Weight: 40lbs  Over a year later and Remi is still on the market! She’s a small and very muscular looking pittie mix. She is completely house trained and does decent in the crate so long as she’s not in there too crazy long. She does fantastic with cats and has lived in a home fine with a small dog. Needs to meet any potential larger dogs in the home. Kids 14+ or ones that can respect her space are needed in the home. She previously lived with kids and was surrendered after the one (10yr) wouldn’t stay out of her face while she was sleeping and she nipped at him. She tried to tell him she didn’t like it but he didn’t listen to the cues. In a good home setting, Remi is a very friendly girl and loves to be with her people. No food or toy aggression issues. She likes to sleep in bed with her humans and is crazy about her chew toys. Toys are her life but, but she needs indestructible ones as she can chew through just about any toy. Remi likes having a doggie companion to play with, but should meet any potential ones.  She knows how to sit and takes nicely, very food motivated. Always down for an adventure outside but she’ll let you know when she’s tired. Enjoys car rides and does fairly well for baths. Her flaws include some anxiety that leads her to get worked up at certain things. She will try to bolt out of any door that is open and needs to learn to wait. When out on walks she does wonderful until she sees other dogs then she barks and carries on, throws herself around. Needs to be corrected before it starts, something to work at.  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to shelter 3/2022. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. Story
Nova!       DOB: 3/2019     Weight: 53lbs   Nova is a VERY sweet pit mix. A major cuddler and a professional butt wiggler. Loves scratches and belly rubs. Enjoys sunbathing when it’s nice out. Rolling in the grass is a must for her everytime she goes out lol. She does well for baths and car rides. Good with most other dogs, will even play in the yard with them. She does have a prey drive for smaller animals, so no cats or itty bitty dogs. Great with people and kids! She knows how to sit and will take treats nicely. Not much food or toy aggression. Nova is a quiet dog with us, but she’ll attract attention with her weird little gremlin howls when out in public. She practically throws herself onto people for attention, so if you’re sitting on the ground be aware. She had it rough before coming to us. A puppy maker for someone until they didn’t need her, then passed to multiple different homes. She has been in foster with us for awhile now where we know that she’s house and crate trained. She does need apoquel meds for her allergies. Roughly $100 a month at the vet she’s currently with. Shae is the most lovable little pit ever! She's solid white, and sometimes along with that comes a special need...Shae is deaf. She doesn't let that stop her! She's crazy smart and can absolutely be trained using treats and hand signals!  She is special and deserves a special home! Shae can be picky about other dogs. Sometimes she loves friends and sometimes not. A meet and greet with the family and other pets in the home would be requried.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Rocky!     DOB: 5/17/2016     Weight: 66lbs   Rocky! This hunky guy is looking for another shot at a forever home too! He’s currently stuck in our overcrowded kennels. He’s a stalky, brindle and white pit bull terrier mix. He is completely house trained but will mark when he first arrives at a new place. Lots of dogs tend to do that. He’s been fine in his crate/kennel. He does excellent with other dogs! Previously lived with a 3 year old kid and did fine with him. Rocky does well for baths and car rides. Knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. No food or toy aggression. Rocky was adopted for several months but was returned due to him protecting what he believed to be his. He’s NOT a fan of strangers walking in or around the house or his people. He’s perfectly fine with HIS people, it’s new guests he doesn’t like. His adopter had muzzled him when friends came over and he did decent. Most of the time they put him up in a room. Rocky needs a proper introduction with new people outside of the house before allowing that person inside. His home was also surrounded by a solid wooden fence. A lady walked into the yard and Rocky had went after her. Rocky‘s ideal home would be one with a doggie playmate and someone who is very dog savy with larger breeds. With the right work he’d make a great guard dog and protector of the home. He was very loving towards the people that adopted him and he’s had no problems meeting people here at the shelter. It’s just once he gets into a home, he will become protective of the area and his people. His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Hello there, I'm Azora, a spirited 3-year-old Pit Mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life! I'm ready to bring a whole lot of joy and companionship into your life. I've got energy to spare and a playful spirit that's infectious! Whether it's a game of fetch, a run in the park, or some exciting outdoor activities, count me in. I'm ready to be your active partner, joining you on adventures and keeping the good times rolling. My walker described me as a very friendly and sweet girl, and I wear that title proudly! I'm a people-lover through and through, and I can't wait to be your loyal and affectionate companion. My charming smile and expressive ears are just a glimpse of the warmth I'll bring into your life. I'll be honest - I can get a bit reactive around other dogs, so it's important to introduce me to new furry friends with care. My walker noted that I might do better with some space from other dogs. A bit of patience and gradual socialization might be the key to helping me feel more comfortable around my four-legged counterparts. I am heartworm positive but the treatment for that if provided by the shelter once I'm adopted. You just have to make sure you have time to bring me in for two sperate treatments. The adoption staff can go over that with you in more detail. I'm looking for a loving and patient home where my energy and affection will be cherished. While I might need some extra guidance when it comes to interacting with other dogs, I promise to shower you with love and companionship. If you're willing to work with me, I'll be a loyal and devoted friend for life.

