Fiona is a two year old pit mix that is a sweet cuddly dog that loves to investigate the backyard so a fence would be make this girl happy. Since she has recovered from motherhood she has regained her strength and can pull while being walked. We are working on this. Fiona tries to sneak out the door so be careful when getting your mail. She gets along with my 55 lb. male dog. Her prey drive is strong so I am not sure about small dogs but I would say no cats. She has some small dogs along the fence that she barks and runs the fence with. But seems to be mellowing after time. She gets along with my 8 year old female neighbor but I don't know about younger kids. Now the biggest and most important need that Fiona has is some one that will manage her surroundings. She does not like men and will possibly bite if given a chance. That requires being put in another room or crate when men are in the house. Adoption fee is $250. Located in High Ridge MO This is Ziggy, he is a 2.5 year old male neutered Pitt. He’s approximately 50-60 lbs. Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella are good until Nov. 2021 other than that I have no medical history. He was surrendered by his owner due to unhealthy living conditions for his pets. He is very good with people once he warms up. Does good for baths and nail trims. Doesn’t chew up beds or blankets etc. Good with other big dogs. Not good with small dogs. NO CATS - NO KIDS. We have a male lab golden mix and they were BFF’s after day 2. He loves to burrow under covers, walks well on a leash, doesn’t need expensive food, rides great in the car and has a great warning bark at strangers at the door. He doesn’t bark at the wind or anything excessive. We brought him home for three weeks. He did amazing. We love him and would have kept him but unfortunately something in him doesn’t do well with all kids. THIS ANIMAL IS BEING POSTED AS A COURTESY. Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Bronx is one of our long-stay dogs who was surrendered by his family and then became very stressed in the shelter environment. Michael, his foster dad, stepped up and took Bronx home, and he's been doing great there ever since! Michael described Bronx as "playful, loyal, and obedient, " and shared that "once you become one of his people he is an almost perfect dog. He loves to be close to his people and chill." Bronx's favorite activities include taking long walks, playing fetch in the back yard, giving kisses, and snuggling on the couch under a blanket and watching TV. He's also house- and crate-trained and is dog selective. When asked what Bronx's ideal home looks like, Michael said that he's always thought Bronx would be the "perfect companion for an over the road truck driver." If that's not in his future, then one or two adults in a low-traffic home would be an ideal home for Bronx.

An application is REQUIRED to meet our dogs unless you come to a meet/greet event. Meet/Greet Events: You can visit our website to find our when we have scheduled meet/greet events www.luckyk9rescue.org. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have facility for you to come visit our dogs which is why an application is required prior to meeting. Once applications are submitted - if you meet the minimum requirements for the dog you are interested in, the application is forwarded to the foster for their review. It can take time for us and the foster to review all the applications received. This part of the process can take a few weeks, sometimes more. Due to the number of applications we receive for all the dogs/puppies we are not able to respond to everyone as to the status of their application. You will be contacted if you are selected to schedule a meet/greet. Adoption Process: An application is submitted and approved, a meet/greet is scheduled and a home visit is required. The adoption process takes at minimum of a week AFTER your application has been approved and a meet and greet scheduled. If selected as a potential adoptive family you will be contacted by phone, text or email to schedule a meet/greet. Because we are all volunteers and have full-time jobs & families out adoption process does take time. Forever homes are chosen based on the dog's personality and the applicant we feel offers the best fit for the dog. Please be patient with us through this process. Adoption decisions are based input from both the foster family and the board requirements. Adopters are selected based on the best fit for the dog and are not selected on a first come first serve basis. Adoption fees cover: Spay/neuter, clear stool sample, HW test for dogs brought in over 4-mths of age, all required and a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. vaccinations Puppies will have all age-appropriate vaccinations; however, follow-up vetting may be required depending on age but are covered by the rescue at our veterinarian. If over 2 mths of age they are on monthly HW & flea/tick prevention. Our adoption fees vary based on the age of the dog: >>Puppies up to 1yr $350 >>1 yr to 4 yrs $300 >>5 to 7 yrs $250 >>7 yrs and up $200 Who are we: Just like many smaller rescue organizations, Lucky K9 Rescue is 100% volunteer driven. We all work regular full-time jobs and many have families as well. We are foster-based rescue organization, which means all our dogs live in the loving homes of our volunteer foster families. We do not adopt out dogs until they have had time to decompress (typically 3-6 weeks), are fully vetted, we get to know their personalities and ensure there are not any underlying concerns or health issues. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Must own your own home and have a fully fenced back yard - electric or underground fences are not permitted (We do make some concessions regarding fences, but it is on a one-on-one basis and depends on the personality of the dog.)

She did so well in fact, she was invited back for her second camping trip! Her volunteer ( aka Sahara's personal travel agent) reported that she is 100% potty trained and non destructive when free roamed!
