Story
He was adopted from a shelter in Jacksonville, NC. It was unknown how old he was when the shelter obtained him. He was purchased for my son and unfortunately, he is afraid of certain males and my son happens to be one of them. The shelter believes he may have been abused by his former owners due to how skiddish he is of everything. He seems to love other animals and wants nothing more than to play with them, dogs that is, I've never seen him around cats. He is great with my grandbaby who was 2 at the time he was adopted. He let's her lead him around and lay all over him although he doesn't seem to be aware of how big he is and has knocked her over a few times, not being mean, just playing. He needs someone who can spend time with him as I have two jobs right now and dont have the time. He is a lap baby and loves to lounge. If left unattended he will chew your belongings. He really is a great dog who deserves all the love and someone who has time to give it. He's also good on a leash!

With his partially brindled black-and-white coat and soulful eyes, Coco is a true companion dog—one who wants to be by your side, whether chasing after his favorite ball or curling up for a relaxing evening on the couch.Coco is a high-energy pup who thrives on activity. He absolutely loves playing fetch, chewing on a good bone, and soaking up all the affection he can get. He’s a smart boy who knows commands like sit, stay and go to your place, and even responds excitedly to “Do you want your food?”—especially if it involves his favorite treats like cheese or apple slices!Because Coco can be reactive when meeting new dogs, he’s looking for a home where he can get some support in this area. He’s never shown aggression toward people, but due to his size and strong personality, a household without small children would be the best fit. A secure, fenced yard would be ideal for him to burn off energy, but he’ll also need a patient and experienced pet parent who can manage his leash reactivity and give him structured exercise. At home, Coco is a loving, devoted companion who just wants to be near his favorite people! He’ll happily rest his head on your lap, lean in for pets, or simply sit close by, enjoying your presence. He sleeps soundly in his own space, eats well and is house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations—ready for his new adventure with his next loving family! Are you looking for a playful, loyal, and affectionate companion who will love you unconditionally? Then reach out today at thallis.santesteban@gmail.com or 210-254-3078 to learn more about Coco!  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. April 2, 2025, 1:57 am

His sweet kisses and smothering cuddles make for a companion you didn’t even know you were missing! His loyalty to his adults shines bright.  Wherever you go, he goes, and he never strays too far away. Copper loves hard and deeply and always wants to be with you during play time as well or just hanging on the couch watching TV! He’ll never turn down a good treat, good belly rub and/or chew toy except for maybe an hour or two of baking in the sun! Which has proven to be his all time favorite thing! Cats and children are definitely not Copper’s forte; he does best with his adult humans and possibly one other dog! He’s going to fit right in with a home that has a fenced-in back yard or lots of walks, lots of play time, a outdoor area where he can sun bake as well as some alone time to catch up on his Z’s for the day! He’ll love anyone who loves him right back, and he appreciates the hugs and kisses from his humans!Contact Chelsea Davis at 828-747-5838 or Chelslb2001@gmail.com today to learn more about snuggly Copper!
