Story
Meet Manon! She is a 43 pound beautiful girl who came to the shelter as a stray. Manon is a one-of-a-kind type of dog who, once you bond with her, is bound to be the best friend you've ever had! She is half rough-and-tumble and half snuggle muffin, who often enjoys parallel-style play like chewing a bone while sitting next to you. She is dedicated to her dental hygiene and will chew any hard toy to bits. However, she is very gentle with stuffed toys, treating them like her babies and grooming them gently. Manon is an avid hiker and will match your pace all day long! She is also a self-proclaimed branch manager and will even try to take them off a living tree to carry back home or chew up. When she's not making her own toys or hiking the ADK, she is an expert-level food puzzler. Once her brain and body are tired for the day, she'd love to cuddle up on the couch in her donut PJs. Like many pit-types, she's not a fan of the cold, rain or snow and prefers to lounge indoors. If you'd like to see for yourself what a wonderful girl she can be, stop by the shelter during walk in hours Tues-Sun 12-4:30 (extended hours 12-6:30 on Thursdays) or contact the Adoptions Team at 607-257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com. Hi there, they call me Silly Goose, and I think that's pretty fitting! I was found tied to a tree with two other dogs. At first, I was pretty nervous about being taken away by strangers to a strange place but, since I've been here, I've been warming up to new people pretty well. I think I would make a pretty good new family member if you don't mind a 52 pound dog trying to climb in your lap! I also love to play with toys, run around the fenced yard and generally just be cute and goofy. Call, email or stop by the shelter during open hours if you'd like to meet me, Silly Goose! Hello, I'm Rah! It's nice to meet you, but could you just sit and stay with me for a bit before you try to pet me? I'm a little shy about new experiences, but let me be real with you: once I'm comfortable, it is ON. I love zoomies around the yard - here, let me show you! I'll show you the best toy ever - my purple rolly ball. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of butt scritchies. Because I can get a little too excited, they think that any kids that I go home with shouldn't be younger than ten years old (I might bowl them over with my joy). I will also let you know if there's someone at the front door - quite loudly! But I'm really well behaved on walks, and I've got quite the repertoire of tricks to share with you, if you happen to have a treat. If you'd like to come in and meet me, please call or email the shelter to set up an appointment! (607)257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com (adoptions category: Lilac)

Story
Remus was discovered roaming the streets of Caroline and was brought to the shelter by compassionate souls. He found a home somewhat quickly, but recently came back to us because his human family was having some personal issues. Remus has unique ears. Some of the outside parts of his ears are missing and uneven. Because he was brought in as a stray, we don't know if this was done on purpose, if it was an injury, or if he was born that way. They don't seem to bother him so, for now, they just make him look special! Remus is still learning basic manners, but his former adopter reports that he is friendly and welcoming to all visitors. He knows some basic commands and will excel in life if he continues his training. Remus loves to play with other dogs, but doesn't like to share food with them. If he's going to live with or have playdates with other dogs, his humans will need to make a plan for safe feeding when it's meal time! He also enjoys squeaky toys and flopping on his friends. If you'd like to meet Remus, stop by the shelter during walk in hours Tues-Sun 12-4:30 (extended hours 12-6:30 on Thursdays) or contact the Adoptions Team at 607-257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com (Adoption Category: Green)

Hi, my name is Gigi! I am a sweet, young girl looking for my forever home. Treats and butt scratches are the key to my heart! I would love to find a home where I can gain confidence and learn to experience life in a positive way. I enjoy the company of other dogs as long as they are larger than me. I am very particular about who I share a home with and must have a feline-free home. If you are a patient person who would love to add a playful, fun and spunky young pup to your life, then I'm your gal!

Meet Ohana! She is the sweetest lady with the biggest pittie smile. She loves to engage in zoomies when she is excited and is so much fun to play with! Ohana would thrive in a home where she can be the only pet as she doesn't like to share her spotlight with other animal friends. When it's hot outside some of Ohana's favorite activities are splashing around in the kiddie pool and basking in the sun with her human friends!

