STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  &#226&#156&#168 Meet Cream Soda — The Happiest Little Pittie Around &#226&#156&#168 Hi! I’m Cream Soda, a petite pitty with a BIG smile and an even bigger heart. I may be missing an ear (adds character, if you ask me), but I didn’t lose an ounce of joy — I’m truly one of the happiest, most loving little girls you’ll ever meet. I adore everyone. Kids, adults, tall people, tiny people — if you have hands for pets, I’m in. I’m gentle, affectionate, and love being close to my people. Cuddling is one of my favorite hobbies, right up there with snack time. Speaking of snacks… YES PLEASE. I absolutely love treats, take them very nicely, and am always polite and eager. Snack time is serious business, but I handle it like a lady. Cream Soda didn’t get her Christmas wish this year, but maybe she’s meant for something even better… a New Year’s resolution family? One who’s ready to spoil her, snuggle her, and give her the forever home she so deeply deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, joyful companion who will love you with her whole heart — Cream Soda is waiting. Make 2026 the year Cream Soda finally gets her happily ever after. Apply to adopt and meet this little ray of sunshine. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Meet Gnocchi – The Underdog Who’s Been Waiting 5 Years for His Someone Five years ago, Gnocchi’s life was saved just in time—he was hours away from being euthanized at a high-kill shelter. Scared and unsure, he came into our care... and somehow, he’s still here. Not a single application. Not even a question. It’s like the world forgot about him. His foster mom loves him more than anything, but wants more for him. Now around 8 years old, Gnocchi isn’t flashy. He’s not the life of the party. He’s more of a homebody with an old soul—content with a quiet routine, a soft place to land, and the occasional belly rub. He’s not clingy, but he does enjoy affection in his own time. He knows basic commands like sit, shake, and down, and he’s fully house-trained. He’s also respectful—doesn’t chew things he shouldn’t and doesn’t try to escape a fenced yard. Gnocchi would thrive in a calm, adult-only home—maybe with a bachelor or a couple who understands the value of a quiet companion. He’s dog-friendly but isn’t looking to make a ton of friends. He walks okay on a leash, but he’s a strong boy at 80lbs, so he’ll need someone who can handle his size. He doesn’t mind storms or loud noises. He doesn’t need constant attention. He’s okay if you work long hours. He really doesn’t ask for much—just food, love, and a few gentle pets. Gnocchi is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has no known medical concerns. He’s just... overlooked. Forgotten. One in a literal million. Waiting for someone to notice the quiet gem he is. We know his perfect person is out there. It may feel like a needle in a haystack, but Gnocchi deserves to be someone’s one and only. Could it be you? All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. Chowder is a tri-color bully with a stocky, low-rider build and the kind of presence that makes people stop and say, “Wow.” And then there are those eyes — one of each color — that will steal your heart in about two seconds flat. This guy lives for mealtime (and he knows exactly when it’s coming), loves a good chew toy. He plays hard, chews enthusiastically, and brings big energy wherever he goes. Chowder would thrive with an active family who enjoys adventures, playtime, and including their dog in everyday life. Whether it’s walks, outings, or just being your shadow, he’s ready to be all in. If you’re looking for a strong, handsome companion with personality, heart, and the most incredible eyes you’ve ever seen, Chowder is your guy. Apply to meet him today — he’s ready to start his next adventure with you.
