Landry is one of those sadly and insane stories of a dog spending month after month at a small rural shelter and constantly facing the chance of being the next one euthanized.  The shelter workers were determined to not let that happen.  They fought and they finally won the threat of him never leaving when they found a foster lady to take Landry and keep him safe out of the shelter and helping him search for a home.  This boy was so upset at the shelter because it is not a good environment to live when you just want to play and run and of course there is no room to do that in a small kennel!  The shelter people KNEW that Landry was a dog they needed to help save.  Yes he is a Pitbull mix…but his heart is that of a Golden Retriever temperament. Landry has proven himself to be a great boy and just as friendly and loving with people as a Golden Retriever would be.  He is exceptional with kitties and EXCELLENT with other dogs! This boy just wants to have fun and help everyone around him to enjoy life together with him.  Landry is already neutered, HW-, has 4 rounds of vaccines currently and rabies all done!! He’s 100% ready for his forever home! He does great sleeping in a crate at night and loves snuggle and belly rub time!! Landry is 40ish pounds, and is truly NOT a big dog at all. He’s a short stocky boy that is estimated to be around 8 months. Chance is a 5-year-old social butterfly who loves to snuggle! He truly loves everyone and wants to be with his people as much as possible. Chance loves to go for rides in the car and is a little hesitant around water until he feels comfortable then loves to swim. Chance knows his commands but could use some refreshers on manners, he gets excited and jumps and pulls on his leash. Because of this we are looking for a home with older children only, he may knock over smaller kids. He will chase cats for fun and loves to play with other dogs- under supervision. He tends to be too much for some dogs. if you're looking for someone to keep you warm through the winter and on adventures all year round, this is your guy! Chance has shown us that he really (like REALLY) loves his people and cannot be without them. He would benefit from crate training or better yet, he goes wherever you go! Chance has previously become destructive when left free in a home alone. We think he gets really upset and afraid that he has been left behind. We have not seen this behavior in his kennel, which makes us believe he would do well in a crate, small increments at a time until he can settle in and recognize this space as his own.

Jack is a 5-year-old Pitbull who had a rough start to life and is adjusting well to life as a tripod. Despite his past he is an absolute love bug and holds no grudges! He was fostered in the South after his amputation for about 6 months with a family with 3 other dogs, 4 cats and children. They loved him so much they even made a little book with his story, photos and details about his relationships with cats, people, dogs and his progress. Jack LOVES people and other animals and was well known in their neighborhood as he liked to greet everyone he met. He is very emotionally intelligent and can tell when people are sad and will bring them toys to try to cheer them up. He also is smart, eager to please, and is savvy in reading other animal cues and respecting their boundaries. He is currently fostered with an 8-year-old chihuahua mix and is very gentle with her and knows she is the boss. Some of Jack's favorite things include TOYS, especially squeaky toys. He is great at occupying himself with toys or chewing bones if his human companions can't provide him attention. He loves snuggling and couch time. He likes ice cubes, a scoop of peanut butter before bed, rolling in the grass on a sunny day and getting brushed. Jack has so much to offer his future family and will provide endless laughs, snuggles and joy. One look into his soulful eyes and it will melt your heart! I'm Randall! When I came to the shelter I was in bad shape, I was bald and skinny but the girls took great care of me and now I'm healthy as can be! I am a bit afraid of new situations and need some encouragement but in my past when I went to new places people weren't very nice and shoed me away, so I'm trying to learn not everyone is going to do that. I am great with other dogs and cats because after all in my experience they were never mean to me! The girls here at the shelter are doing a great job at showing me I can trust people and I am learning everyday!
