Story
This is Kooper. I got him in San Antonio Texas about four years ago. He’s been a great dog I just can’t afford to keep him. I recently lost my job and I’m looking for a good home for him. He gets this skin allergy every fall and I have to squirt some omega fish oil on his food and it clears right up but other than that he’s in good health. I haven’t had his shots yet this year

Story
Major is a 5-year-and-4-month-old Bully mix, tug-toy connoisseur, and slow-living enthusiast who has been with us since 7/9/2022. If you’re looking for a dog who blooms under structure, adores predictable routines, and gives his whole heart to the person he trusts, Major just might be your guy. Major has had a couple of concerning bite incidents in the past—one involving a surprise encounter (based on the information we were given) prior to his arrival at Town and Country Animal Rescue (TAC) and another involving an unsolicited bite to a volunteer at TAC. While the reasons weren’t entirely clear, what was clear was that Major needed more support than we could provide on our own. So we partnered with a professional trainer, and for the last three months Major has been putting in the work. And wow—has he grown. Under leadership, Major absolutely thrives. He responds beautifully to clear communication, calm handlers, and environments where he knows what to expect. He’s come leaps and bounds in training, showing us every day that he wants to succeed and that he’s capable of being an incredible companion in the right home. Major’s ideal lifestyle? - Slow-paced days - Predictable routines - Low traffic housing (no apartment/shared living building spaces)  - A human he can depend on And above all else… his beloved purple tug toy (seriously—this thing is his personality at this point) To give Major the very best shot at success in his new home, his adoption will include a required training component: - One session per week for four weeks with Major’s professional trainer - At no cost to the adopter This ensures a smooth, supported transition and keeps Major practicing the skills he’s worked so hard to build. Major is the type of dog who bonds deeply, listens intently, and puts in genuine effort when he feels safe and understood. He’s not a “wing it” kind of guy—he’s a “give me a plan, give me a leader, and I will give you everything I’ve got” kind of dog. After over two years in the shelter, Major is more than ready for his chance. If you’re experienced, patient, and looking for a loyal, structured companion who will reward your consistency with devotion (and spirited tug sessions), Major may be the perfect match. Come meet him—and don’t forget the purple tug toy. Part of Major's adoption has been sponsored, so his adoption fee is $100 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family and pets for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them. Story
Sadie is a young Pitbull Terrier (born 2022) who is hoping for a new family who will play with her and teach her new things.  She is friendly with people of all ages as well as other pets.  The perfect home for Sadie would be with a family who has time to spend with her and give her the appropriate training that she needs.  She is leash trained and knows some commands.   Sadie does well in a crate, but may need a little help with potty training.   She won't make messes in her kenneI and if she's able to go outside within 30 minutes after drinking water, she'll be OK.   A fenced in yard is needed in her new home, she has lots of energy and would love to be able to run around and play outside.  When she comes inside, she'll be very happy to rest in your lap and give kisses! The suggested adoption donation for Sadie is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
The Boy Who Lived: Meet Harry Potter Age: 21 Months | Weight: 50lbs | Special Power: Parvo Survivor & Professional Cuddler They say some of the best things in life take a little extra time and patience. Harry Potter has been waiting for his "forever home" for over a year—that’s over 400 days of wishing and hoping. A True Survivor Harry isn’t just a handsome, slate-gray charmer; he’s a miracle. Having survived the deadly Parvovirus as a tiny pup, he has a zest for life that is absolutely infectious. He conquered the odds once, and now he’s looking for a partner to help him conquer the world. Best of all? Harry is already house trained and crate trained! He treats his crate like his very own Gryffindor Common Room—it’s his safe, quiet space where he goes to relax and recharge. Because he’s already mastered the "magic" of house manners, you can skip the puppy accidents and go straight to the fun stuff! The Ultimate Tri-Wizard Athlete Are you looking for a reason to get outside? Harry is your guy! He’s a high-energy athlete who thrives in the fresh air. His Quidditch Pitch: A big, fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart's content, no broomstick required. His Motivation: He is extremely food-motivated. If you have a treat, you have his undivided attention (and his big heart). His Growth Potential: While he’s a strong boy who currently thinks "leash walking" is an Olympic rowing event, his love for treats makes him a dream to train. Since he’s already mastered the crate, you can focus all your training "charms" on helping him become a leash-walking pro. A Soulful Connection Harry is a "velcro dog" in the making. While he can be a little shy or "Muggle-wary" around strangers, once you are in his inner circle, you are there for life. He is looking for a patient soul who understands that the best friendships aren't built in a day, but are well worth the wait. Harry’s Wishlist: An Active Lifestyle: Someone who loves long walks or backyard play as much as he does. Patience & Training: A human who sees his "counter surfing" as him just looking for the Marauder's Map (or snacks!) and can use positive reinforcement to help him become a polished gentleman. A Quiet Start: A home where he can settle in at his own pace. The Only Apple of Your Eye: Harry is dog-selective and hasn't met cats, so he’d prefer to be your one-and-only or meet a very compatible canine sibling. Ready to be Harry’s Hero? Don’t let this survivor wait another day. If you have a fenced yard, a pocket full of treats, and a heart ready for a loyal, house-trained companion, Harry is waiting for you. Harry has spent half his life in rescue. He has the strength, the spirit, and the love—he just needs his "chosen one."   The suggested adoption donation for Harry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Mary Magdalene is an American Bully, born in 2020.  She is such a sweet girl and she LOVES people!  Mary is back in rescue through no fault of her own. She has chronic allergies that require management through a vet. It is super important that her new people agree to ongoing allergy management and care.  Mary has had a lot of upheaval recently, so she needs slow introductions with other dogs especially if they are bigger.  In spite of everything she's been through, Mary remains very loving and friendly to all kinds of people.   Here's a few things we know about Mary: She LOVES people (did we mention this?) and snuggling! Easy-going and goes with the flow. Good with small dogs, just a little vocal when meeting them.  Needs slow introductions with other dogs, especially if they're bigger than her. Does not guard her food. Doesn't need a lot of exercise, but seems happy to go on walks. Goes into a crate very well and will usually let you know when she needs to go outside. The Perfect Home for Mary Someone who loves to snuggle on the couch or in bed at night. Fenced yard. Other dogs in the home are okay, as long as she still gets lots of attention from her people.   Mary would be okay in a home with older kids (age 6+) due to her skin sensitivities.     Please Note:  Mary came to rescue with severe allergies. She has been under vet care for treatment and will need to be on a special diet, possibly medications for allergies.  If you're interested in adopting Mary, Muddy Paws will consider foster-to-adopt.     The suggested adoption donation for Mary Magdalene is $400 which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
