Story
Hi, I’m Patty!APBT Mix | 2 yr old | 41 lb   I came to the shelter with my little family after we were found abandoned and trying our best to survive on our own. Even then, I stayed close to my pups and kept them safe. When we arrived, we were all completely covered in ticks and every single one of us tested positive for Lyme disease. I’ve finished my treatment now and feeling so much better! Now I'm ready for a fresh start and a home of my own.   I’m the definition of a sweetheart. I’m petite, gentle, and so easy to love. I'm potty trained and I enjoy meeting new people. I’m dog friendly and don't seem to mind cats! With my calm, loving personality, I’ll probably do wonderful with kids, which makes me a perfect fit for just about any family!   I’ve been a devoted mom, a survivor, and a gentle soul through everything life has thrown at me. Now I’m ready for someone who will love me back just as much as I love them.   Spayed | Heartworm negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives. Adoption fee is $100 Patty did test positive for Lyme disease, and completed her 28 day treatment of antibiotics. It is recommended she stay on flea/tick prevention year round and receive a Lyme vaccine yearly.   Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted, staff will review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come as well to ensure compatability.   If it’s a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day! Story
Hi, I’m Taro! Mixed Breed | 4 yrs old | 50 lbs   I came to the shelter as a stray, and sadly, my owner never came for me. But I believe that just means my true family is still out there—and I’m ready for my second chance!   I arrived underweight and dealing with some skin dermatitis (you might notice the missing fur around my mouth). With a little TLC, good food, and time, my coat will grow back beautifully—and I’m already feeling so much better!   I’ve lived with other dogs before and did well with them. While I haven’t officially met kids or cats here at the shelter just yet, my friends say they’ll keep everyone updated once I do.   At first, I can be a little cautious with new people. But if you give me just a moment to warm up, my sweet personality shines through. I’m looking for someone patient and kind, who will help me learn that it’s safe to trust again—and in return, you’ll gain a loving best friend who will never let you down.   Could you be the one to show me what it feels like to finally be home?   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $100 and I go home with 12 months of FREE heartworm/flea & tick prevention! ($350 value)   Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by filling out an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once we receive your application, a staff member will review it and contact you to schedule a meet and greet. If you already have dogs at home, they must attend the meet and greet as well. If it’s a good fit, you may be able to take your new best friend home the same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday: 11 AM – 4 PM |Tuesday & Friday: 11 AM – 5 PM |Wednesday: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thursday & Sunday: CLOSED ##2501589##

$0 ADOPTION FEE + ONE FULL YEAR OF FREE HEARTWORM/FLEA & TICK PREVENTION!   This 2-3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix isn’t just unique, he’s one in over 20,000. Feral • Rare Hermaphrodite • Gentle Soul LONGEST SHELTER RESIDENT!!! Intake February 2025.    Miles didn’t arrive at our shelter like most dogs. He had to be humanely live-trapped after surviving on his own in the wild- feral, alone, and completely shut down. He never knew a life that involved humans. When he first came to us, he was a ghost of a dog… silently curled into a ball, eating only during the dark hours when no one was watching. He wouldn’t walk on a leash. Wouldn’t go outside. Wouldn’t move. He never growled, barked, or showed a single sign of aggression, just fear and total emotional withdrawal. A lifeless shell.   We later discovered Miles is a rare hermaphrodite, meaning he has both male and female reproductive anatomy, something we’ve never encountered before! This doesn’t affect his personality or overall health, but it makes him truly one of a kind.   We tried every kind of treat you could imagine, but he never showed interest in any of them. It wasn't until offering a McDonald's cheeseburger that we found something he liked. With time, he eventually started eating it from our hand, so gently. That was the first spark of trust.    Despite his traumatic beginnings, the turning point came when we introduced him to another dog. For the first time… he played. He acted like a normal dog! Since then, we’ve watched him take brave steps forward. He now greets familiar staff members at the kennel gate and enjoys exploring the play yard with dog friends. He’s curious, gentle, and soaking up this new world of kindness.. one small victory at a time.   But Miles still has a long way to go, and he needs the right environment to continue growing.   Miles Needs: A calm, patient home A secure 6-foot privacy fence (no exceptions) At least one confident, friendly dog to guide him A patient, experienced adopter who understands the journey of rehabilitating a feral dog   A trainer who spent time with Myles, painted a custom portrait of him to go home with his adopter!  Please Know: Rehabilitating a feral dog like Miles takes time, consistency, and trust-building. You’ll need to let him set the pace, allowing him to observe, learn, and slowly come out of his shell. The rewards are quiet but profound: seeing the first tail wag, hearing the first bark, or watching him sleep peacefully for the first time in a real home.   If you have the heart, the patience, and the setup to give Miles the second chance he never knew he deserved… he just might show you a kind of love that words can’t describe.   Neutered, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. $0 ADOPTION FEE! If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet! We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    Closed Sunday/Thursday   11-4 Saturday/Monday   11-5 Tuesday/Friday 11-6 Wednesday ##2318260##

Story
A kind animal lover is sponsoring Lucky's adoption fee, which means it is $0 to adopt!🐾 Meet Lucky 🐾Lucky is proof that love is a language all on its own. This sweet pitbull (on the smaller side at about 30–40 lbs) just wants to be close to his people. 💖 Touch is his love language—if you’re nearby, Lucky will be right there soaking up every bit of affection. 🥰He’s dog-friendly 🐕 and has spent much of his life with his best friend, Chloe. While they used to be a bonded pair, we haven't had any interest in them being adopted together - so they're now available individually in hopes of finding each of them their perfect home they deserve.Lucky is a loyal, gentle soul who simply wants a cozy spot next to someone who loves him back. He's ready to start his next chapter with a family who will give him the care, love, and attention he's been waiting for. 💕If you’re ready to open your heart and home, Lucky is waiting for you. 🏡🐾
