Story
Luca (b.3/6/2022) a blue-eyed, male pittie. He is the sweetest boy who is looking for a place to call home! Luca has lots of playful energy and loves his chew toys, crawling on laps, and snuggling! Lucas is potty trained. He is crate trained but is working on overcoming some negative stimulus while in his crate. He loves his food/high value chews and doesn’t want anyone around while he enjoys it. He will need slow introductions to new dog friends but then will need some time to decompress, which who doesn’t after meeting new people. He needs a home that will provide consistent calming enrichment and continual positive reinforcement. He would be good in a home with older children that respect his space and will not take things away from him. Must live within a 50 mile radius of Omaha/Council Bluffs to continue working with the trainer.
Luca does have a tendency to guard items, such as food and his kennel, so a home with no children under 12 would be best. Luca, as with all Muddy Paws dogs, comes with free BEHAVIORAL training for life!
The suggested adoption donation for Luca is $300. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.
Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter to take the pet to be altered at NHS free of charge. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The contract states the alter must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or adopter will be in breach of contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alter to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately after the procedure is complete. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
Before applying to adopt Blue, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.