This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for BINGO. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. His adoption is FREE to approved home. Looking for a loyal companion? Meet Bingo! This 2-year-old mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, and American Staffordshire Terrier will win your heart with his devotion and playful nature. Weighing in at 40 pounds, Bingo is a medium-sized bundle of joy who loves nothing more than to play fetch and chew on his beloved stuffed toys and Nylabones. Bingo's unique charm shines through in his quirky habits. He absolutely adores ice cubes and will eagerly run to the fridge with you for a treat. He also has a soft spot for pup cups from Starbucks. Despite being mostly deaf, Bingo is a smart cookie and responds well to hand commands like place, sit, down, and stay. He's a graduate of The Dog Wizard of Knoxville, and his training can continue with his new family. Bingo is fully potty trained and will ring bells hanging on the door to let you know when he needs to go out. He's also crate trained, making bedtime and alone time a breeze. Although he enjoys the company of his person, he can be a bit anxious around sudden movements due to his hearing loss. Bingo thrives in a one-person household where he can be the star of the show. If you're ready for a sweet, smart, and devoted companion who will bring joy and excitement into your life, Bingo is the perfect match for you. Give this lovable pup a forever home where he can truly shine!    Interested in adopting? Story
I probably am the most down to earth puppy you will ever meet, and I am only 6 months old.   I am not holding any grudges for being let go and making me fend for myself.  Thankfully, some nice people helped me find my way to Seventh Heaven Rescue. Being part of the rescue has been great, I get to meet new people and make some new friends.  I even met some really nice doctors as everyone has been trying to figure out why I am so special.  I have what the doctors refer to as cerebral hypoplasia. I had to ask what is that? I basically can’t maintain normal balance and coordination at times.  It can be caused by a few different things, as It could be hereditary or maybe my mom didn’t have proper nutrition while she was pregnant, but I am not letting that slow me down one bit. It doesn’t hurt at all and I was told that over time I will probably compensate for some of things that I do. Now, I am not falling over and I can sit and stand like a normal puppy, I just cant do rock climbing.  On top of that I have what the doctor referred to as vision distortion. I do have some vision but I have a very hard time in areas that are bright. There is no cure for either but it shouldnt get any worse and I will have a good quality of life. Please don’t let my vision impairment scare you away or that I maybe “clumsy”. At times you may notice I am wobbly and occasionally will have tremors in my back legs.  Sometimes I may even have a high-stepping gait, but all those little things make me that just that more special I will need you to be patient with me as I grow and get more confident.  I love my crate, that is my safe place, and I will go in there to get away as needed.  I will be your shadow inside; I love to follow you around and just want to be part of your family.  I love giving puppy kisses and absolutely just love the attention. I am starting to wag my tail when I am happy. My foster brothers are all very loud and I get to hear their voices but I haven’t found my voice yet, maybe one day I will.   My foster parents take me out every couple of hours to go potty and I haven’t had any accidents in the house.  I will go walk over to the door if I need to go out as a sign, but I probably could learn how to ring a bell in time as well.  Due to my condition, bright sunlight will confuse me, and I will need your help while we are outside. I guess you can say that I get clumsier in bright light but if it shaded, cloudy or dark out I am much more stable.  When its darker out, I will follow you around outside and I am much better walking on a leash then too. That is the best time for me as I can enjoy taking a walk with all the different sights and scents that I have a hard time seeing when it is bright out.  I am starting to learn what stairs are, but I will need some training to help me like going down the stairs. Boy, those stairs really do scare me!!  I have a hard time doing the stairs down but starting to get a hang of going up.  They make such a big deal when I make it to the top  I am a typical puppy in alot of ways, I am learning how to play with other dogs and that I can’t chew on everything and learning when I sit, I can get a treat! I, Not sure why they won’t let me chew on their hands and they keep redirecting me to different types of toys.  I really like playing with balls, and the toys that have treats in them.  What a surprise when a treat comes out. and  I love peanut butter treats; those are my favorites!  I like having friends to play with and wouldn’t mind being with one that likes to play.  Sometimes the larger dogs will scare me but in time I have gotten use to them. I also like being around kids as well, some of them are my size and love to play with me.  I even played on a kids scooter the other day, that was so much fun! A fenced in yard is not necessary for me but eventually I probably could navigate it without getting hurt.  That sunlight really throws me off and I will walk into the fence, walls or anything big left out.  I do well on a leash and being near you will help keep me safe.   I love my foster parents, but I am really looking forward to my forever home. I am up to date on vaccines, and already neutered. If I sound like a perfect fit, please submit an application, You wont regret it!     ##2129797##
