DukeTerrier mix1 year old76 poundsI am a beefy boy that is a low rider.I came to shelter because my owner left me at a boarding facility and never came back. What a sad day!According to the boarding facility, he does need some work on pottying outside. Hopefully, his neuter will solve this problem. He can be destructive with toys, so rugged and durable ones are best. He loves to play ball! He is very playful. Friends with everyone he meets. He can be quite loud with his voice and loves to talk to his people. I have friends here at the shelter. He would do best if there is another dog friend in the home to play and romp with. He is new here in our shelter so more info to come!

Story
Meet Kira! A terminally ill senior searching for her hero. This is Kira, our 10.5 yr old sweetheart who has found herself back in our care after many years in a loving home. Through no fault of her own, life changed for her family, and now she is once again looking for a place to belong.   Kira has a cancerous mass on her tail and has been given an estimated 5-6 months to live (maybe more, maybe less.) She has some age-related challenges, including urinary incontinence, but she's still full of spunk. Her spirit is still so bright. She smiles. She wags. She soaks up affection. She still chooses joy every single day.   Kira does wonderfully with cats, and she gets along with calm, respectful dogs who give her space. What she needs now isn’t a long term commitment…It’s a soft landing. A warm bed.A gentle routine.A human willing to love a senior girl through her final chapter. If you have the heart to make a huge difference; to give a hospice dog comfort, love, and dignity in her last days... Kira needs you.You could be the person who makes her final months the best of her life. Her adoption fee is $0 for an approved hospice home. If you can give a senior girl a peaceful place to rest her head, Kira is waiting for you.   Spayed | Heartworm negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives. Kira did test positive for Lyme disease and completed her antibiotic treatment prior to her diagnosis. It is recommended she stay on flea/tick prevention year round.   Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Story
Hi, I’m Taro! Mixed Breed | 4 yrs old | 50 lbs   I came to the shelter as a stray, and sadly, my owner never came for me. But I believe that just means my true family is still out there—and I’m ready for my second chance!   I arrived underweight and dealing with some skin dermatitis (you might notice the missing fur around my mouth). With a little TLC, good food, and time, my coat will grow back beautifully—and I’m already feeling so much better!   I’ve lived with other dogs before and did well with them. While I haven’t officially met kids or cats here at the shelter just yet, my friends say they’ll keep everyone updated once I do.   At first, I can be a little cautious with new people. But if you give me just a moment to warm up, my sweet personality shines through. I’m looking for someone patient and kind, who will help me learn that it’s safe to trust again—and in return, you’ll gain a loving best friend who will never let you down.   Could you be the one to show me what it feels like to finally be home?   Neutered, Heartworm & Lyme negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee has been sponsored and I go home with 12 months of FREE heartworm/flea & tick prevention! ($350 value)   Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by filling out an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once we receive your application, a staff member will review it and contact you to schedule a meet and greet. If you already have dogs at home, they must attend the meet and greet as well. If it’s a good fit, you may be able to take your new best friend home the same day! We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it’s the right match for everyone.   Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday: 11 AM – 4 PM |Tuesday & Friday: 11 AM – 5 PM |Wednesday: 11 AM – 6 PM | Thursday & Sunday: CLOSED ##2501589##

Story
Hi, I’m Ava   2-year-old | American Bully | 74 lbs of muscle and confidence   I am an absolutely stunning girl who may look intimidating at first, but once I know you, I’m a total lovebug.    I didn’t get much socialization early in life — (which is sadly how dogs like me get unfair reputations.) Because of that, sometimes it takes me a moment to warm up to new people and situations. But once I do, I love affection and being close to my people.   I’ve lived with other dogs before but may be dog-selective. I'd probably do best with a male dog close to my size with proper introductions & I’m good with kids. Because I'm a natural protector & hunter who didn't get much socialization, I need a home without small animals (no small dogs, cats, or small critters of any kind - and none close by!)   Because I’m a strong, powerful breed, I need an experienced owner who understands owning a dog like me comes with great responsibility (but boy, am I worth it!) A secure, fenced yard is strongly preferred to help keep everyone safe.   I may not be for everyone — but for the right home, I’ll be a loyal, loving companion who bonds deeply and loves hard.   Spayed, Heartworm Negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED! Ava did test postitive for Lyme disease and on her month long treatment of Doxycycline for treatment. She will have been given a Lyme Vaccine and should receive one yearly at her vet appointments. Ava should also remain on tick/flea prevention each month, all year long.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet! We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    Adoption Hours Monday & Saturday 11am-4pm l Tuesday & Friday 11am-5pm | Wednesday 11am-6pm | Thursday & Sunday CLOSED ##2595671##
