Bunny — Your Next Happy Shadow & Adventure Buddy If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal, joyful companion, meet Bunny—a 1-year-old bundle of sunshine whose whole body wiggles with excitement the moment she sees you. She’s the perfect blend of playful energy and soft, snuggly sweetness, always ready to brighten your day. Bunny lives for morning kisses, yard zoomies, and any excuse to spend time with her humans. Whether you love hiking, exploring, or simply lounging with a furry friend by your side, Bunny is always up for the adventure. But her journey hasn’t been easy. Bunny arrived as a stray severely underweight at just 16 lbs, battling parasites and uncertainty. With proper vet care and a whole lot of love, she has made an incredible transformation—and now she’s thriving. She’s now fully vetted, spayed, healthy, and ready for the next chapter of her life. In her Dekalb County, GA foster home, she’s doing wonderfully with other dogs. She is good with kids 15+ due to her extra exhuberance, and hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but her gentle, friendly nature suggests she’d likely do well with feline friends too. And with the holidays approaching… Bunny’s biggest wish is a home to call her very own. A family who will continue her journey with love, patience, and joyful new beginnings. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.     Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.   Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England.    Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.    Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application. Story
Welcome Icey! One of our adorable “Weather Pups,” Icey arrived this weekend and is already melting hearts. At just about 4 months old, she came to us after being surrendered with her family to our Alabama rescue partner — and now she’s safe, loved, and settling into her upstate NY foster home.  Icey is beginning her puppy basics and learning the ropes of home life. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, making her ready to start the search for her forever family. This sweet pittie mix is great with everyone she meets — dogs, cats, and kids — but like all puppies, she’ll need continued training, consistency, and positive exposure as she grows. She’s absolutely adorable and full of potential.  If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup to join your family, Icey might be your perfect match! Story
You’d never know that Chyna is our senior pup in the rescue (11-12 yrs old) – she is still likes to play and but she is pretty low maintenance and is mellow and content lounging around – the best of both worlds.  Chyna’s BIGGEST requirement is she needs to be the only pet in the house – no other dogs or cats.  She has been back with us for over a year now and we really want her to find a home to call her own.  Currently in a VA foster home, she loves to be with people and snuggle and she deserves a perfect family and home to call her own! Our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.  Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.  Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Story
Peanut Butter is an affectionate, people-loving pittie estimated to be around 5 years old and currently in a foster home in New Jersey. She’s great with kids, though she can be a bit bouncy, so a home with children aged 5+ would be ideal. Peanut Butter has been with us for a little over a year, so we know she loves with all her heart. PB is looking for a home where she can be the Queen of the Castle—meaning no other pets—but she’ll shower her new family with plenty of love and devotion. This couch-loving pitbull would love to have her own sofa to lounge on. She’s a big fan of toys and long walks. Peanut Butter is a true gem, and we know her perfect family is out there.  All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Story
Max and "brother" Bear are a bonded pair. Max was originally adopted from PMAR as a puppy, but when the owner contacted us about returning him due to illness and no longer being able to care for him, they asked if we could also take Bear. We said, yes, because we knew Max was losing the only home he had ever known, so we didn't want him to lose his brother, too. Bear is a little more reserved than Max (who is very outgoing and friendly), but they truly love each other and we want to keep them together. We would like to find them a home with a nice fenced-in yard where they could run and play. Bear is oblivious to cats, but Max is a bit reactive, so a kitty-free home would be best. They seem to get along with other dogs. Both pups are strong and need work on leash manners. They are neutered up-to-date and ready for a home to call their own! Story
Nickname: Inspector Gadget Time in Care: 158 days and still waiting Specter is a tall, leggy stunner with a sleek white coat and the kind of soft, expressive eyes that instantly pull you in. Likely a Boxer–Great Dane mix, he’s the definition of a gentle giant, graceful, goofy, and absolutely charming. This sweet boy loves people and gets wonderfully playful with his dog friends. He shines in calm, easy-going environments and does best with older kids, as too much chaos can make him a bit nervous. Specter is housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, and has a serious love for toys especially when he can parade them around proudly. While he isn’t able to live with cats, he more than makes up for it with his big heart, affectionate nature, and eager to please personality. After 158 days with us, Specter is still waiting for someone to see just how special he is. If you’re searching for a loyal, loving companion with charm, grace, and a delightfully goofy streak, Specter might be the perfect match you’ve been overlooking. 🖤
