Are you feeling lucky? We can guarantee you will after meeting our lovely lady Dice! Maybe you will even roll a lucky 7? In a kind of ironic coincidence she is currently 7 years old as well as weighing a little over 77 lbs pounds. Despite being a larger dog she still has her manners about her and even has a few tricks up her sleeve! Our volunteers discovered Dice knows how to sit and shake with both paws! (one at a time though, of course). She can be a little shy at first sight, but once you take the time to get to know her, Dice’s exuberant, bubbly and playful personality truly blossoms! There is still much more to discover about her though and all it takes is for you to come meet her and win the jackpot of a lifetime of love, cuddles and joy watching her zoom and romp around!Dice’s adoption fee is paid by Nina Otero Community School, and a Special Thanks to Mrs. Vigil class fourth grade class! This is deeply appreciated from all of us at the shelter! She is spayed and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations. A licensing fee may apply.

Meet Tigger! This sweet girl is a 4 and a half year old pitty mix with a spunky bouncy attitude. You would never know that she had a rough start to life including a traumatic injury. Tigger came to Espanola humane after being hit by a car, she made a full physical recovery and you would never know there was any damage.She is a true people lover, she is a great cuddle bug (a.k.a heater) and would be a 60 pound lap dog if you let her! She truly adores sunbathing, curling up by the wood stove and especially getting scritches all over, the more the better! Along with Tigger`s physical injuries, her past gave her some trauma. Her foster family has worked diligently with her but she still has some behavioral issues and thus would do best in a one dog home. She is crate trained, potty trained, and knows basic commands. If you have the space in your heart for this beautiful girl she will fill a void you didn`t even know you had!

Sawyer is soon to be `paw-roled` from our Paws in the Pen program in partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department! Each dog is paired with two inmate trainers and enrolled in an 8-week training program that is designed to equip the dog with a nice foundation of training that will help them succeed in their new home. Each of these dogs will go home potty and crate trained with a whole list of cues and basic behaviors; to ensure a successful adoption, we are providing four training sessions to adopters, so you can learn what your dog knows, and an invitation to weekly discounted drop-in classes. These dogs also go home with a biothane leash and collar, 6 months of heartworm prevention, are fully up-to-date on all vaccines and medications, and are spayed and neutered.Say hello to Sawyer, a 10-month-old Pitbull pup with a heart full of sunshine and the friendliest smile you’ll ever see.