Story
Hi there! My name may be Princess, but I'm no snooty royal. I just know I deserve to be spoiled! I'm a 1-year-old female pitty who came from animal control, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home.I'm very sweet, playful, and fun! I have a bit of a mischievous side too-I can be a counter surfer because that's where the treats are. Maybe that has something to do with my figure! I'm always up for a game or an adventure, and I know commands like "sit" and "leave it," which makes me a pretty good listener. When I'm out on walks, I have high energy and get super excited because I love exploring and being outside. I'm easy to walk, but sometimes I can't resist chasing after squirrels. I promise I'm not fearful, just curious and playful. I did bark at other dogs because I was so excited to see them and wanted to play, but I could use a little help learning how to interact with them properly. I'm looking for a family that can match my energy and give me lots of love and attention. If you think you can spoil me like the princess I am, come meet me! Let's see if we can make each other happy and start our new adventure together.

Story
Hey there, I'm Chavonne, and I'm excited to share a bit about myself with you. My friends at the shelter describe me as having low to medium energy, which means I'm just the right blend of laid-back and playful. I may be a bit nervous around new people at first, but once I warm up to you, I'm as sweet as can be. I've mastered commands like sit, and I'll take treats from your hand ever so gently. When it comes to other dogs, I tend to do pretty well. I've been known to get along with my furry friends, especially the male ones. However, I might be a bit selective around female dogs, so it's something to keep in mind. When I'm out for a walk, I have great manners with my leash. I'll walk alongside you with ease and sit patiently for treats along the way. Overall, I'm just a smart and friendly girl looking for a loving home where I can thrive. If you're ready to welcome a sweet and loyal companion into your life, then look no further!

Story
Hello there, I'm Spruce, a gentle giant with a heart of gold, ready to find a home where I can blossom into the confident and loving companion I know I can be. At 3 years old, I may still have some mysteries about my past, but one thing's for certain - I'm a big ol' shy guy with a whole lot of love to give. The people here have discovered I love playing with girl dogs! Despite my size, I'm a bit of a wallflower, preferring to observe the world from the safety of my own little corner. But don't let my shyness fool you - underneath it all, I'm a sweet and gentle soul just waiting for the right family to help me come out of my shell. And you know what they say about the way to a dog's heart - treats! Yes, treats are the key to unlocking my true potential and helping me open up to new experiences and adventures. I am heartworm positive, but fear not - treatment for that is handled by the shelter once I find my forever home. With a little time, patience, and lots of love, I know I'll be back to my happy, healthy self in no time. So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a sweet and shy guy like me into your heart and home? I promise to shower you with love, loyalty, and plenty of tail wags in return. Let's embark on this journey together and make some beautiful memories along the way.

Story
Greetings, everyone! My name is Prince, and I'm here to charm my way into your heart and home. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First things first, I'm a lover of all creatures - from kids to cats, I get along famously with just about everyone. Sure, I can be a bit selective when it comes to other dogs, but as long as they're on the calmer side, we'll get along just fine. My walker has described me as having medium energy, which means I'm up for some fun and adventure, but I also know how to appreciate a good nap. When it comes to walks, I'm a dream to stroll with - easy on the leash and always on my best behavior. Oh, and did I mention I love baths and car rides? There's nothing quite like the feeling of the wind in my fur as we cruise down the road together. Now, I must confess, I can be a little naughty if left unsupervised - trash cans are just too tempting to resist! But with a little guidance and lots of love, I'm sure I can learn to curb my mischievous tendencies. After all, I'm a sweet and loving family dog at heart, always ready to shower my humans with affection and loyalty. So, if you're in the market for a furry companion who's as sweet as can be, then look no further - I'm Prince, and I can't wait to become a cherished member of your family. Let's make some memories together - I promise you won't regret it!

Story
Momo!      DOB: 2/2018       Weight: 70 lbs   MoMo is a very handsome Boxer mix! He is great with people and kids. Always super excited to see you and turns into a crazy wiggle butt. However, Momo prefers to be the only child. Doesn’t care much for cats or other dogs. Walks around them fine, but will pick a fight if they get too close. He loves to ride in the car and has a medium energy level. Likes to get out for walks and sniff around. Knows how to sit and will take handouts nicely. No resource guarding issues. He’s very sweet. Could use a good food schedule and some more exercise. Momo has lived in a house for the past two years and is used to the house life. He is house and crate trained of course.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org .
