Story
Remy!     DOB: 9/2020    Weight: 40lbs  Over a year later and Remi is still on the market! She’s a small and very muscular looking pittie mix. She is completely house trained and does decent in the crate so long as she’s not in there too crazy long. She does fantastic with cats and has lived in a home fine with a small dog. Needs to meet any potential larger dogs in the home. Kids 14+ or ones that can respect her space are needed in the home. She previously lived with kids and was surrendered after the one (10yr) wouldn’t stay out of her face while she was sleeping and she nipped at him. She tried to tell him she didn’t like it but he didn’t listen to the cues. In a good home setting, Remi is a very friendly girl and loves to be with her people. No food or toy aggression issues. She likes to sleep in bed with her humans and is crazy about her chew toys. Toys are her life but, but she needs indestructible ones as she can chew through just about any toy. Remi likes having a doggie companion to play with, but should meet any potential ones.  She knows how to sit and takes nicely, very food motivated. Always down for an adventure outside but she’ll let you know when she’s tired. Enjoys car rides and does fairly well for baths. Her flaws include some anxiety that leads her to get worked up at certain things. She will try to bolt out of any door that is open and needs to learn to wait. When out on walks she does wonderful until she sees other dogs then she barks and carries on, throws herself around. Needs to be corrected before it starts, something to work at.  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to shelter 3/2022. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. Story
Nova!       DOB: 3/2019     Weight: 53lbs   Nova is a VERY sweet pit mix. A major cuddler and a professional butt wiggler. Loves scratches and belly rubs. Enjoys sunbathing when it’s nice out. Rolling in the grass is a must for her everytime she goes out lol. She does well for baths and car rides. Good with most other dogs, will even play in the yard with them. She does have a prey drive for smaller animals, so no cats or itty bitty dogs. Great with people and kids! She knows how to sit and will take treats nicely. Not much food or toy aggression. Nova is a quiet dog with us, but she’ll attract attention with her weird little gremlin howls when out in public. She practically throws herself onto people for attention, so if you’re sitting on the ground be aware. She had it rough before coming to us. A puppy maker for someone until they didn’t need her, then passed to multiple different homes. She has been in foster with us for awhile now where we know that she’s house and crate trained. She does need apoquel meds for her allergies. Roughly $100 a month at the vet she’s currently with. Shae is the most lovable little pit ever! She's solid white, and sometimes along with that comes a special need...Shae is deaf. She doesn't let that stop her! Story
Rocky!     DOB: 5/17/2016     Weight: 66lbs   Rocky! This hunky guy is looking for another shot at a forever home too! He’s currently stuck in our overcrowded kennels. He’s a stalky, brindle and white pit bull terrier mix. He is completely house trained but will mark when he first arrives at a new place. Lots of dogs tend to do that. He’s been fine in his crate/kennel. He does excellent with other dogs! Previously lived with a 3 year old kid and did fine with him. Rocky does well for baths and car rides. Knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. No food or toy aggression. Rocky was adopted for several months but was returned due to him protecting what he believed to be his. He’s NOT a fan of strangers walking in or around the house or his people. He’s perfectly fine with HIS people, it’s new guests he doesn’t like. His adopter had muzzled him when friends came over and he did decent. Most of the time they put him up in a room. Rocky needs a proper introduction with new people outside of the house before allowing that person inside. His home was also surrounded by a solid wooden fence. A lady walked into the yard and Rocky had went after her. Rocky‘s ideal home would be one with a doggie playmate and someone who is very dog savy with larger breeds. With the right work he’d make a great guard dog and protector of the home. He was very loving towards the people that adopted him and he’s had no problems meeting people here at the shelter. It’s just once he gets into a home, he will become protective of the area and his people. His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Story
Hello there, I'm Azora, a spirited 3-year-old Pit Mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life! I'm ready to bring a whole lot of joy and companionship into your life. I've got energy to spare and a playful spirit that's infectious! Whether it's a game of fetch, a run in the park, or some exciting outdoor activities, count me in. I'm ready to be your active partner, joining you on adventures and keeping the good times rolling. My walker described me as a very friendly and sweet girl, and I wear that title proudly! I'm a people-lover through and through, and I can't wait to be your loyal and affectionate companion. My charming smile and expressive ears are just a glimpse of the warmth I'll bring into your life. I'll be honest - I can get a bit reactive around other dogs, so it's important to introduce me to new furry friends with care. My walker noted that I might do better with some space from other dogs. A bit of patience and gradual socialization might be the key to helping me feel more comfortable around my four-legged counterparts. I am heartworm positive but the treatment for that if provided by the shelter once I'm adopted. You just have to make sure you have time to bring me in for two sperate treatments. The adoption staff can go over that with you in more detail. I'm looking for a loving and patient home where my energy and affection will be cherished. While I might need some extra guidance when it comes to interacting with other dogs, I promise to shower you with love and companionship. If you're willing to work with me, I'll be a loyal and devoted friend for life.

