Story
Ziti is a sweet dog who came to us as a stray, so we’re still getting to know him. He’s a thoughtful, observant pup who likes to take his time in new situations. Ziti appears to be more comfortable around women and can be more cautious with men, but with patience, consistency, and kindness, he will continue to open up. Because Ziti’s past is unknown, we’re still learning how he feels about other animals. At this time, we’re unsure how he would do living with other dogs or cats, so any introductions would need to be slow, thoughtful, and well managed. Ziti would do best in a home that understands the importance of giving him time to build trust. With the right environment and positive experiences, his confidence will continue to grow. If you’re looking for a sweet pup, Ziti may be the perfect fit for your home.

Story
Ruby is a very sweet but VERY energetic pup! She loves to play fetch and snuggle up to anyone who will let her. We had a baby a few months ago and it has become more apparent that we just cant give her the life she needs or deserves. It breaks our hearts to have to let her go but she deserves a home where she isn’t refined to only a few spaces and a backyard to run in with owners who can walk her! She does have some behavioral issues as she does resource guard and get a bit aggressive if she feels you’re trying to take a food source away - she has never bit us though! She just really needs a home where her owners have the time and patience to properly train her & also exercise her!

Story
Acacia came to us from our shelter partner in SC on 6/15, after spending three months in the shelter there. She's about 2.5-years-old, 47lbs, spayed female, up-to-date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. This low rider is SO sweet, a total love bug, and adores people (including strangers). She loves to cuddle and, like most pitties, doesn't know much about personal space. She will follow you anywhere and everywhere so get ready to have a shadow. ☺️ She's also good with most other dogs! She loves to zoom around. She could likely live with another playful dog or two - we'd just have to do some meet and greets in a fenced-in area first. She is reactive to other dogs *on leash.* She rides well in vehicles, does okay for baths, is tolerant of being crated (after a few initial moments of voicing her displeasure), and she loves treats and toys. She has a great recall, knows “sit” and "down," is learning "stay," knows what “no” and "off" mean, and takes treats gently. We're working on mouthiness when she gets over-aroused, and she does respond well to "no." She's already improved significantly since being here - she's very eager to please and treat motivated. But due to her occasional excited mouthiness and not having boundaries, we think she should not be in a home with young kids, at least while she's still learning what's appropriate. We call her a rocket potato. 🚀🥔 She’s about 50% chill and 50% rocket. 😋 She's pretty laid back and is happy to entertain herself with a toy, and every now and then she gets the zoomies. She IS guaranteed to make you laugh every day! You can learn more about our adoption process at jezziesplace.com/adopt, and feel free to reach out to info@jezziesplace.com with any questions.

Story
Molly is a spayed female pit bull, 2-years-old, and about 55 lbs. Wisdom panel DNA results: 57% American Pit Bull Terrier, 39% American Staffordshire Terrier, 2% Bulldog, 1% Boston Terrier, 1% American Bulldog. She's all muscle, has kind of short legs, a big head, and a big heart. 😋 Molly was an owner surrender from CT. Her owners adore her but despite a lot of training and effort, she wasn’t getting along with the older dog in her home. Molly has some BIG feelings about other dogs, and has a high prey drive, so needs to be the only pet in the home. No dogs, cats, or small animals. She’s working on her reactivity on walks and in the car (crating in the car would be best). We’ll continue her muzzle training while she’s here. Molly is very friendly and good with people, including strangers and the vet, is tolerant of handling, isn’t destructive, is crate trained, and 100% potty trained! 👏 She is tolerant of grooming wipes and baths, and with a peanut butter lick mat, is okay for nail clipping. She received professional training before coming into our rescue and knows several cues like sit, down, stay, place, drop it, heel, kennel, etc. She'a also completed several classes of a Reactive Rovers training class. She has not shown any resource guarding toys or treats with us. This girl is super athletic!! Muscular, fast, agile, confident, not afraid of water, not afraid to get muddy, and very treat and toy driven. She would love a big, private, fenced-in yard to hang out with you in, run, play, and maybe even a chance to learn more skills on agility equipment. 😊 I think she would be a great candidate for dog sports (like wall climb!) at private training facilities (her reactivity would prevent her from going to crowded official events/competitions right now). Molly’s looking for an experienced adopter who can continue working on her dog reactivity, and provide a stable routine for her. She thrives on routine, and her reactivity improves with routine. Her ideal home would be in a quieter area with not many dogs being walked by the home. And huge bonus if you have land with areas to walk her on! Molly requires a home visit as part of her adoption requirements, as we want to make extra sure that she's being set up for success in her new home. She'll go home with a large Ruffland kennel, kennel pad, raised cot (her "place"), muzzle, collars, leash, harness, tons of toys, slow feeder dish, and more! Thanks to Petfinder Foundation's Kia Pet Adoption Grant, Molly’s adoption fee is now fully sponsored! 🎉 If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email us at info@jezziesplace.com.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cloudy is an active, outgoing, and affectionate pup who’s ready to bring joy and energy into the right home. She rides like a dream in the car, loves her meals, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. Bonus points: she seems pretty cat-friendly too! Cloudy is fully crate-trained and has great manners around food—no resource guarding here! She’s happiest when she has a confident dog buddy to show her the ropes and a family that can provide consistency, boundaries, and plenty of exercise. Older kids would be a great fit for her playful personality. She’s still learning the art of housebreaking and leash walking (think “ADHD dog on an adventure”), so patience and positive training will go a long way. Cloudy can bark when she’s bored and doesn’t yet know how to entertain herself, but with structure and engagement, she’ll settle into being the amazing companion she’s meant to be. She would benefit from frozen Kongs or other puzzles to keep her attention. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Romeo, the 75-pound bundle of joy looking for his forever home! This goofy boy has a heart full of love and a penchant for all things fun. Romeo adores his stuffies and can often be seen carrying his favorite toy, affectionately known as “his baby,” on his daily walks.   While Romeo loves water, he’s more of a wader than a swimmer—he tends to sink rather than float! He thrives on car rides, though he might need a little help getting into the car. Once he’s in, he’s the perfect travel companion.   Romeo is a dream in his crate and his favorite treat is marshmallows. He needs a strong handler with breed experience, as he is hyper-focused on toys and aims to please. Training would be beneficial to help him channel his energy and enthusiasm.  Romeo does well with other dogs, especially with proper introductions. He takes direction well from stronger female playmates and would thrive in a home with one. However, due to his size and energy, he would do best in a home without small children, as he might accidentally knock them over or steal their toys.  No kitties or small animals please!    If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will bring endless joy to your life, Romeo is your guy. Come meet him and see if he’s the perfect fit for your family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Apply on our web site: http://4theloveofdog.org/adopt.html May 19, 2025, 3:54 pm
