They say some of the best things in life take a little extra time and patience. Harry Potter has been waiting for his "forever home" for over a year—that’s over 400 days of wishing and hoping.

Harry isn’t just a handsome, slate-gray charmer; he’s a miracle. Having survived the deadly Parvovirus as a tiny pup, he has a zest for life that is absolutely infectious. He conquered the odds once, and now he’s looking for a partner to help him conquer the world.
Best of all? Harry is already house trained and crate trained! He treats his crate like his very own Gryffindor Common Room—it’s his safe, quiet space where he goes to relax and recharge. Because he’s already mastered the "magic" of house manners, you can skip the puppy accidents and go straight to the fun stuff!
The Ultimate Tri-Wizard Athlete
Are you looking for a reason to get outside? Harry is your guy! He’s a high-energy athlete who thrives in the fresh air.
His Quidditch Pitch: A big, fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart's content, no broomstick required.
His Motivation: He is extremely food-motivated. If you have a treat, you have his undivided attention (and his big heart).
His Growth Potential: While he’s a strong boy who currently thinks "leash walking" is an Olympic rowing event, his love for treats makes him a dream to train. Since he’s already mastered the crate, you can focus all your training "charms" on helping him become a leash-walking pro.

Harry is a "velcro dog" in the making. While he can be a little shy or "Muggle-wary" around strangers, once you are in his inner circle, you are there for life. He is looking for a patient soul who understands that the best friendships aren't built in a day, but are well worth the wait.

The suggested adoption donation for Harry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.
Before applying to adopt Harry, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.
Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