Story
Hey there, I'm Chipper, and I'm eager to tell you a bit about myself. My walker has described me as having high energy, which means I'm always ready for an adventure! I may not be the easiest to walk - I tend to zig-zag a bit - but that's just because I'm so curious and love to explore. And while I may be vocal around other dogs, it's hard to tell if it's just my playful nature or something else. When it comes to people, though, I'm as sweet as can be. I absolutely love hugs and can't get enough of them! Treats are another favorite of mine, and I'll take them oh-so-gently from your hand. I've already mastered sitting, and I'm quickly learning new tricks like "down." One thing I really enjoy is car rides - there's just something about the wind in my fur and the sights whizzing by that I find exhilarating. And speaking of new experiences, I recently had the opportunity to visit the U of E campus, where I made some new human friends. Now, I'll admit, I may have a few quirks when it comes to other dogs. While I didn't seem to like them up close, I did fine from a distance. And I didn't quite hit it off with Kane, but I got along just fine with Champ. Overall, I'm just a lovable pup looking for a family who can appreciate my playful spirit and help me continue to learn and grow. If you're ready to welcome a sweet and spirited companion into your life, then look no further - I'm Chipper, and I can't wait to become your loyal friend and faithful companion. Let's make some memories together - I promise, you won't regret it!

Story
Hello there, I'm Stanley, a sweet and playful boy eager to find my forever home where I can share my love and zest for life with my new family. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First things first, I'm quite the pro when it comes to walking on a leash. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or an exciting adventure in the park, I'm always up for a walk. Now, I must admit, motion tends to excite me, especially when I see bicycles whizzing by, but you won't catch me barking - I'm as quiet as can be. Oh, and let's not forget about my love for rolling in the grass - there's just something so satisfying about it! When it comes to car rides, I'm a pro at those too! I ride well in the car and love nothing more than sticking my head out the window and feeling the wind in my fur. And speaking of love, I'm a big fan of affection. Once I'm comfortable, I'll flop over and ask for belly rubs with all the charm I can muster. Now, I must confess, I can be a bit reactive to other animals I see, and I tend to play a little rough and be a bit mouthy at times. But with a little training and guidance, I'm sure I'll be the perfect gentleman in no time. Oh, and one more thing - I have a tendency to mark a lot while outdoors, so a little patience and understanding in that department would be greatly appreciated. In my previous home, I lived alongside children and was described as a very loving boy. I have a fondness for rope toys, tennis balls, and squeaky toys, and I absolutely adore car rides. When it comes to potty time, I'll even stand by the door to let you know when I need to go. Despite my separation anxiety, which could be helped with medication when left alone, I promise to shower you with love and affection every moment that we're together. So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome me, Stanley, into your heart and home? I can't wait to become your loyal companion and faithful friend.

Story
Hi! I'm Chanel (pronounced like the perfume). Please don't let my kennel behavior scare you. I'm really very sweet. For example, I was in the lobby recently greeting visitors, and a very nice lady told me that I looked like the happiest girl ever. I am friendly to people and other dogs that I meet. I'm also good on a leash. I'm better in places that don't have a lot of squirrels, birds, geese, or other critters like that because I get excited and distracted, and REALLY want to chase them. With that being said, I do like trail hiking in the woods and a Starbucks Pup Cup on the way home is the best. I'm very energetic and I'm always up for a walk or game of fetch. And I really do play fetch! I will bring a ball or toy right back to you and place it ever so gently in your hand. I'm smart and know how to follow commands like sit, and I've even been working on learning to shake paws - I'm getting pretty good at it, if I do say so myself! Plus, I have a special talent for catching treats in my mouth - it's always a fun little game. Car rides are a bit of a pickle for me. I want to go places and I hop right into the back seat and sit or lay well, but I do get a little anxious at times. I recently visited my buddy's home and I was very well behaved. No potty accidents and I was respectful of her stuff. I was so happy, I did some zoomies! She said I can visit her any time, and she thinks I'd be a wonderful addition to any family. Overall, I'm just a sweet and affectionate girl looking for a home where I can thrive. If you're ready to welcome a loving and energetic companion into your life, then look no further. I can't wait to become your loyal friend and faithful companion. Let's make some memories together - I promise you won't regret it!

Story
Momo!      DOB: 2/2018       Weight: 70 lbs   MoMo is a very handsome Boxer mix! He is great with people and kids. Always super excited to see you and turns into a crazy wiggle butt. However, Momo prefers to be the only child. Doesn’t care much for cats or other dogs. Walks around them fine, but will pick a fight if they get too close. He loves to ride in the car and has a medium energy level. Likes to get out for walks and sniff around. Knows how to sit and will take handouts nicely. No resource guarding issues. He’s very sweet. Could use a good food schedule and some more exercise. Momo has lived in a house for the past two years and is used to the house life. He is house and crate trained of course.
