Story
If you need a big boy in your life, look no further than Baxter here. This handsome 5-year-old boy is just a goober who wants to meet everyone. For some of our dogs, we take them out for the day away from the shelter to see how they do. In his case, he does so much better once he gets comfortable with you. He is definitely the one you want to walk to burn his energy, because he will tell you where he wants to go. Baxter is lucky to be resting in a foster home. Story
Haze is 4-year-old blue nose pitbull. I recently just got him about 8 months ago from somebody else who kept him locked up in the room all day. I have had him now for the last 8 months with a newborn baby and another doggie of mine and he has done great but right now I just didn't realize how much time a newborn child would take and two dogs is just too much for me to handle. Haze would do great with a single family with only him and kids he is great with other dogs but I think due to him being an only dog he would do better with being an only dog he loves to be loved and wants all the attention all to himself. He loves kids and is just a big dork.

Story
This is Zeus! He about 10 years old. Zeus is very loving with big humans once he gets to know them. But, he is aggressive with unfamiliar dogs. He was attacked by an unleashed dog when he was younger and ever since has been triggered by them. He has attacked two dogs after his initial incident. Since then my parents have done the best they can to keep him separated from other dogs so he could continue to have a good life. However, my parents are now raising a toddler and the stress of having an aggressive/unpredictable dog, who has never been around toddlers, has become overwhelming and because of this we are looking for a new home. Zeus loves to be outside but his outside time has been limited due to unleashed dogs roaming freely around our neighborhood. We would love for him to find a home with a gated yard so he can bask in the sun as much as his heart desires and be with people who continue loving him like we do.

Story
Cherry is soon to be "paw-roled" from our Paws in the Pen program in partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department! Each dog is paired with two inmate trainers and enrolled in an 8-week training program that is designed to equip the dog with a nice foundation of training that will help them succeed in their new home. Each of these dogs will go home potty and crate trained with a whole list of cues and basic behaviors; to ensure a successful adoption, we are providing four training sessions to adopters, so you can learn what your dog knows, and an invitation to weekly discounted drop-in classes. These dogs also go home with a biothane leash and collar, 6 months of heartworm prevention, are fully up-to-date on all vaccines and medications, and are spayed and neutered.Cherry is a snugglelicious beauty, with the best and biggest smile! She loves to give 'besos', and put her front feet on your shoulders to go in for a hug, and get a full body rub. She is doing so good in her training, and really wants to please her people, and she loves all the people! She wiggles her butt up to anyone for a good pet. Cherry came into the shelter with two puppies, is almost done with her training bootcamp, and is ready to find her perfect home, where she can loaf, play, roll in the grass, and be absolutely adored!

Layla is an absolute love monster! Still a young gal, she's working on her leash manners, but settles in nicely after a lap or two. A big fan of both treats and attention, she'll make an apt pupil for training. Initially undersocialized with other dogs, Layla has quickly blossomed, and loves to get out in the yard with others to romp around. This gorgeous gal just needs some training and exposure to more of the fun things in life, and of course all the love she can handle- which is a lot!
