Story
Lyanna (approximately 64 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This girl is so sweet, you'd think all the sugar in the world had been poured into her! Lyanna has a gorgeous smile which is the first thing you notice about her. It's pretty impressive that her smile is so outstanding when you realize that she has a massive scar running down her back. Her scar is a testament to what was likely a very difficult life prior to her rescue, and her spirit is a testament to the resilience of living things. Lyanna lives her life as though each moment is her best moment - she is enthusiastic about pretty much everything, especially if people are involved. This lover girl is an expert snuggler, and she thrives on human contact. She is also a bit of a bowling ball on leash - very strong and determined to head in what she deems the correct direction. Since receiving human approval is everything to Lyanna, we think that with some positive reinforcement training she will improve her leash skills. She is a gem of a dog who so deserves the happiest of happily-ever-afters...if you can make our dreams for Lyanna come true, come down & meet her today! If you'd like to meet Lyanna and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Good with dogs,
Story
Louie is eager to make your acquaintance. He may come across as a bit shy at first, but give him some time and you’ll uncover a true love-bug just waiting to blossom. Louie does best when he’s allowed to warm up at his own pace, and once he feels comfortable, he’s all about cuddles, affection, and quality time with his people. The great outdoors is Louie’s happy place. He loves exploring the woods with his nose to the ground and enjoys a good game of fetch. He’d thrive with a family who’s around to spend time with him, as he truly values companionship. Louie has a history of being friendly with other dogs, but after previously living in a busy environment with limited space, he’s hoping his next home will offer a calmer atmosphere, one with structure, quiet moments, and plenty of room to relax and decompress. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with loyalty and love, Louie may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Meet Igor (affectionately known as Iggy)! 🐾Igor, or Iggy as his friends call him, is a sweet, sensitive soul who is looking for a calm, home. A bit nervous by nature, Iggy can be shy around new people and situations, but once trust is built, his gentle personality truly shines.Iggy would do best in a quiet home with older children who understand how to give him space and move calmly. Loud noises and sudden movements can be overwhelming, so patience and kindness are key to helping him feel confident. This thoughtful pup enjoys peaceful walks, cozy resting spots, and spending time with people who let him warm up at his own pace. With consistency, reassurance, and positive encouragement, Iggy is already learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all. If you have another dog we do ask that you bring them on down so we can help facilitate a dog to dog introduction with Iggy. If you're looking for a loyal companion and have the time and compassion to help a nervous dog blossom, Igor could be the perfect match. Give Iggy the chance he deserves, and you'll gain a devoted friend for life. Feel free to come on down during our open hours 11-4 everyday EXCEPT Wednesdays. We are also available via email at info@nhspca.org Primary Color: Red Weight: 39.27 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
** Rollie Pollie is looking for a special hospice foster or adopter. ** Rollie was found as a stray in NYC and arrived at our rescue on 1/2/2026. He's estimated to be about 10(ish) years old, 66lbs, is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations, and is quite a beefcake. We recently found out Rollie has a mast cell tumor that is likely high-grade (more aggressive and can spread). A biopsy on a different mass came back with other concerning cells. And a questionable mass in his mouth was found that our vet didn’t like the looks of. That combined with neurological decline and weakness in his back legs/hind end, plus anxiety, and the prognosis isn’t very good. 🥺 Our vet and I agree that the best scenario for him would be a hospice foster or adopter. This would be someone who could give his medications, monitor and assess his quality of life (along with me), and spoil him rotten. At this point, his behavior with other dogs and cats is unknown, and a quieter home would be best. He has not been reactive to the other dogs walking by his kennel or when he walks by theirs. He appears to be mostly potty trained, except does have pee accidents at night. He doesn't enjoy being crated and tries to get out, and has anxiety when confined, so needs someone who is home most of the time. Rollie's friendly with people, including strangers and the vet, and enjoys cuddling on the couch. He will sometimes play with toys, is very food motivated, and likes to nap and cuddle up with blankets and stuffies. He's been tolerant of handling and doesn't appear to resource guard from people. He's a sweet, silly boy. ☺️ If you’re interested in opening your home to this special senior, please email info@jezziesplace.com and we can chat more.
