Story
Zeus is a big love bug. He is extremely friendly and will ask for pets all day long. He was adopted by our family about 3 years ago having really bad separation anxiety. He got better over time, especially since 90% of the time someone was home with him and the other times, he was with our other dog. We have had to leave him in a dog hotel while on vacations on a couple of occasions and he did not like it there with the other dogs or in the kennels. He’s not a fan of being in a crate or cage at all. He would love someone who will let him sleep in bed with them because he doesn’t like being alone at night either. He has been in a home with a cat and a dog. Both got along with him but he is a diva and likes to get as much of or all of the attention. He doesn’t particularly like any kids under about 12 years old. He really is a sweet boy but would best fit in a home with only older children/no children and someone who can be home most of the time giving him the attention he so craves!

Story
Zeus is a loving Snuggler dog and needs a lot of attention. He will most likely do better in a home with no small children as he likes his space when he wants it. He is not a picky eater and eats about anything. Loves to play and is very vocal about what he wants. He is a protective dog who loves to spend time with his owner.

Story
Get ready for a whole lot of personality bundled into a 40-pound body when you meet Christina Wagulera! She is a fun-loving supercharged ball of energy and her high-speed antics make everyone here at the shelter laugh. This young Pittie mix was picked up as a stray when she arrived at the SPCA and she has delighted us all with her goofy personality. She's a happy girl who loves to zoom, bounce and (when tired out) even snuggle! She is in "dog nirvana" when she is out chasing balls and toys in the play yard or walking with one of the volunteers out in the field. This is a dog who will need lots of exercise and she could make a great running partner. If you have a fenced in yard, she'd probably love to speed around it daily. Christina was able to go out on a short foster weekend recently so we could give potential adopters a better sense of her in a home environment. The adopter noted she definitely was calm once she settled in and would be content to rest by her while she was working. Christina kept to the toys provided without chewing other things in the home. The foster also worked on some general obedience training and said Christina was good at responding to directions. The foster parent did say Christina liked her to keep in her sight, so someone working mostly from home or with a flexible schedule could be a really good option for her. If you have a dog who can handle her energy and rough play style, they might be a good fit and we would do a dog meet to check how they do together. Continued training by her new family to teach her how to curb her bubbly enthusiasm will be needed but she's super smart and loves her treat rewards. If you think she might be the companion you are looking for, call the Adoptions Desk at 607-257-1822 x221 for an appointment to meet her. (Adoption category: Lilac)

Story
Hello! They call me Queen and I think I deserve that title. I'm an adorable 2 year old pittie type, weighing in around 48 pounds. I love spending time with my human friends. Sometimes I take a minute to warm up to new people, but I've loved most everyone I've met here so far! Other dogs can make me feel nervous, due to my history, and cats seem to be a little too exciting, so I may be happiest being your one-and-only. So far, I am equally happy to go for walks, play and sniff outside, or snuggle up to you! I also love to zoom around at top speed, so I hope you have a space for me to do that. I'm thinking that if I can get a little consistency in my life, I'll be quite the happy family member! If you're ready to serve me as your benevolent leader, call or email the shelter for the chance to meet me! (607)257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com (adoptions category: Purple)

Story
Hey there, black dog fans, I'm Cora! My photo makes me look like a big dog, but really, I'm more of a "pocket lab" sized girl. I weigh 40 pounds, and I'm a little bit chubby right now! While I'm getting to know you, I'd like it if you offered me some treats. You know snacks are the way to a girl's heart! Next, I'll probably want to stand on your lap, and might even show you my happy dog dance. I wouldn't mind going for a walk with you after that, but hang on tight because I can be a bit speedy. After getting used to the place, I've been pretty happy meeting polite new people. Turns out they're going to take me for walks and play fetch! If you're hoping for a little dog buddy, I might be the one for you! Ask the staff to introduce us! (Adoption color: Green)
